Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

DH said when he got up this morning it was -15! Think I'll stay in until afternoon. A lazy morning, but I need to get a bunch of fabric photographed & listed that I'm selling for a friend. And get my craft stuff sorted, photographed, and listed. Have a pile of caps to send Carol, but not sure she will need. Guess I'll tell her to hold onto them or donate, up to her. Need to get that box ready to mail. Sending her a few toys the girls have outgrown, mostly construction stuff and cars. Maybe find a few books too.
Stay safe in all the nasty weather everyone. Will check in later.

Good Morning! The freezing rain has started here. There were multiple accidents on a nearby Interstate that shut it down. There have been bunches of other accidents and, at least, one of them fatal. I've been busy this a.m. Made a concocted SW Chicken soup based on ingredients I had on hand and several different recipes as guidelines...besides chicken, there's a package of steamer brown/wild rice w/veggies, some frozen onion/bell pepper & corn, a can of rotel and one of black beans, chicken broth, fiesta taco seasoning and who knows what else! LOL Corn bread mix is out on the counter to mix and bake next. A load of L has been washed and dried (still need to put some of it away) and dishes have been washed...two different times. I turned up the thermostat a few degrees. Our friends in Salem, Mo may get over an inch of ice accumulation the next couple of days. As far as I know, the STL metro is still in the 1/3rd to 1/2 range. MODOT trucks are still just doing the interstates (heard that on the police scanner) and haven't done anything to the state highways since yesterday when they pre-treated them. It's kind of funny...many of my area FB friends are cooking this morning! JOYCE - sounds like you are encountered some of our recent temperature fluctuations! RUTH - Oh dear! I'll keep the ice (if we can keep our power). I don't think I'd go out even if it did warm up there....to what....0 or +5?? LOL Good luck with the new listings. Dottie - Do they have many garage sales down there?? Perhaps that would be another options for kid's clothes.

Joyce, thanks for the start-up. Wow, that is a big drop in temps in 24 hours. Any luck finding someone to repair/replace your window?
Ruth, that is cold, but sounds like you have a productive day planned. Good luck with the listings. Hope you can keep the mold out of your bedroom till the new windows come. Was your ds able to have her final chemo treatment? Prayers continue.
Cathy, the area we are in is a lot of condos/apartments so not many kids around. I also think part of the reason there isn’t a lot of used kids clothing is that they wear them much more than kids who live in a northern climate. After 8 or 9 months of wearing the clothes I’m sure they aren’t much good. I know when my boys were young by the time DS#2 outgrew the clothes (they were passed down from DS#1), they were pretty well shot. I’m sure I’ll find the things I need, I did find some great sales before we left CT., so don’t need everything but was hoping to either buy the clothes on sale or at a consignment store. Cathy, hope you don’t lose power, that is never fun during the winter. One thing they always told us to do in CT. was to turn the heat up and if we lost power the house would stay warmer longer. We have baseboard/hot water heat. The baseboards are along the outside walls and if it is windy the water can freeze in those pipes even if the house is at 50 degrees. It happened a few times but only once did the pipe burst – what an expensive mess. Stay safe.
Tonight the card night is at our place. I have everything ready. We first go out to dinner and then back to one of the condos for cards – there are 4 couples. Always a good time. I am really trying not to accumulate a lot of extra items here and that helps with keeping the place neat and easy to clean. Everyone stay warm and safe.

Enjoy Dinner and Cards this evening, Dottie. What kind of snacks did you make? Great job in fighting off the urge to bring more stuff into your condo. Broken water pipes, that would be a hugh and pricey mess. I can now see where the kids would wear out their shorts and tees there, I hadn't thought of that. We are having the soup and corn bread now. It's just about right..maybe a tad to "hot", should have used a can of MILD Rotel instead of the regular. It isn't until the last spoonful or two that the "heat" is noticeable. John likes the cornbread, he'd better, I did it the way he asked...no cheese but added a little corn and a can of chopped green chilies. Did another small load of L...now I'm just looking for stuff to wash! LOL Mail carrier did make it by, I suppose I should go out to the curb and get the mail....perhaps after another scoop of soup. TTYL
