I'm starting to use Connect a little more than I used to. I still don't love it though. The success stories are inspiring.

I have a hard time seeing the sad stories, someone dies, they have cancer, divorce etc. I am shocked what people out our there. YES!!! What is up with that? It's the same way on one of the WW facebook pages (WW Over 50). Save that for your own fb page with those who know you.

Since WW has not improved the functionality of web-based Connect despite early promises that they would and since I do not yet own a smartphone, I find myself going there less and less frequently.

I liked it when I was still an on line member and it was hard to lose some of the connections, no pun intended, I made with others I followed. Like all forms of social media, it took up time so I let it go long after I let WW SP go.

I was part of the beta trial with Connect... didn't like it back then . I rarely used it when I was a paying customer after that. I am almost to the point that the social media world where everything is based on likes and followers, big wigs and nobodies is feeling very unnatural to me. and now with Flex all over Facebook I am feeling myself screaming, "it's all too much".
I wonder if I will ever grow out of that feeling of needing to belong to something......

My son is very worried that Net Neutrality will change everything and we will end up paying for our e mail and every site we now get if we have Internet. That will change the face of social media.

Audrey, I hadn't heard anything about net neutrality ( in fact had to google it) and oh yes, that would change quite a few things. Pretty scary....

Audrey, I only heard about this threat from a librarian the other day. My response was that the economic backlash would be likely to bring the economy to its knees. Can you imagine if everyone was so angered that they stopped making online purchases, dropped paid access to sites like Weight Watchers, etc? The communications companies may have gains they could make through fees, but companies that have build businesses that depend on Internet revenue could be brought to their knees. It is definitely an area to watch for developments.

The attempts to gut net neutrality is talked about a ton on liberal twitter/podcasts/etc. (which is where I get a lot of info), but I don't think it gets a lot of play on TV news and more mainstream outlets. I wish they'd focus less on trump's tweets and more on what this administration is trying to do to the internet. I mean to a certain extent the market may take care of it, but I could totally see something like Verizon giving you the yahoo search engine (which they own) for free and forcing you to pay extra if you want to use google instead. Think of the extra ad revenue they'd get - it might be worth the customers they'd lose. And I think a lot of people don't understand it so there won't be the mass uprising against it that there was about health care or something with more obvious impact.

Yes, I agree wildcat . Because our son works with computers on a daily basis he is more aware of the repercussions. My husband and I had no idea what could happen. He said since our Internet provider is Comcast/Xfinity , down the road we could be charged for G mail, which we use far more. I'd have to pay for FB, Instagram etc. I am hoping that the Wall Street Journal will begin addressing this. Other papers, news media, magazines etc. are just looking for the outrage of the day. This will affect all of us and those with less money will, of course, have less access to services they use for free now.

We must follow some of the same sites. I read about it all the time on Facebook from the sites I follow.
