Hello everyone, I stayed up last night as I couldn't sleep and at 3 a.m. I was rolling balls of yarn. I am not going to knit that b/blanket, it is not a difficult pattern and there is just one row that you need to watch where you can make mistakes, After I started knitting I remembered knitting that pattern before. If you make a mistake on that one row it takes time to find the mistake and fix it. I just don't want to be bothered with it. So I will start another b/blanket not sure witch pattern. This afternoon I went to find 2 mugs in gift boxes as I have a couple of gift exchanges coming . I put Hershey's kisses in the mugs. and now I need to gift wrap them.
Ruth, Our temps are in the mid to low 60s so I can't complain. I cannot imagine what it must be like in Southern Ca. with all the fires. Do you have snow ? I saw in the news that the weather in the N. East is going to get really bad. I hope you are home and safe and that you don't have to go out. Have you found the missing thread yet? Don't worry it will show up.
cj, I am glad you can stay home and watch some good Hallmark movies, I don't like driving in the snow, but I don't have to worry about it here. We may get some ice on the roads but I probably stay home if there is ice to worry about.
Ginny, I would not like to have a friend who called me sweetie all the time. My cards have still not gone off. An hour or so at the hairdressers will make you feel great. I think I signed up for All Free Crochet. I am going to have to check out that Barcelona yarn...If I remember.
Phyl. I hope you are home warm and comfortable and pain free.
Good night

Meg, I haven't got my cards done yet either but at least I made a list of who to send to. I have 13 on my list. I don't think I forgot anyone.I definitely am going to do the cards tomorrow and would have done it today but the paper I wanted to use to write the notes and letters on was downstairs. I was going to wrap the things I need to pack and send but the wrapping paper also was downstairs. Dh was sleeping and I don't like to wake him up.
I was doing a little crocheting earlier. Just was making a potholder or hotpad whichever you call it. I see then called by either name online. This one is interesting because you crochet it in such a way that it turns out nice and thick. I can't even explain it on here so that you know what I'm saying. You crochet into the back loop of your single crochet at the same time grabbing the loop from the stitch on the row second row down...not a long or spike stitch..that's different.
Meg I would give up on that blanket too because it's something you want to just be able to pick up and work on and take to Knitwits with you so you don't want to be hunting for mistakes and ripping out rows. And it's to be donated, right? So you don't want or need anything complicated.
I'm definitely planning on finishing my Christmas crochet projects too this week at least and maybe tomorrow. I don't have much to do on them so should just get busy and do it but I just don't feel like doing it now.

Good Morning!
CJ- yup, I am sure the Virginia area lived up to the insanity yesterday during the snow fall. Glad you were able to enjoy it- like Ruth said, its a great image we all have of you drinking tea, watching a good movie and checking out the pretty snow fall from time to time. Hope you had a great day and enjoyed yourself.
Ruth, well while you are looking for that yarn, see if you can find my Christmas cards!!!! I remember how nice and organized I was last year, packed them away.....and now cannot figure out what logical place I put them in. Probably some logical place like my daughters wedding rings. Ha ha ha. Hope you find your yarn-yes it will show up!!!
Ok so we went to see the Marshall Tucker band last night- also dinner out with our friends. Concert was really not worth the ticket money- I am rather surprised at how the band (with only one original member who seemed to be rather drunk) could put on an hour and a half concert, having performed only 2 of their big hits. And the other songs just extended instrumental versions with minimal vocalization. Had a good evening , but honestly I think I would have rather have stayed home.
Gonna look for those cards. Think Dh and I might be going out for some Christmas shopping.
BBL Ginny

Well Ginny, I do hope you find your cards and also have great success shopping. I have a terrible time figuring out what to get for people so it's my good reason for not buying for many people anymore.Luckily for me my cards were right where I left them.Stillhaven't found the yarn. I do remember that it was down in a bag or small bin but I've looked thru all of them and it's not there but, as you all said, it will show up sometime. I'm sorry that the band wasn't good but it sounds like you had a good time anyway so that's good but I know what you mean about wishing you had just stayed home. There's nothing like relaxing at home with those you love.
This potholder I'm working on is just really nice. The first two rows are quite hard but once you get past those it's great and makes a very nice potholder. I think I'll make a bunch of these...as I said...for famiy and friends.I especially want to make some for my friend who sent us homemade candy several times. She used to knit and was a beautiful knitter but she''s had hand issues and has had to have surgery on her hands so hasn't knitted.
It's a beautiful day here today. Warmer than some parts of Florida. Nice and sunny but the only drawback is the wind which isn't terrible but enough to make it hard to walk uphill
I again left the wrapping paper downstairs so will have to wait for wrapping and writing letters but I have no excuse for not finishing those three Christmas things so will get to that. It will be great to have all the "must do" things done.
Have a great and safe day all

Hello Crafters - Hope you are enjoying your Sunday Ginny - I hope you find your cards. The last time I did some decluttering work I made sure to put all my cards in one place, since they were a mess before. Ruth - I have trouble figuring out what to get people too. So I mostly just rely on gift cards, but even those are sometimes difficult to pick out. Meg - Hope you can find another pattern you'd like to work on. Good for you getting some of your gifts together. I'm completely unmotivated to do anything Christmas card or gift related. I hate it when I'm in this type of mood, it's makes doing the cards and gifts a chore and not a pleasure which is how I think they should be. Hopefully I'll snap out of this and get moving Take care everyone!

CJ, I never get excited about Christmas anymore I never have the Christmas feeling and never feel like doing cards or gifts. Yes gift cards are hard esp if people live out of town because you don't know what places they have there. You can look it up online but many times it's not accurate.Plus if you give a gift card to a restaurant for instance, there are so many people on very limited diets now that you don't know if it's a place they will eat.
I did get two packages wrapped and in mailers. One is even addressed but I need to address the other. Then I have to check the remote control toy I'm sending to my 4 year old dgs. We sent him one for his bday but it didn't work so I'm sending him a replacement but want to make sure it works first. If it works I'll pack it and some Christmas beanie babies up and get it ready to mail.

It is a beautiful sunny afternoon and I am home with DD and Devin. Devin spent the night with his other DGM and his Dad brought him back a little while ago. Then DD arrived. DSis working and Devin's Mom is off shopping. I did start another B/blanket last nigh and got quite a lot done. It is the dish cloth pattern or sometimes called the diagonal pattern. I knit it with 2 strands of yarn do it goes pretty fast. Colors I am using are blue and yellow.
Ginny, My Christmas cards are still on the kitchen table and I just don't feel like writing them . My hand writing is very poor and an effort. But I do enjoy hearing from old friends. Besides if I don't send them people will think I died. I hope you find your cards. Otherwise people will think you died when they don't hear from you. So keep looking. Sorry the band wasn't great but at least you had good company and good food.
cj, I gave up on the pattern and I am doing the pattern that is good for mindless knitting. I don't enjoy having to follow a pattern and count stitches all the time. I guess I am lazy. I guess I am also unmotivated but DS & DGD & Devin are all motivated so I will let them get on with it. But sending the cards is my job. This might be the last year for me to send them.
Ruth, I think as we get older Christmas is not as exciting as when we were younger and we should let the younger folk do a lot of the preparation. Of course Devin can hardly wait. Now I have to go as Devin wanrs the computer.
Have a good evening.

Good evening!
Ruth, you are far ahead of me, betting some gifts wrapped and ready to mail. It all gets done, little by little.
MEg- indeed that new baby afghan should go quickly, if you are working with 2 strands. Blue and yellow are so pretty. (I like yellow a lot). I wonder if you could generate a computer letter to include in your cards to personalize them. It might make things easier than writing a personalized note.
CJ- do you work well under pressure? Perhaps you need that little kick or the pressure of time to get your inspired.
Well, I cannot find my cards. Will go pick up more tomorrow and some night this week I will end up forcing myself to just get them all done.
Got a b it of shopping done with Dh today. A good productive day. Watching a football game with him now, and getting some crocheting done. G

Well my battery ran down on my computer and the cord was downstairs so I did get some things done. I got the two presents wrapped and put in mailers ready to go and I got all the letters for in the cards written, put in the cards and the cards sealed and addressed. I have two more to do because these ladies are "people of color" so I don't want to send them a card with a white Holy family on it. My other cards were...you guessed it..downstairs. So I'll do those two later tonight or probably tomorrow and all will be ready.. well I found that the remote control vehicle didn't work so I'll tape up and address the box with the beanies in it and THEN all will be ready to mail.Dh is on Amazon right now looking for radio control vehicles. I have to remember to tell him to have it sent directly to my ds' home instead of here. I also got that potholder done and I gotta say they are really nice.
Meg, I'm sure Devin is excited about Christmas. He's at the right age and I hope he continues to be excited about Christmas for many more years. As far as Christmas cards go, as I was doing a couple of the cards I was wondering if the recipients were still alive. I guess I won't find out unless I get the card back as undeliverable or of course if I get a card from them then I'll know they are still around
Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you had a productive day and got some shopping done. Sorry about the cards. They probably got lost among the things you had to move to have the floors done Now when they show up you can put them away for next year.
