Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
Phyl - Thanks for letting us know about Nancy Ziemen. It was so sad when she posted her last blog about retiring due to her illness. She will be missed. I hope you can shake off whatever is making you feel unwell - take care of yourself.
Ruth - I don't think recipes taken off the Internet are copywrited, since they are in the public domain. Someone on the main board posted information from the WW site in the UK about the new program and that was the information that was copywrited. Your projects sound like they are coming along well. I'm going to look for my turkey breast tomorrow too. I like to get the 3 pound Butterball Boneless Turkey breast, but it is hard to find on the stores. It's just enough for me to get several meals out of. If I can't find it, I'll just buy the smallest frozen turkey breast I can get.
Ginny - Hope you weren't too worn out from the grandkids. I'm sure they had fun. I'm still thinking about what to do about my tooth. I wanted to wait to make sure it is well healed up and then I'll go for a consult with the periodontist. Hope your weather is better, are you getting some of the snow I've been reading about?
Meg - The Pumpkin Pudding Bake recipe I posted came out of a 1970s Better Homes and Garden Cookbook. It does make a really nice pumpkin custard with very little sugar and fat. Sounds like you're making good progress on your afghan.
The weather here is cloudy and cool today. I'm happy to be able to stay home today, since I have to go out every other day this week. I also want to try to get most of the rest of the food I need for Thanksgiving. I have a lot of it already and I'm just waiting until the last week to get a few things. I'll probably go to the grocery store next Monday, since after that the stores get crazy with people buying food for the holiday.
I've been watching the leaves fall from the one tree in the yard that I usually rake them up from. It's still about half full of leaves so I'm going to wait until they are all down before I rake.
Take care everyone!

THis is not my evening post...But I did want to say that I noticed others had posted articles about the “new” WW program that they are rolling out in a few weeks. I figure that is what the hoopla was about with someone posting proprietary information on these boards. Will be back later on to say hello G

Good evening!
Phyl- so sorry you are not feeling one hundred percent. Hope that you get over what is ailing you quickly. Hard to believe (for me at least) but your surgery is only a few weeks away- in January, right? Thanks for posting about Nancy Ziemen- I enjoyed her shows - she was an inspiration to those of us who love to sew.
CJ- do not blame you for waiting until all the leaves have fallen before you rake. Our trees are 80% bare....guess we are a week or two ahead of you. Hope that you can find your turkey!
Same weather as CJ here, its cool and cloudy. They say its supposed to warm up a bit. Grandson was ok- but he sure kept me busy. Tomorrow I have to work, but no grandkids to baby sit. Got a lot of household items to take care of during my “time off”.
Hope everyone has a good night. Ginny

CJ, I hope you find the turkey breast you're looking for. I don't care for breast myself. I like the thigh. Dh likes the breast meat so we alway get a while turkey. Strange thing is that two of our grocery stores posted their ads today and one has no turkeys on sale. How strange is that. I still haven't make that pumpkin custard you posted but I'll make it for me for Thanksgiving and make dh the traditional pie.We have one more store that won't post their weekly ad till tomorrow and I'm sure they'll have turkeys
Ginny, your grandson must be very advanced in his skills to be able to make those crafts at such a young age.I'm sure you help him but still it sounds like he does a good job.
Yes that is sad about Nancy. I watched her programs years ago with envy and wished that I could sew like she did
Yes I did hear that they have a new program in the UK or somewhere in Europe.
Ginny, yes days or time off are always so filled with the necessity of running a household beside working.
PHyl, I hope you feel better soon and that the chills are only due to winter weather and not illness
Meg, sounds like you're enjoying having company and still finding time to sit and relax also.

Good morning!
Ruth, Indeed, I hope that the last of the local stores near you has turkeys in their ad. It sure seems odd that the other two do not. We are getting a “free” turkey from one of th stores here- I just have to spend 10 more dollars to earn it. Someone from another thread posted an article about a new WW program, and from the comments its really a rehash of core/simply filling or whatever you want to call it. I might go to a meeting in a few weeks to get the written materials, which I like to have.
QUiet morning here. Let’s hope that Dh’s slightly irritable mood goes away during our walk Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I did find my Butterball Boneless Turkey Breast Roast today, so I'm happy. It's just 3 pounds which is fine for me and gets me several meals. I bought some green beans at the store today too and cooked the ham bone in them. I had an eye exam today and was glad that my eyes had stayed the same this year. My father had several eye diseases the last several years of his life, so I try to take care of my eyes and maybe mine won't get that bad. Weather was pretty nice here today, partly sunny/cloudy and around 50 degrees. Take care everyone!

CJ, I'm very happy for you. First that you were able to find the turkey breast you wanted and second for the good results of the eye exam. Several in my family, mother, sister, brother had/have glaucoma and an aunt had macular degeneration but my eyes so far have been fine....just glasses and cataracts is all.
Ginny, i hope you had a good day and that your dh is not irritable any longer.
I looked first thing at the store ad. They had one turkey on sale. WE went anyway and got a small turkey and a ham that was also on sale. The stores were packed with people already and there was a lot of traffic and this is a small town. I don't think I could live in a large city ever again.
OH and don't know if anyone noticed but I am now gramma14. DGS was born finally at 12 days overdue. Healthy big boy at just under 9#. They still haven't decided on a name. I hope they pick one they really both want because this could be their last baby. He's #8 child for them and praise God all healthy ones. I'm so thankful for that. I'm thankful for many things but having healthy children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren is top of my list....thank you Lord!

Good evening! CJ- so glad that your eye exam went well!! Ya need those eyes for crafting right? . The stores are nuts this time of year- congrats on finding that turkey breast that you wanted. Enjoy the ham too....they keep so well and will be useful when the weather gets cold again- I love soups with ham in them! Hey, did someone say that Ruth is now a grandma of 14?! Ya think she is just a little bit happy and proud? (We can see you smiling from ear to ear over the internet Ruth). So glad the baby arrived just fine. What a big baby- My DS was 8#12 ounces, and that was plenty big enough for me! We are having our hardwood floors refinished - which will make my house a bit crazy for about 2 weeks. So we are going to my SIL’s for Thanksgiving. I am making all her desserts and some vegetables, which I can do with limited kitchen availability. (Will have full use of the kitchen Thanksgiving morning). So I wimped out today and ordered the items I need for Thanksgiving from the store with better prices- did a shop from home order so all I have to do is pick the order up (they had a special on from home orders....and are not charging the normal fee to use that service this week). Guess I have blabbed enough for one day. Night! Hope Phyl and Meg can check in G

Ginny, you didn't blab and there never is such a thing as talking too much (well unless you count the man that was in line in front of me in grocery store who kept blabbing to the cashier while my ice cream was melting)
Yes having updates to our homes done is a huge inconvenience and nerve wracking but it's mostly always worth it. You'll have beautiful floors. I hope this is a sil that you like not the one you have problems with. It sure is good of you to make all the desserts and veggies while also working and trying to deal with the floor work. I'm glad your store has that service so you can order from home and just go pick it up. I don't know if they do that here or not but we do like to go and look around and hunt down bargains but there could come a time in everyone's life when an order from home service would be needed so it's great they've started to do that. I do know people that order everything and have it delivered. It must be expensive. I hope I never have to do that but I know that right now delivery to your home is definitely not an option here at this time.
Have a great night everyone and get a good rest
Oh and yes, I am a happy and proud grandma for sure!!!

Hello everyone, it is raining here this evening, a good night to be home. DD#1 and here DH were here all day doing laundry and they stayed for dinner. They are staying with friends while they are here but they spend a lot of time here. I was here last night but I don't see my post. Probably something wrong with my computer.
I thank Phyl & cj for their pumpkin recipes. Here is one I found .
Pumpkin Fluff. 15 oz pumpkin 1 box spice cake mix 1/3 cup water. Mix all together in a large bowl..... spoon into 24 muffin cups. Makes muffins/cupcakes ...serve with ff cool whip.
Ruth, congratulations on the birth of your new grandchild. What fun to have a new baby for the holiday season.
I think my computer is messing up again.
Ginny, I am glad you were able to order your food items for Thanksgiving. That will be a big help. I am sure your floors will look great when they are finished. I need to do some up dating at my house.
I think my computer is thinking of freezing up so I had better close before it does.
Have a good night.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Meg - Thanks for the pumpkin recipe. I have a box of spice cake mix and had been thinking about using with the pumpkin. Hope your computer is working better today. Ruth - Congratulations on the new grandson and I'm glad that everything went well and the baby is healthy - you're right, that's the most important thing. I'm glad you got your shopping done. I have almost everything I need now, just a few things I want to wait until Monday to get. The people in the stores do start to get crazy this time of year - December is especially bad. I'm glad I don't have to do my shopping on the weekends anymore. Ginny - Hope things turn out well with your floors. That was probably a big help for you ordering your groceries for pick up. You'll have to let us know what desserts and vegetables you are making for Thanksgiving. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. I went out and did some errands today and also a little shopping. Stores weren't too bad around here. I also picked up lunch, so it's nice not to have to make it today. I received an order I had made with Connecting Threads. They had a tool that is used to help close safety pins when you use them to baste a quilt. I like to use the pins or thread baste more than I like using the sprays. So hopefully this will help. I also bought two other items: www.creativegridsusa.com/products/CGRJAW3 - Creative Grids Pineapple Tool Trimmer - I saw this used by Jenny Doan (MSQC) and thought it looked really easy to use, so I hope to get to make a Pineapple Quilt one day www.fatquartershop.com/spelling-bee-book-lori-holt - This is a book by Lori Holt who also did the Farm Girl Vintage book which I really liked. Looks like some great patterns to spell out letters in a quilt block Take care everyone!

Thank you CJ and it's good to see you. I'm glad you were able to shop without the stores being too crowded and glad you could pick up a lunch so that you didn't have to prepare it yourself after the shopping was done. It sounds like you got some really good things in your order and htat you'll enjoy using to do new things or things you've already done that you enjoy.
Meg, that recipe using the spice cake sounds good. My dh does like spice cake so maybe this would work for him. He's like me in that he likes a denser cake rather than a light fluffly one.I see you stopped in last night but your post wasn't here last time I checked the thread so I musst have been engrossed in my book.
The turkey I bought yesterday was small but didn't fit in the freezer and was quite thawed today so that's where I've been all day is making stuffing and preparing the turkey for the oven after I did my Bible reading and study. It's in now and potatoes are cooking for mashed potatoes and I'll stick in a couple yams when there's about an hour to go on the turkey. We always eat late but it is 2 hours earlier here than were you are CJ and Ginny so even though it sounds weird that my turkey is still in the oven that's the reason. I also cut up some pork and have it marinating to make some pork curry to go in the freezer for the cold days when we don't want to stand around in the kitchen cooking. And I made sauteed onions and peppers for dh's sausage for his lunch. So it's been a cooking day and I still have the curry to make if I do indeed make it today. otherwise it will be fine sitting in the fridge till tomorrow but I'm sure I'll get it done today.
Needless to say I haven't got to any crafting yet today and didn't do any yesterday either and didn't even look at patterns that would,in our list, count as crafting. Maybe this evening.

Good evening! Just saying hi for now- what a busy day. The floors are getting done tomorrow, and we had to empty the kitchen.
I sort of got to craft, for the 15 minutes that DGS watched TV, I ironed the tree skirt I in preparation for stippling.
WOn’t be here until late tomorrow. Have a great day!

Good morning all. It's an overcast and very windy day here and I see that it's snowing on the mountain so it will probably be snowing down here soon too.It won't last because it's supposed to be fairly warm for the next few days
Today after cleaning the kitchen again and processing the leftovers I'm going to do some crocheting for sure. Never did get to that last night. I read in stead and didn't do anything that could be at all considered as crafting. We were disappointed in the turkey we got. Dh did like the wings and leg but the breast meat wasn't all that good and either was the thigh so I'm going to make at least some of the leftover turkey into a turkey a la king type thing and he can eat it over the leftover mashed potatoes or biscuits. He really likes that stuff. I don't know what the deal is with turkeys now. ONe year we got one that was especially good so we stuck with that brand but it's not the same now. Maybe our tastes are different now. I know mine is. I used to love meat and now really don't care for it at all except when made into something like a casserole of some kind or the curry that I make.
I gained a pound so I'm going to be more careful in my eating but I do think it's fluid retention because I have puffy fingers. Still I don't want to gain after all my hard work getting to where I am.
Ginny, I hope the floor work is going ok and will be completed fast and well.
Hello also to CJ, Meg, and Phyl. I hope you will all have a good day. See you all later
