We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they've hatched!

Happy Friday 13th! I must have watched President Obama giving Uncle Joe the Medal of Freedom a dozen times now. It makes me tear up each time. I am so going to miss having class and intelligence in the White House.

@naturelover that WAS really awesome.
Keeping with a more positive vibe today, Twins Jenna and Laura Bush wrote Sasha and Malia a letter eight years ago when they first came to the White House. They just wrote another open letter to the girls about life after the White House. Good stuff

That was a lovely letter from the Bush girls. It showed real class. It must be terribly hard growing up in the spotlight of the White House.
Hanging on tight for the wild ride that's coming . . .

Remember playing crack the whip on the school yard? A group would join hands and run around and try to "snap" people off the line?
Let's do the same thing, all join hands to survive the next 4 (or less...snicker), but not let us be "snapped off" the line. We will survive!!!!!!!! So there!!!!!!!!

Hi...
Yes, the Bush sisters letter to the Obama girls was a very lovely gesture. I hope the tradition continues. We can learn so much from kids on how to act act in this chaotic time of transition & beyond.
We used to play crack the whip at the city park on a huge cement slab that was also a basketball court. Only, we used roller skates. The kind that had clamps & a key to adjust to your foot. One got whipped around pretty good on roller skates on cement. Many many scraped knees, etc. But oh so much fun , especially at night in the lighted park. Whenever, I drive by that park, which is 13 miles from where I live now, I still see our group of kids playing crack the whip in my mind. Almost like it was yesterday, not some 40-50 years ago. Just a great comfort memory for me. Almost tearing up as I type this. Yes, we all need to hang on for a bumpy nasty ride being provided by Tweetie's & his supporters. But, I just need to hang on to the fact that justice will prevail & all that is good about America will win in the end. It has to, right?

I remember those letters. It makes me smile just remembering what a good feeling I had when they sent them. It was such a nice thing to do and it's just as nice today that they're doing it again. Smiling again am I. In sticking with that Positive Vibe thing, here's a group of people that don't have a home at the moment. However, they do have a love of music and they love to sing. I try not to use that 'other' word because when we name something, or put a label on it, it can become an acceptable part of society and I simply can't accept that. I kept on feeling guilt then gratitude then happy then sad and finally hopeful while watching. Recently I've been feeling a tad hopeless but this choir has given me a ray of hope. I hope. lol. Check them out... www.pbs.org/newshour/art/choir-where-homeless-singers-find-hope-acceptance/((((PBNJ)))) You need a hug or two. (((((Pat))))) Oh, I know how you feel. I truly do. I think we all do.

Think Karma kid......
And some things we can't change, the "toopid" we shall always have with us. (isn't that a famous quote?)
What I don't get are the old groupies who are salivating over such an immoral man. Wishful thinking that they could meet and be greeted by the "grabber?"
See what you have ahead of you......4 years of my BAD jokes...............only way I can survive.
BTW did any one watch RM last night? Creepy transmission interference......RT is watching us.
