Good morning all. Seeing as I'm up, I thought I'd throw open the Cafe doors, starts the coffee and wait for y'all to join me in 'waking up' LOL.
Today is Friday the 13th! Means nothing to me, except it's the beginning of a new WW'er week for me and I plan to make the best of it.
While at my meeting yesterday, a member shared a website with us called stop breathe think. I signed up for it and will add that to my 'new routine' along with putting on my 'new member cap'. Hopefully it will help in keeping my mind in a better and happier place. We shall see.
Wishing all a great day.
Ciao

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I have a 3-day weekend as we don't have school on Monday. I am looking forward to that to get some extra rest. I posted last evening about my doctor's visit and how reassuring he was and how encouraged I am. Now if I add some extra rest into the mix of antibiotics and decongestants, there is light at the end of my tunnel. I slept very well last night which is always a PLUS!
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe and putting on the coffee. It is delicious (as always). I can certainly relate to that "keeping my mind in a better and happier place". Some days are easier than others, but it is what it is. Fortunately we keep adding new tools to our toolbox to help us. GFY!
I finished my book (on my Kindle) at the doctor's office yesterday. I actually remembered to take it with me and since I had a long wait it came in very handy. I had a couple of errands to run on the way there and neither one took as long as expected, so I was half hour early - then waited in the waiting room and then in the exam room. But it was worth it. And now I get to pick a new book from my Kindle library (way too many choices).
DH and I will be celebrating with dinner at Red Lobster tonight. We married on a Friday the 13th; and for 25 years have commemorated each one with a dinner out. This year there are only two (February and October) so we don't want to miss one. I wish I felt better, but perhaps by evening I will?
BBL. Make a great day!

Good morning, Ann...I have a *Breathe* app, I still can *forget* to breathe, LOL, but I think it's a great tool. I think I will always have to remind myself that food doesn't make anything easier/better...I've got 55 years of one behavior to balance 7 years of another. I listened to a meditation yesterday on *letting go of limiting thoughts* that was so helpful. Why can one day be so different from another? Of course, I think mine was getting to look like a slug all day and not having to keep a timetable.
I'm in pretty good shape for Bradana's visit tonight, even showing J where everything was in case I'm sitting down with my leg up. I just need to clean the bathroom as I finish in there.
I am a little anxious about my injection, but definitely ready; I was on my feet a lot yesterday and was aching when I went to bed...a double Advil night, LOL, but I really try to avoid them.
Sue, I'm so glad you found your PCP was encouraging and comforting. I think after I cycle through this group of appts, I've got to start looking for new doctors. I do like my PCP (Feb appt) but she's not so amazing I need to drive 40 minutes each way to see her. One of the discombobulations of moving so much is never feeling much connection to my doctors, but I still have to be glad to see them, LOL.
Everyone have a good one, and send me some bravery juju!

Kathy ~ Good Morning! I do find my PCP very helpful and there is a trust bond between us, which is important to me. I am fortunate that I've had the same one for about 20 years which is a plus for me. I do hope you have a relaxing day - and definitely enjoy your evening with Bradana! Sorry to hear that knee pain plagued you last night, but hopefully not today. Take care!

Good morning Ann, Sue, Kathy, and all who follow! Sue, I'm so glad you had a good visit with your PCP yesterday. I think it's wonderful that you have such a good relationship with him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this round of antibiotics does the job to finally get rid of that infection. You have been suffering with this far too long. Your Dr. is wise to note that it's not surprising you would be depressed due to feeling poorly for so long. Enjoy your Friday the 13th anniversary dinner tonight! I love that you and DH celebrate every Friday the 13th! Kathy, sending you lots of bravery juju for your injection today. Enjoy your visit with Bradana tonight. It sounds like you are all set for them. By the way, homemade chex mix is one of my favorite things! Also, you summed up Nick Sabin perfectly--he is a good coach but... Ann, thank you for starting us up! I always enjoy seeing that you have opened up the cafe doors and started the coffee. Wishing you a happy Friday. I'm not sure what is on our agenda for today. Right now we are waiting for the TV repair guy to come, and I'm doing laundry. Even though we're on "vacation", we still have to do the mundane things! I need to remind myself to stop eating like we're on vacation, too. So far my weight is good, but I definitely need to get back to my "normal" as far as eating goes. Waving to everyone and wishing all a good day! Carol

Ann, it is always good to be reminded to stop, breathe and think. Like Lathy, I use a Breathe app that reminds me to breathe. I just have to figure out how to program it to stop me from talking before I think. Sometimes my snarky New Yorker hits town before my nice Midwesterner knows what is happening. Kathy, I wouldn't want an 80 minute round trip to see my PCP. I like him but ... I hope the injection gives you relief and your visit with Bradana lifts your spirits. One day can be totally different than the next. I wake up some days and feel so tired and other days I jump out of bed raring to go. Fortunately, most days these past couple of weeks have been "let's go" days. I am sure getting past the holiday sugar binge has a lot to do with it. Sue, I am glad you feel encouraged after seeing the PCP. I love your tradition of celebrating your wedding very Friday the 13th. Yesterday was our 36th anniversary. We will have to celebrate when Iggy returns and gets over his jet lag-probably next weekend. Carol, unless one wins the lottery and can hire people to do our chores and errands, I guess we are all stuck with doing them ourselves, huh? I hope you don't have to wait too long for the repair person. After all, there's a beach waiting. Waving to the rest of the gang...

Sue so happy that you are feeling better and got a good sleep. That as we all know is key to feeling good all day long. Happy you have the 3 days weekend. That reminds me, that I started at City Hall the day after MLK day way back when LOL........In 1984 to be exact! My how time flies...... I never go out the door without my kindle LOL. I read in the car all the time as I'm not a good passenger and that helps. Yeah on your great doctor's visit. It's so nice when they actually comment on weight loss. Enjoy your Friday the 13th dinner. I had a gal working for me that used to take EVERY Friday the 13th off...she was 'afraid' to go out of the house on that day LOL.
Kathy I too have all those memories of being so over weight to deal with. We've come a long way LOL. Happy that you feel ready for Bradana's visit! Always a plus when you can sit and enjoy company like that. Also hoping that the shots help with the knee pain. I still travel into Worcester to see our PCP as he IS worth it. If not, I would have stopped long ago. I don't believe in being 'married' to a physician...once I feel they no longer 'have my back' they are fired!
Carol, unfortunately 'chores' always find us!!!! Reminds me of the saying 'you can run but you can't hide' LOL. Have fun getting all those pesky things done so that you can enjoy yourself. I also hear ya on getting back to your 'normal'. I'm taking BABY STEPS with you to find mine once again.
LOL Chele, I hear you LOUD and CLEAR on that. I sometimes need to remind myself to 'put my MIND in gear before putting my MOUTH in action'....all I can say is some situations/days are better than others.....
I'm happy to report that KC and I did a FULL HOUR of dancing LOL, so I got my exercise in for the day. My head (and body) is in a much better place. Now to plan my meals.....
Baby steps for me to take my life back......not following 'program' isn't going to make the call from the doctor's office come any quicker. I need to BREATHE and keep myself happy.....That is my mantra for today.
Thanks for listening!

TGIF friends!
Ann, glad it's the start of a new day for you and I hope it's a good one! So funny about the co-worker who would not leave the house on Friday the 13th. LOL My parents were both born on the 13th - one in February and one in October and we always loved Friday the 13ths for that reason. I am going to check out Stop Breathe and Think. All great words to live by - literally!
Sue- Happy Anniversary and have fun celebrating tonight. I love hearing about you and your DH. You sound like the ideal couple and so sweet. I am also so relieved and happy to learn that your PCP put your mind at ease and good grief--who would not be down after four months of pain? I think you've been remarkably upbeat all things considered and just as thoughtful as can be. What are you reading on your Kindle now? I started Nora Webster and I like it so far. It has that little bit of Irish maudlin thinking in it, but I'm a good part Irish so I can say that!
I also have a 3-day weekend. Yahoo! We may or may not head to the Cape. I have my book club tonight at a friend's and then my beautification session at the hairdresser's tomorrow. Greys are popping through---it happens overnight! I thought we might stay home and begin going through the basement clutter, but DH saw a great estate sale on the Cape that he wants to check out --so we can collect more clutter...lol. Not really--but if there is something beautiful there that we can't live without, it'll be worth it. This one has some amazing art work and other very unique lamps, etc. Not to mention many designer shoes that I could not wear EVEN if I could afford and want them--Louboutin, etc. My Clarks work just fine...lol
Kathy, your Chex mix sounds great. I love that stuff. MY DSIL makes a version she calls Nuts and Bolts. So good! Have fun with Bradana tonight and I hope the gel injection helps ease the pain. No cartilage sounds excruciating. Glad you like your doctor, and I also believe it's worth it to travel for great care. Like Ann, I have had the same PCP for 30 years and we've grown old together. He's so terrific to both DH and me. DH saw him yesterday for his physical and DH actually was telling him about my weight loss. Our doc told him to eat what I am eating! :-) I just want to protect that PP, s you called it, Kathy. It is SO easy to backslide and I am fighting that daily.

Hi Chele, hope you are having a good day today, too.
Carol, get those pesky chores done and hit the beach. At least you have that to motivate you! My motivation is to read and watch - binge watch - lol - my shows.
Kathy, I want to watch VIctoria, too. I loved the Queen and also the Crown!

Good Morning:
Ann: I doubt my WW meeting happened this week but I wonder if I’ll see a huge group when I go later this month. Typically large groups at WW and at the gym in January. By March it’s mostly just the die hards who are in it for the long haul. Stop, Breathe, Think sounds like a great idea. And I love it that you dance for exercise. I know our bodies benefit from exercise but for me it seems like my mind benefits even more. Wishing you calm and peace today Ann.
Kathy: Victoria sounds great. I am going to record that for sure. Thanks! I hope your injection goes well and is very helpful! Feeling nervous about it is understandable.
Carol: Vacation eating is challenging for me too when we travel and now I have added retirement eating—telling myself that every day is not a vacation just because I don’t go to work. Just the fact that you are aware and prioritizing your health is great.
Sue: Great, reassuring visit with PCP who will follow you through to your normal good health. Yay on the BMI. I smiled and nodded at your color coded chart. “That’s so Sue,” I thought. I am certain the doctor appreciated it as well and that you have a better treatment plan because you gave the doc such clear info. Happy Anniversary. Love it!
Judy: Yay on the 3 day weekend. I know you’ll enjoy it. The winter boots I bought this year (first real boots for me) are Clarks. They’ve been great and were a good deal at an Outlet Store near us.
Chele: Nope. Not slighted if not spoken to by name. I’m wondering about your new avatar. Inquiring minds want to know.
Television: Thanks for the This Is Us info. I found it and we watched the pilot again. DH didn’t remember it at all. I did as soon was it got going but had forgotten that Alan Thicke was on it! That was so sad. DH joined me and we’re in a few episodes. It’s pretty heavy and the time thing is disorienting but I think we’re hooked enough that we’ll continue. So I thought The Queen and The Crown were the same…guess not.
We have lots of ice now—not the ice storm ice from before but compact snow that turns to ice. We’re having cold temps, sun and high wind. My trekking poles were great! Just the thing. Dressing is tricky. It reminds me of when I used to cross country ski. So easy to overdress and yet I need warm enough clothing for when we walk near the fields where the icy wind really screams. I was overdressed yesterday so will adjust today.
We went 2 days with no mail, no newspaper, and the garbage company left a voice mail that basically said “fagettaboutit—put your containers away—we’re not coming for your garbage people!” To say we’re not used to snow is an understatement!

Judy enjoy your 3 day weekend! I also LOVE clark shoes. They work for me.
OMG Carolyn I had to LOL about not being used to 'snow' is an understatement!!!! Indeed it's true. Stay safe and warm.
Going to shut down now and relax. Later we're going to visit our neighbor.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day!

Carolyn, I love how you exercise regardless of wind, snow or ice. You are just like the Pony Express! :-) But, I chuckled about the garbage man. Fogettaboutit! Here the problem is where to put the garbage out after a big snow because the snow's piled too high at the end of the driveway and it's an issue for people. I was thinking Kathy meant the movie the Queen - about the time after Princess Diana died and then the Crown is the latest Netflix show about the Queen throughout her life. Only season I is ready here. I loved that whole thing. Also, I have to concur that the color coded charts were very "Sue". I dream about having your organizational skills, Sue!
Ann, glad we are all of the same ilk with our Clarks shoes. Love em too. I have their boots, too, and love them. Wearing some today.
Ciao, ciao, ciao.

Carolyn, that is a picture of the University of Dayton. Stay warm!
Judy, I forgot to congratulate you on the loss. Yay!
I also enjoyed the Crown and am looking forward to Queen Victoria.
It is time for the afternoon Teddy show. I am late for his performance and he is expressing his displeasure. And people wonder why I call him His Royal Tinyness.

LOL Chele on his royal Tinyness....too funny. Judy I'll have to look into their boots.
Had a nice time having tea with one of our neighbors. We had a nice chat. She and DH invited Carl and I over for a glass of wine later on, but I declined. All I want to do after supper is get comfy cozy and either read or watch a movie.
Hope all enjoy the rest of their Friday.
Talk tomorrow!
