Good afternoon beautiful peoples! Neen, feel better soon... I've gotten it from buffet style seafood salad, and it's always a yucky thing. Heather- happy belated birthday ! 100gone- my thoughts are with you... and sending you lots of virtual hugs. I am KOKO.... staying with the program. November was my comeback to WW month . I am happy that I did, I am feeling settled and comfortable. I was so tired of second guessing and going up and down with the same 2-3 pounds- During this month I lost 7.8 pounds which was the quit gain plus a few. 3 pounds to goal Excited for new beginnings and finding old and new friends. Makes this journey so much more meaningful

It rained from 9 p.m. with a huge thunderstorm until 6:30 today and now it is gorgeous outside. ... No matter when the alarm is set my body wakes up at 6:15 a.m. if not earlier; I've gotten so old. Audrey, what was it you said about my area getting more rain than yours??? I didn't actually see or hear any rain here, although I did see some wet concrete on the pool deck when I got up. Guess it decided to express over us and rush to you. 8>)
I was surprised at my weigh-in that I lost 0.2 pounds because my scale jumped 2.1# overnight. I don't know why, but my weight is always lowest on Wednesdays and Sundays. If it were not for my many friends at my meeting, I would change my weigh-ins. I could, of course, weigh in on Sunday, but there is always concern the low numbers in our Monday meeting will cause a cancellation. I guess if it hasn't happened since 2008 it isn't likely to happen, but I wouldn't want to be a contributing factor to a cancellation. One member who joined a year ago hit 25# loss today and it is her 5th week of maintenance. She came planning to lose 10# gained over the holidays last year. She says she's lost an average of 2# a month with lots of plateaus and a few gains. That's somehow encouraging that if we stay the course we will see progress. I was shocked that our leader did not say ONE word about the change coming next week. Don't know why she hasn't teasted anything since I know the staff was allowed to do so for the past week or two, and of course given the fact that WW mailed out the teaser yesterday. Anyway, I'm eating my vegetable soup with beans and looking forward to the official change next week. I'm putting together my neighbor's recipe for ham and beans right now. Quick soaked the beans on the stovetop, cooking them in the InstantPot on high pressure now, then will add the rest of the ingredients and set it to slow cook until dinner. Looking forward to it. This just seems like such good soup weather.

Checking in. Worked out this morning then picked up a few holiday gifts that caught my eye. We then met with our lawyer and our wills are now up to date. I’m glad that’s done. Smiling and moving forward. Have a great day everyone.

I'm back to work today and it's been a zoo. neen , I hope you're feeling better. Rene - 3# to goal, nice! ksbruns , Have fun in Boston! linda72 , sounds like you had a great time! zazzles , Sunday is usually my lowest day and my weigh-in is Monday (of course). I was surprised that I was down 2# this week. 1.5# until I'm back at goal. jeanie, Congrats on the homework! Have a great day, all.

zazzles, The big event today as the Breville Smart Oven Air arrived today! I talked to DH about getting it this weekend. He wondered why I was getting it since we have a Cuisinart toaster oven that I don't actually use very often. Of course, I explained about the air fryer function and how the Cuisinart didn't have that. I also pointed out that one reason I didn't use the Cuisinart much was it wasn't very flexible. For some settings there is only one temperature you can use. That was an issue when we used it on Thanksgiving when our real double oven was being used already. It took longer to cook because I couldn't adjust the temperature. I looked up the Breville and you can adjust it so that was great. So, far I've used it once. I had some plain frozen stir fry veggies in the freezer. I measured out some and spritzed it with a little oil (very little oil just a couple of sprays). I then used the Air Fryer function. The default was 18 minutes but these were ready in about 13 minutes. And, they were great. I need to eat more veggies and this was so much tastier than just thawing out veggies. It is also tastier than a lot of the frozen veggies that I have that have a sauce on them. And, of course, this was a lot less calories. Honestly I think I will use this every day if only for the veggies. The only negative so far is I think they should give a cook book with some basic recipes. Also, they don't really explain some stuff in any detail. Still, I think it will be fine. So far I'm glad I got it. (I gave the Cuisinart to my son).

Kitty, glad to see your positive review of the oven so far. I swear that I use mine every day. On Friday I had a Turkey breast to roast and I did it in the Breville on the Roast setting. I overcooked it, but that was my fault. I should've stuck in a digital thermometer probe so I would have been alerted when it had reached proper temp. I was surprised at how nice the frozen stir-fry vegetables came out. That was one of the things you asked me about, and if you hadn't I would never have thought to try that. It is so simple—and tasty. One sandwich I love to splurge on is a baked ham & swiss, which I make open face. I've done that a couple times in the past week. I use rye bread from a locak bread shop—just one slice, a slice or two of lean deli ham, and a slice of reduced fat swiss. I mix some garlic into a Tbsp of Canola mayo and spread it on the bread, then top with the ham and cheese. I baked them on convection at 350° for about 8 minutes and they were just yummy.

zazzles the weather radar just lied about the rain Even on the news it said we didn't have much but they measure across town at the airport. We are closer to Madera, which is north of us and it rained all night. I am closing my eyes to the posts about new appliances. I have a large kitchen and even a storage room behind the garage. I have the rice cooker, Foreman Grill, Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, pots and pans outside of the kitchen and the kitchen cupboards are full. The Kitchen Aid mixer, Vitamix, Bonavita coffee pot, Kitchen Aid toaster oven and Bodun coffee grinder are on the counters. My husband makes toast in the toaster oven every day of the week. When I asked about the Scanpan I did not mention that we have 8 frying/saute pans of different sizes etc. and each has its purpose.

If you happen to get involved in a Secret Santa arrangement, I sure hope you don't get anything kitchen related. 8>)

I am sitting here LOLing..... I am wondering if I am being silly thinking about splurging on a slow cooker!!!
Remember, European kitchen ( similar to NYC) small.... I do have a spiralizer and a food processor.... and naturally an espresso/cappuccino machine.
The Breville looks awesome , btw!

Multi-cookers like the InstantPot (branded—others are made by Fagor, Breville, Cuisinart, etc.) can slow cook, pressure cook, steam, and some can even make yoghurt.

Thanks for the heads up Mike...love your new picture!! The cat, Missy, was having such a deep, restful sleep last night, keeping me company while I was watching TV, that I just had to snap that picture and swap out my profile pic.

I was never a cat person ( we always had dogs growing up) but my son just got a Siberian kitty... precious! and I think I could adapt very easily to being a cat owner
