I don't think anything is changing with the Simply Filling Plan - it is the same as always and yes it does still include FF dairies: milk, cottage cheese, cheese and such.
Only the Smart Points plan is changing, not how the points are calculated but you will have some of those SF protein options to count as 0. It's kind of a push towards SF for everyone.
Course we'll know all the details in a week.
I actually like SF but find that it is best to still keep track of what your eating and to weigh and measure out portions. I know, everyone tells me that defeats the purpose of SF but I don't mind the tracking and measuring....I just get tired of "points".

Yup, that is the one I remembered. I even remember who it was that was - she didn't follow us over here (I don't think.) That whole thing was beyond ridiculous. i think i remember who that was too, but not absolutely certain. i even remember the opposite, where there were certain members that were so pissed off at SP and getting so uptight over the fact that their previously 16 point restaurant breakfast meal with like 4 servings of main course was now 18 points on SP. some ridiculous comparison like that. it's like, ok hello, it was high point on PP too! don't blame SP for that!

I remember the Great Hot Chocolate Debacle. I also remember people getting really self righteous about anyone struggling on SP and automatically assuming it's because they ate their daily points in sugar. I struggled because of the good/ bad mental guilt trip I went on for choosing any high point food, even if it was healthy.
Btw in my meeting the new plan was alluded to. Someone said "oh yeah no more points". The leader was quick to say that wasn't true at all without giving it away. The mental zero point free for all already started.

azcristi, Are you doing SmartPoints now? Have you tried a PointsPlus app? I love my Ultimate Food Value Diary app. It looks a lot like the old tracker and has the GHG's. Yes, I am doing Smart Points right now. I'll admit I am struggling thru thanksgiving but moving on.

I remember the hot chocolate thing as well. I seem to recall very vaguely that the person in question was very upset about the increase in points for the hot chocolate and for some other things but basically it was just dictated by the formula penalizing sugar so heavily. I never felt there was anything wrong with having the hot chocolate, but I could see why the points went up on it and it was going to be hard to fit it in on a regular basis.

i think the hot chocolate person was the same person who had the freakout over the high SP (but also high PP) breakfast!

In fairness, I think there were very few people that were judgey of those who were struggling, especially as time went on and some of the plan haters showed with simple math how you could eat a very healthy diet staying within SPs and end up eating way to many calories.
There is going to be way less new plan drama here than the old boards. I always kind of enjoyed that (in small doses).

With WW allowing you to go to -10 on your dailies we won't hear anymore comments about not losing weight because you're not eatting all your points.

Given human mentality I wonder how many people will complain they aren't losing, because they're not tracking many or a lot of foods. What I mean is, for me tracking and portion control, weighing and measuring are intertwined. If 3 oz. of turkey are 1 point, 24 oz. are 12 points now, at 0 points for 24 oz. on the new plan, let's say, it's still 24 oz. of calories that can be overeaten. Or is my thinking off-base?

In fairness, I think there were very few people that were judgey of those who were struggling... You're right, most people were pretty decent. There was a core group of 3 or 4 at the main Men's board, however, who were rather self-impressed and judgemental of anyone who either asked the "wrong" questions or gave a "wrong opinion". One was considered the matriarch, another was just plain nasty and rude, another claimed to be an MD and prided himself on being an a-hole (he even had that in his signature), but if he was a doctor he was one I'd never go to. I had surgery and was not able to do the kinds of workouts I was doing for years. It messed with my head, and I backslid terribly. The matriarch went so far as to tell me (paraphrased) "that's what happens when you put so much emphasis on working out". I don't know what happened to them. I was surprised to see WW dump the whole boards and groups concept altogether.

Jainarayan, For sure there will be people who will not track zero point foods (even mentally) and will overeat. I've been trying to follow the new plan for the past couple of weeks and it has been very successful for me. BUT, I do dual track my calories and I've seen there can be huge calorie ranges for the same number of points depending on the amount of zero points eaten. So some people will struggle with this. And, needing to adjust to it is fine. It will take some trial and error. But, eventually people will have to realize that zero point doesn't meal free for all. And, honestly, in order to stay at goal long term you have to internally learn how to moderate eating. So there is something to be said for learning how to do it during the losing process as well.

I'm glad you found it to be working. It does seem like a radical change. The only WW plans I knew were what was offered in the 1970s, PP 2012 and SP. I don't know what PP 2010 or Core were like. I for one will still at least still weigh and measure as if the food had points, if not even log. If I didn't have a problem with eyeballing amounts I wouldn't be here to be having this conversation.

I think, even if they try, that people inherently know that they can't eat 3 chicken breasts at lunch and half dozen eggs at dinner and lose weight. maybe I am in a good spot because of my core background, and this new twist on the plan is allowing me to stress less and feel more, pay better attention to being mindful. I am also getting satisfied better now that I don't have to feel guilty about having a piece of homemade bread toasted with lunch. As with any new changes there are going to be weeks of bitching and itching and ooing and ahhing. I have already removed " following" on all the weight watchers facebook groups except 1. I for one have zero patience in putting up with millions of ppl asking the same question , especially when they don't know that there is a scroll button.

Jainarayan, I am sorry you went through that... You should have come over and hung out with us on the old Core board. Dang, we had an awesome group of people when it was core. I am finally getting used to these boards, but I do miss the WW boards still. I never hung out on the GDT boards, as there were some tough gals over there. I generally try to skip confrontation, especially in the virtual world.

yeah i never understood the over the top internet sassing that occurred on a handful of the forums at ww.com. i know some people here are/were really into the GDT board, but the few times i ventured over there, people were generally really unpleasant and annoying over THE MOST INNOCUOUS things. not even anything worth getting snarky over. i always did wonder if people were like that in real life or if they just use the internet as their outlet when no one can tell them to fuck off to their face.
