Good morning!!
Ruth, well that could have been me, putting the yarn in an obvious place but not being able to find it. Pound of love is what my DGD’s afghan will be made of.....its just so soft. And from looking at he internet many are using atypical colors for baby afghans, the denim will be a pretty change and last longer into the child’s life than something in true baby colors.
Well, Meg- at least the tree is up and you are not stuck with the responsibility of doing that. I saw something on the news the other day which mentioned how putting up holiday decor makes people feel good. For me it does. Hope you were able to get some crocheting done with your achy wrist. Does wearing a wrist brace provide any comfort for you?
Well, its cold here....got the grand kids so I have to be short. Happy Monday! Hope CJ and Phyl check in and are doing well GInny

Yes I was thinking yesterday that it's almost December and soon the whole year will be over.Time just goes by so fast now it seems. On the other hand the long cold months between now and spring do seem to go by very slowly.
Ginny, I'm so happy to hear that the binding got there not only early in the week but as early as it could possibly arrive in the week. Now you can get that done and your dd can put up her tree. The children will be thrilled.
It's quite warm here again today. My thermometer says 63, but it's very, very windy.
I did get all five pairs of the gloves done and finished two baby balls. I have three of them done now and just have to make 3 more which I'll do today. They don't take long at all. Then on to the rattle and Christmas things will be done. I have so many things I want to get to after that. Main thing will be dh's scarf but that won't take long either. It just needs binding off then I will do an edging around the whole thing I think. I mentioned it before...it won't show but it may keep the side from curling....some anyway. After that I want to do some of the scrunchies and some bracelets and then some more fingerless gloves that my dgd liked when she was here. I have a good plan for the Bible cover. A picture of it came into my mind yesterday so I got the one figured out that I want to make.Don't have to have that done until mid March but want to get it done sooner.OH and dh wants me to make more of the potholders I made earlier this year. He likes them to take his food out of the microwave.
Ginny, I never thought Pound of Love was that soft until I started using this one last evening.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm sure you'll be glad to get the floors done so you can get everything back in it's place. Hope you are able to get the binding done soon. Ruth - You always sound so productive with all your projects, I admire your work and enjoy hearing about everything you make. Meg - Hopefully your wrist will feel better soon and the weather will warm up again. I'm sure the tree is lovely and I'm sure Devin enjoys looking at it. Phyl - Hope you are doing well and getting in some crafting. It's been very nice here weather-wise - in the 60s and sunny. The rest of the week is supposed to be mild too. I'm happy to have his weather at the end of November. I need to get out and rake up some leaves, so hopefully I can get to that this week. I haven't done any crafting but I was looking at quilt patterns for a block that looks like a Christmas present. I had seen a few quilts like that last year and would really like to make one, so hopefully I'll get to it. Take care everyone!

A short good evening!!
Ruth, I bought pound of love for DGD’s baby afghan, and thought it was very nice and soft. You get so much done in one day....amazing. And my Dd’s Tree is already up, just waiting for the skirt.
CJ- yes we have had a nice warm spell. That quilt block sounds so pretty- hope you get a chance to make it!!!
Hi to Phyl and Meg Ginny

howdy, had puter problems saturday. got warning page and it froze up.we took jeana out for her bday breakfast. dgs kyle came over and got it straightened out. then sunday happened again. don't know why it started working last night. so if you get something from mircosoft call this number, black square and then they want your email and password it is a scam.do not call do not give out any information.glad I was smart enough to know that.
well I had about 45 rows done on the pink cable scarf. had dropped a stitch way down. so it ripit ripit maybe I should just give up.. I was as determined In other things In my life as I am about the damn scarf boy would I be at goal, house would be spotless etc. closets and drawers would be neat. oh hell that wouldn't be any fun.
haven't done any sewing since the retreat. today I bake d cookie for the quild meeting tomorrow .should have forgotten about baking. first batch I put to much salt in .read the size on the wrong line. threw out that flour mixture. next batch I forgot to cream the butter and margarine .,that went out. 3rd batch is ok did not give me 5 dozen. it is a recipe in december country woman. ginderbread kisses. they are like the peanut butter blossoms. only you use molasses and ginger. I used mint kisses. they melt to easy. also candy cane kisses. so there's your chuckle for tonight.phyl

CJ, the quilt block sounds beautiful and would make a wonderful quilt. I'm glad your weather is nice. I hope you enjoy it while it's there. Last time I racked leaves was in 2006 with my dgc when ds was still in the Army and they lived in Ky. it was in Nov too and they had beautiful weather the whole time I was there.
Ginny, I don't know why I was thinking that you had to have the tree skirt down before you could put up the tree. I was thinking about it the other day and thinking they would have to lift up the whole tree to put the skirt under it. The brain isn't what it used to be.
Phyl, sorry for the computer problems but I'm glad to hear it's working now. I've received that same Microsoft thing. In fact a couple years ago I was getting it all the time. I never, ever give out my password to anyone online and I knew not to call that number. It's a hard screen to get out of and it says to not shut down your computer or you will wipe out the hardrive but after trying to get out of the screen a couple times I shut down my computer and that thing was finally gone so after that, every time it came up I just shut down the computer and restarted. Haven't had it again for a long time. And of course it didn't wipe out my hard drive.Another one to watch out for is a supposed message from UPS. It looks like a legitimate UPS message but it's a virus. I emailed the real UPS about it and haven't received another of the virus one since.
CJ, I'm glad to hear you like hearing about my crafting because I like blabbing about it
Phyl, I have to say that you are sure determined and patient. You've been working on that scarf for a long time.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Sounds like a frustrating time taking out stitches and baking cookies. Hope you enjoy the guild meeting. It was another nice day here today, but I was inside most of the time. The rest of the week looks to be good too. I might be going to a casino tomorrow. I'm not a big gambler. I usually set a limit on how much to spend and if I lose it, at least I enjoyed myself. Take care everyone!

Hello everyone.
CJ good to see you. It's colder here today and when I went to get packages dropped off by UPS there was a sprinkling of snow on the deck. I hear it's going to get a little warmer the rest of the week. I hope so anyway. Have fun at the casino
I decided to make two more baby balls so I have a bunch of them done now and will make one more to save for dggd's birthday. Each of the boys will get three for Christmas....along with a couple other toys of course. Next is the rattle as I didn't get to it yesterday. I decided I'd better take care of a couple other things. I have to do that soon again today but will work on the ohter ball first just to get it done even though bday isn't till end of July. We'll see, I might give them to her at Christmas even though she will only be five months old.
I have my list written out again for all the things to make with them all prioritized and then there's the things I make that are just picked up when I'm watching tv or talking.
Hello also to Ginny, Meg, and Phyl. Have a great day and I'll be back later to check on everyone

Good evening!
Phyl- well you Havel had your share of problems- between the computer issiues, a tough. Recipe and a rotten phone call. I also get country woman magazine- which I love. I havwe also gotten many of those “Microsoft” calls- and I hang up on them.
Ruth, your brain is working just fine-its tough keeping treacle of everyone and everything online.
CJ- hope you have fun at the casino. I am not a big fan of casinos - you are right the way to do it is set how much you are willing to lose and spend no more..
Meg- how is your day going?
Well, the tree skirt is sort of done. I ordered 3 packages of bias tape from amazon- 2 or the 3 are here. I need only 4 inches of the 4th package, so I did as much as I could get done and gave it to DD. I will add the other tape when I get it.
Really tired today. Have a good evening Ginny

Hi everyone, just checking in. The weather was very nice today...sunshine. I took myself to get a hair cut. I was looking very saggy. I am trying to get odds and ends done and I don't move as fast as I used to. DGD cooked dinner tonight and she put too much salt in it. I ate a little but I don't like a lot of salt. I didn't say anything. I haven't done any crocheting for a couple of days but I need to get busy again.
Phyl, I get those messages on my computer from Microsoft. I have never responded to them. I have closed my computer down and nothing bad has happened. I wish I lived closer I probably could have picked up your dropped stitch. You can use a crochet hook and bring up the stitch one row at a time without ripping the whole thing out. I hate having to rip it. I hope you can get your scarf finished.
Ginny, I am sorry you did not have enough binding to finish the tree skirt. I am sure it will look lovely when you get that last piece of binding on. I hope you get a good nights sleep.
Ruth, you run circles round all of us with all your projects and you get them all finished. I have had several orders from Blair. Mostly for Janet and a few odds and ends for me but I have to send some things back because they don't fit. Hopefully I will get them sent off tomorrow. I am not ordering anything else before Christmas. Janet is getting mostly clothes and some movies that she can share with everyone else at the care home. She is very hard to buy for.
cj, I am glad you are enjoying good weather and getting out to rake leaves in the fresh air would be good exercise. I don't mind raking leaves but I have to watch my balance.
I am off to read before I go to sleep. I have been having problems falling asleep at night.
Sleep well.

Good morning! Meg, glad you stopped in last night. I hope that you slept well and were able to fall asleep easily. I have tried melatonin to help me fall asleep from time to time.....not had any luck with that either. A friend does use it and says it works for her. I also use a diffuser with lavendar oil in it- not sure if that works either but it sure smells pretty! Glad you have been able to enjoy some nice weather. Bet it felt good to get your hair done!!! Oh, and my DD typically overdoes it with black pepper in dishes.....your DGD did a nice thing in cooking for the family, but its frustrating when its not seasoned as you like it.
Off to work for me. BBL Ginny

I got so involved in looking at...yes... More patterns last night that I didn't get here to see you if you had posted, Meg. It's good to see you here/. Yes it was nice of your dgd to cook but I wouldn't like all the salt either. I don't like a lot of salt and never put it in when cooking. I do add salt to my food on some things but not many.I shudder when I watch Food Network and all the so called experts are always telling the people cooking that they didn't use enough salt and when those chefs themselves cook they put WAY too much salt in.
I have trouble getting to sleep too. It must be a problem of most older people because on one of the threads on the old WW board all they talked about every day was their problems with sleep. I've tried melatonin too. It didn't work for me either.
No Meg, I don't get everything finished. You should see all the ufo's I have. And there are so many things I'd like to make that I haven't even started but thank you for saying that. Luckily I don't have arthritis to hold me back from crocheting and even the painful thumb hasn't been acting up lately so I'm very blessed in that I am able and I have time.
Ginny, I want to get one of those diffusers. I did get some lavender oil from a company called Real Oil. They have good prices but I'm not sure how the quality of the oil is because I've never bought essential oils before. Diffusers seem kind of expensive but I'm going to check the internet. I think the aroma of the lavender would be a good thing. As you said, it does smell great even if it doesn't really help with sleep
Well I'm going to get started on my crocheting for the day. I'm now trying to decide if I really want to make the rattle or if I want to make a stuffed bear I saw. It's kind of flat yet stuffed and has little arms and legs that an infant could get hold of to shake it. So I'm going to put a rattle thing inside. I will be securing the container with lots of duct tape, wrapping the whole thing in batting and putting it all inside an old (but clean) sock before putting it in the bear's body. I should have actually stuffed one of these balls I made with a rattle thing just to see if you could actually hear a sound after it's so well padded.Well I guess maybe I could just try it out before putting it in a bear or rattle but just taping, wrapping and putting in a sock before putting it into anything...just thinking aloud here.
So anyway, have a great day and I'll see you all later

Well I decided on making the bear and I started it but then I ended up doing a bit of cooking and baking and cleaning the kitchen so haven't got back to it yet. I'll be doing it the rest of the evening. It's an interesting bear as I'm making it with Premier mega brushed yarn in a variegated green, yellow, and white. At least it's going to be soft and fuzzy.
