Good Morning! Up way too early this morning. Today at work we will have a pizza lunch and talk about the year ahead for this program they have. It called "Lean". It's some crazy thing they have all the employees do. Its supposed to help you be more efficient in your job. They have books you have to read then answer questions, then they have conference calls about that chapter. One of the girls on my team had to facilitate the conference call yesterday. She was not very happy about that. I got some more details on why the girl at work got fired. Seems it was more personal then was work related. But my thought is they couldn't fire her is they didn't have a reason. Hell I've seen her do things that would give her a reason to get fired. But our Team Lead and her were friends and Jenny (the girl who got fired) pushed her away and stopped being her friend. That is supposedly why she got fired. But you know there is always 2 sides to every story.
It is warming up and staying that way all next week. Not winter weather but I'll take it. in the 60s for the next 5 -6 days.
There was a bad accident on the way to work yesterday. One person was laying on the payment, in the street, and people were trying to help. I always say a little prayer when I pass those things.

Sue, are you going for a swim tonight too? Thought you said you went last night. I know how you enjoy swim time with the GKs. I would love one of those fridges that you mentioned. I don't know if they would fit in the spot in my kitchen. We have not had very good luck with appliances. This is our 3rd Fridge in 18 years being here. After the first year the ice maker quit working, got it fixed and last year it quit and we are back to making ice cubes old school way. The space in our kitchen for the fridge isn't very big. Your 2 lbs will be off as quick as it came on. I've been noticing my rings are tighter lately too. Flush with water!
Gabrielle, how did all that driving go yesterday. Is it a full moon AND Friday the 13th? LOL I laughed at your wanting to go to sleep listening to Cookie's podcast. She does have a very calming voice. I really try to focus on the content of what she is saying. Its been very helpful. Yes Heather is much more animated. there is only so much I can get out of her interviewing someone else. I like Cookies because she is actually giving you info on stuff to do to help you get your mind straight to loose the weight.
We went for a walk again yesterday....didn't see anyone or get asked for money this time.....

Carole, good luck with the Colonoscopy today. Hey don't worry about work and what didn't get done. They would do the same thing to you. You need to have a back up too! Any plans for that first meal after you are done? Yes I would want to be alone for that last part too. I Hear the prep is the worst part. Hope all goes well. Yes good idea to stay upstairs during their pizza dinner. You have gas stations that pump gas for your? You can't find one of those around here. That is Steve's job! He makes sure the vehicles have gas. I better not have to pump any. Not my thing. Glad no one commented on the blinds. I thought of you when the sun was shining in my part of the window in my eye. Just moved over.
Oh, Sue, apparently TN is raising our gas tax too. Not as high at PA but still.
Lisa, good for your for getting to the gym. You can master those Google docs.
Shelly, thats what I was thinking about the podcast. I just love the FB group and the people in there though. Thats usually the way it goes when dealing with the public, smooth then one crazy to ruin the day. Glad yesterday went smoother for you. yes being sore is a good thing. Yes we went for our walk yesterday. It was nice. We go for a 1/2 hour, then eat when we get back. it really does curb your appetite to WO before eating.
Well I better get off here. Time to jump in the shower.

Morning Jo and all to follow...bet Carole is sleeping in today since her colonscopy isn't until lunchtime or so....lucky girl!!!
Never did make it back yesterday...went to the pool for a swim since I can't go tonight because of Dutch Apple. Wanted to make sure I got at least 3 days in just in case the snow tomorrow is early and cancels basketball. If it's snowing I won't leave the house.
Hope today flies by...I"m so exhausted from a week of terrible sleep...just don't know what my issue is lately....I go to bed yawning, fall right to sleep and then couple hours later I'm awake, looking at the ceiling....been like that all week.
I"m a little sore today...might be back to back workouts....
Need to pack breakfast & snacks, someone at work is bringing lunch!! Not sure what it is but I don't have to cook or pack!!
Waves to everyone...going to try to read, but no personals for now!

Good morning to you all!
Sidney is happily chewing on a bone this morning, and I have the door to my bedroom closed LOL -- DH is with him. I just needed a minute.
I have had a rough week - super busy with work & too much to do with year end all around. I am grateful for the upcoming long weekend.
Good luck to Carole on your procedure today!
Sorry Sue for the lack of sleep, that's always rough!
Oh Gosh, Jo - I'll have to go back to read about you getting asked for money on your walk - LOL. I enjoy the HSM podcasts (remember those are free!) -- so you'd miss out on the community meetings and courses and of course the FB group if you cancelled the membership...I'm finding I get more out of the community meetings lately than I do the regular podcast - because she focuses on topics rather than people. This whole month is back to basics (this week was all about tracking and a LOT of it resonated with me!) -- she talked about how she went from paper (points) to the WW app (points) to MFP (calories) and now to MFP and macros...what hit me the most was how I let the METHOD get in the way of the reason for tracking in the first place. I have never been as GOOD at tracking my food as I was when I paper tracked my points when that's all there was (pre-I phone!) -- so now when I try to go back there and fail, I give up all together - LOL.
I did cancel my WW monthly pass AGAIN. As a lifetime member I can go and weigh in once a month if I really want to, and as long as I do that I can go to the meetings -- but I haven't been making the time for it. Somewhere over the course of the last month I figured out that I have gotten comfortable at this weight -- well, everything except my wardrobe which is way too limited right now - and I am working on the small habit changes rather than the radical things I thought I needed to do to get the weight off.
Anyway, waving hello to everyone. I need to get going. I am also trying to get to work on time. I've only been successful at that once this year so far -- LOL.

TGIF... GOOD MORNING JO! ☼ SUNNY and 36 here in Western Mass... and I LOVE IT! Too bad I am stuck inside "preppin" for today - but just sitting here with the sun coming up... and it's supposed to be a nice day today - getting colder later, but while we are out and about it should be GOOD!!
Oh I hope the people in the accident yesterday are OK.
Yes, always two sides to everything... this "LEAN" sounds interesting... not in a good way! LOL Sorry... I just want a JOB where I go to work - do my job - come home... let go of all the "extra" "Hoopla" and let me work!
We don't have luck with appliances either... but then again, we don't replace them as often as it seems, I guess... I need a fridge with water/ice dispenser... but hate my side/side...too small... would LOVE a freezer on the bottom, with or without french doors... but they are STILL kind of big and boxy for my space...
LOL I AM flushing with water...tea...seltzer...but fingers STILL feel "puffy"...
To be honest Jo - the prep is the worst part... and even that is not as bad as everyone tells you it is... co-worker yesterday again told me how she lost 11# when she had hers... I NEVER lose a LOT of weight... even if I did I know it would be back with the first meal I enjoy after! LOL
This is the gal that just WANTS everyone to see her as younger/thinner/smarter than she really is!
Yes, I have ONE LOCAL station, only open like 5:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and he is definitely not busy... because of the price... but I am willing to pay extra...at this point... as I HATE to pump gas!
YAY for enjoying the walk and it curbing your eating!!
Sue: Yep, slept "in" a bit... could have stayed in bed longer but had to finish my last 5 oz of prep before 7:30 AM... now finishing my coffee, as I can't have ANYTHING after 8:30...
LOL Yes procedure is 12:30, but have to be there at 11:45 which means leaving here around 10:30...it's all good... no complaints here!
Oh I HOPE you all get to swim tomorrow before the storms come in!!
Enjoy your lunch today - hoping it is easy to track for you!! Dutch Apple too!

NADINE! Nice to "see" you! LOL I enjoy the weekly HSM meetings too, but can't listen to them in the car... they get to a certain "spot" and seem to quit on me... must be the spotty service around here?
YES, keep those small changes coming, and you will get where you want to be {{{{{hugs}}}}}...

Shelly: I hope you don't get hit too hard with ice... but YAY to a busy day at the store! LOL Sorry business comes with bad weather!
Sorry for the blip on your scale... mine this week has progressively been going UP... between back to eating regular meals... and too nights of sodium... it was bound to happen!
Do you fill your bathtub when you might lose power? We do - for flushing toilets... I also have several jugs in the kitchen "just in case"...cause we have our gas grill on the back porch - so IF I HAVE TO I WILL make tea water out there!! LOL

Good morning! Figured I better hop on at home because I know that work is going to be crazy this morning! I am confident I can handle google docs - I am thinking that they haven't even given me access to the forms the other office administrator is working with, but I am eager to get up to speed on how things work these days and shed that retiree mindset!
Taking my gym bag with me, yes! It is on my agenda after work, also getting groceries because if they are right in the weather predictions, the ice is going to keep us home a lot this weekend.
Small changes do add up to big results!!! Now to my oatmeal with is probably getting cold...bbl! Have a great FRIDAY!!!!

OK Think I will go back upstairs and rest" until time to shower and get going... will CBL if I can!
Oh someone asked... meal plan after the procedure? No "plan" per say, but will eat... then getting some groceries at Aldi's as long as we are down that way - so may bring home some chicken I can cook up quickly... DD want fish fillets... breaded/greasy that are on sale...we'll see... I might give in to that for tonight - easier - and move towards healthier tomorrow!
Tomorrow is my day at home to prep for next week... she has a list for shopping she will do while I am in for the procedure... I think she did most of the menu for next week! Mostly from WW recipes I have printed out on the kitchen island!

Good morning! It is 31 degrees today which makes it colder in CA than it is in Western MA!! How about that? LOL, it is clear and that is why it's so cold. Since it was soaking wet, I expect a lot of ice and some slow driving. That's okay--nice to have a break from the rain! This morning we meet with DS17 and the IS teacher. Looking forward to having that under my belt. DS seems to be getting better with it all....with teenage moodiness, I have no idea what we'll experience after the meeting today. I am looking forward to planning out his days with him. He is talking about using the gym in the mornings.....if this all happens like he is talking, then I am wondering why I didn't do it a long time ago. Sometimes the traditional things just don't work for all kids and I have one of those kiddos.
No WO this morning as I will do it on my way home later this afternoon--it was nice to get a little more sleep. I know that we are ALL glad that it is Friday. In CA, we celebrate MLK day on Monday so we have a 3-day weekend...yahoo!

Jo: Thanks for starting us today---sorry about the poor sleep though. At least it is Friday so maybe you can sleep better tomorrow morning? Interesting about the firing of Jenny (I think that was her name?)....yes, two sides to every story and who knows unless you hear directly from those involved, right? It's amazing how easily rumors can get started. So, it sounds like the LEAN process you are looking at might be kind of like the LEAN process we have been implementing at the hospital for years. At the hospital, we use it when we identify a place where things don't seem to be happening as efficiently as they could be. I can tell you that, after it has been done and if it is done right, the employees have told us that they were amazed at how much time they saved and pleased with the results. This doesn't mean though that it is fun at the time! I will tell you that, if your office is doing it the way that our hospital has, all of the employees in the department get to provide input and they really like that. Hope that it works for you and your department! I think that the employees know their job functions better than anyone else and should be involved. LOL about pumping gas....I think that DH has maybe filled my tank 10 times in the 26 years that we've been married. Now I have diesel and (thankfully) it is not as messy as it used to be years ago. There are other things though that I REQUIRE DH to do Hope that you have a good day today--maybe get some walking in? Not sure what your weather is like.....hey, thanks for reminding me...I forgot that it was Friday the 13th!

Carole: Thanks for checking in! They had pizza last night? I think that they should have gone out for that! Sounds like you handled it well! I have only had one colonoscopy, but didn't mind the prep too much either. I would have had a 10-year break, but I was diagnosed with my thyroid cancer only about 5 days after my colonoscopy so the doc said he'd do it in 5 years for peace of mind. Can you believe that I thanked him, LOL? I am so glad that you are letting go of your work things---you are right, it is Amanda's problem to get the end-of-the-month report done. Sometimes NOT doing those things is the only way that they really figure it all out. Are the girls coming over tomorrow morning? I know that it is also your "planning" day for the week. NO I did NOT track....ugggh... I have hit a wall with this. I will try again today. I just haven't worked it all out in my head (for some reason). It needs to be my ONE goal. Hope that you have a quick procedure and a good afternoon!

Sue: I remember that you were going to try to get your swimming in tomorrow before basketball...right? I am sure that two days in a row would make you sore. Especially since you are getting back into it. It's a "good" sore, right? I know how much you love Dutch Apple--nice way to start the weekend!
Lisa: Wow, sounds like the Ramsey course is a hefty load--sounds like it is worth it though. Hope that you can apply it. I LOVE Google Docs! I was the person who oversaw our rollout to Google about 5 years ago in the school district. I trained a lot of people and found that, once they figured out how the "cloud" worked and the collaborative ability, people got it and it worked well. I know you will get it! There are so many training videos online too. Glad that you and DH could try out the new place--sounds like a nice evening. Good job sharing the pizza and making it a light dinner--lifetime habits! Hope that you have a good day.
