Hi everyone!
I'm gonna hit Freestyle hard this week and see how it goes. I did paper tracking last week (for PP) and when all the cookies and cupcakes and pizza and miscellaneous junk foods were staring me in the face, the fact that I could 'fit them in' didn't seem like a convincing argument anymore. I do like fitting in the occasional treat, but I'm going to use a week Freestyle to reign it in. Even with all the junk food the weight loss is looking good this week!
I'll try to get a veg in for lunch and dinner, that's the challenge right?
I hope everyone is doing well, and if not, feel free to vent! I feel you!

Hello irisinnia - Hope you get a good loss this week Please let us know how you like Freestyle. I really wish I could try it but I don't eat eggs or beans and most of the fish I eat is breaded, so I'm not sure it would be the best plan for me. I'm doing well on Momentum, so I'll just stick to that. The challenge was to eat a vegetable at lunch and dinner each day for the week, it was a good one for me since I rarely eat a vegetable at lunch. I'm glad to say I've done it all this week. I'm not sure I'll continue it everyday, but I want to try to at least eat a vegetable at lunchtime several times a week. I'm doing pretty well today, it's the last day of my week, so weigh-in tomorrow. I've lost some of the weight I gained last week when I was still off track, so I'm happy about that. I'm just trying to plan ahead for next week, because there are going to be lots of "food" days for me. I maybe have to just do my best and try to keep any weight gain as low as possible. Then get right back on track. I'll see how it goes. Hope everyone else is doing well today and on their plans.

Good morning
Sorry for being MIA over the weekend.
cj59, you did awesome with the veggies. I basically have been eating the veggie soup (but it has lots of veggies in it). I still need to work on it.
irisinnia, yes we did a veggie challenge. I think it has ended, but I am going to keep doing it. I need to be more mindful of that and fruit.
I did better last week on the free style. Made veggie soup with black beans and also a ground chicken chili dish. Both have lots of veggies and free stuff in it. I lost 1.6 at my meeting yesterday. Now for another good week.

Hi sunrose - Congratulations on the weight loss, sounds like Freestyle is working well for you. Hope you have a good week.
I think we all did good with the vegetable challenge, I'm going to try to keep up eating vegetables at some of my lunches.
Did you have another idea for a challenge this week? If not, I'd like to suggest a minimum daily step challenge, or if we don't have a Fitbit or Pedometer it could be a minimum amount of exercise. Each person can pick whatever their own minimum number works for them and try to do that much each day.
I've been challenging myself for December to have a minimum amount of daily steps on my FitBit and so far I've made it everyday, but I know this week is going to be challenging so it would help me to come in here each day to be accountable.
I weighed in today and lost most of the weight I'd gained a few weeks back. This week is going to be very challenging for me and I'm just going to try my best but I'm not going to deprive myself of some treats. If I do gain weight, I'll just work hard after the holiday to get it off and I'll stay on track as much as I can over this week and next week.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Good morning
cj59, I love the minimum daily step challenge. I try to get 10K in a day. I need that extra push right now. I did have a salad with lunch yesterday. I need to keep working on that until it becomes habit again. WTG with the weight loss!! Enjoy this time of year. You'll get it off after it has past.

Hi sunrose - thanks for accepting the challenge, we can help motivate each other. I had some vegetables at lunch today and plan some for tomorrow too, so I'm trying to incorporate those healthy changes into my week. I've met the minimum Fitbit steps I've set for myself this month every day so far - only 12 days left. I definitely won't try for as many steps next month, but this has been a good challenge for me. Hope everyone is doing well on their plans

Hey all!
I love my Fitbit and try for 10K. I don't always make it, only 8.6K today. But it's good for me to be mindful of how much I'm moving, and try to kick it up a notch. Especially since a 30 minute walk will net me over 2K. It's a good motivator.

Good morning
cj59, good for you meeting your goal this month! Good for you also working the veggies in.
irisinnia, I was 3 steps away from meeting my goal yesterday--gee. It is a good motivator.
A good friend passed away yesterday. Was a hard day for me. After hearing about my friend I am determined to get my act together in 2018. I am tired to hiding from friends because I am embarrassed about how much weight I have gained.

Hello Everyone
irisinnia - I love my Fitbit too. It has really motivated me to move more. I don't think I would have done as well these past 2 years without it.
sunrose - I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I stayed away from many visits with friends and family over the years when I was embarrassed about my weight. It's sad that we feel that way, when I'm sure they just wanted to spend time with us. I hope 2018 will be a better year for you.
I'm overeating some holiday foods today, and I knew I would be. I'm trying to limiting my overeating this week to just 2 or 3 days and then stay on track the other days. Hopefully I'll be successful at that. As long as I don't let the overeating lead to days of overeating I'll be happy.

Good morning
cj59, I was telling a friend last night at dinner how I felt. I think she thought I was a little vain, so thanks for understanding. I know how hard it is this time of year with food. I believe it should be enjoyed and try to rein it in a bit too. You are doing great.
Waving to all. WWLurker I miss you.

Hi sunrose - I really do understand how you feel. I missed some really significant family and friend events over the years just because of how being overweight made me feel. I can never get those chances back Hope you are doing well this week with food. So far this week, I've had 2 good days, 1 bad day and today is about 50/50. I've learned something about myself though - I can't bake these treats like I've been doing and/or have this higher point food in the house and not eat it. I can limit how much I'm eating of some of it, but I'm not strong enough to pass it up completely. So I have to decide if it's worth enjoying this food and moving on, or if I need to avoid it all together next year. I'm committed to doing the baking this year so I'll just enjoy it, especially after not doing any baking the last two years. I'm trying to stick to my healthy eating as much as I can today, tomorrow and Saturday, because I already know I'll be overeating on Sunday wwlurker - I miss you too, and if you ever stop in to read here I hope you know I wish you well and hope you'll be back posting some day. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans this week, the holidays are definitely a challenge.

Good morning
cj59, I didn't make cookies this year for exactly the reason you mentioned. I am not strong enough. BUT two neighbors gave me cookies and a friend of my DSon gave him cookies. They are all in the kitchen. Ugh. I only have 2 a day. I guess that's good. But then my DSon bought Domino's yesterday. Ugh again. I had two slices.
cj59, I don't like my picture taken. One friend keeps doing it. I wish she would respect how I feel. You are right about missing out.

Hi sunrose - Good for you not making the cookies this year. Hope you can keep it to a minimum with the cookies given to you. Pizza is my weakness, I can never resist it. Hang in there.
A relative sent me a Christmas gift - a box of 12 assorted brownies!!! I thought "Are you kidding me"? I might take these to a family party, it's just not safe for them to be in the house with me.
I don't like having my picture taken either. I feel like I have fake smile since I'm so uncomfortable and I always look so stiff in photos. Everyone wants to take one of me now when they see me because I've lost so much weight, but I still hate having my picture taken. So I understand how you feel.
Well, yesterday I was about 50 percent on program and 50 percent off. Today I'm about 40 percent on and 60 percent off. I guess if I can keep from going to 100 percent off, I'll consider that a success over this holiday. Next year, I have to limit the baking I do, probably just only making the fudge and maybe gingerbread and that's it. It's just not good for me to have all these baked goods in the house.
I am still meeting my minimum daily step challenge. I started on December 1st and have met it every day this month. My knee started bothering me some yesterday, so I hope I can keep this up until December 31st. Then I'm lowering my daily minimum to something more reasonable.
Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Happy Holidays. The scale was good to me and I had a 2 lb loss this week. I am all about Stars Wars with my thinking this year. "Do or do not. There is no try." Gotta love Yoda. I have all of my weeklies saved for tomorrow, which will have the biggest food challenges. Good luck to everyone meeting their holiday goals. Ringing in the New Year weighing less than last year feels good. Hopefully, I can say the same thing again a year from now.
