Hello friends. I hope your day is going well
I haven't done any crafting yet. Dh did find a replacement vehice for dgs and set for them to ship directly there. Well despite the fact that he had over $25 total they were going to charge him shipping because the two items were going to different places. I dont remember then saying that before. Anyway because of that he signed up for a free trial of prime and with that he's to get a coupon for money off on toys so I've been looking on their site for toys for birthdays and next Christmas.I have them all picked out for great grands but now I have to look for some for youngest grandchildren.Babies and boys are easier for me to buy for.So now I'm waiting for him to get notified of the coupon and then I'll order because the one thing I found will be prefect for 4 month old dggd.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I did get a little bit of a start on the Christmas cards. I made up a list of who I needed gifts for, bought some gift cards today, pulled out the cards, printed the labels and started some cards, so at least that's something. I wanted to get out tomorrow to mail them, but that isn't happening I've always been a procrastinator, so this is pretty much normal for me. I had a dental appointment today to fill a cavity and afterwards I did some grocery shopping. It was a beautiful sunny day here, just cold. We're supposed to get some really cold weather later in the week. Hope you are all enjoying some crafting.

Hello everyone,
It is a beautiful day here and I went out to lunch with some ladies from church which also happens to be my 82nd birthday. I worked on my baby blanket last evening and it is growing fast. The Christmas cards have started to arrive and I haven't even started. The cards are still sitting there waiting for me to get started.
Ginny, thank you for the birthday greetings. I did get some gifts and cards. One of my gifts was the movie " You Before Me " I read the book recently and loved it and DGD had seen the movie so she gave me the movie and I am looking forward to watching the movie. I am glad I read the book first. I wont tell you the story line as I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who is interested in reading or watching the movie.
cj, good for you getting some of your cards ready for the mail. I usually have the cards for the UK already in the mail by now.
Ruth, I think keeping up with your family is a full time job for you. Your family is blessed to have you & your DH always planning what you are going to send them or what you are going to make them.
I have to go and help Devin with his home work.
Have a good evening.

hi phyl, Sorry I missed you. I am sorry you are still having the spasms and I know how they hurt. When I get spasms in my legs I massage asper cream into the area that is hurting. I haven't had time to go & look at the Barcelona yarn and wont be able to go tomorrow as I have to get injections in my eyes in the morning. What are you going to make with yours? Have a good evening.

Meg, I didn't know it was your birthday A very happy birthday to you!!! May you have many more happy and healthy birthdays!
Phyl, I'm sorry you're so down and that the spasms are still getting you. At least you're keeping busy. I may have to get some of that barcelona yarn. On line it's sold only in mulitples of three but there is that coupon. I just with I could get more colors of it but the threes all have to be in the same color.

Good morning!
Phyl, so sorry to hear about the back spasms- (are they in your back?). Have had them before and they are so very uncomfortable. Didn’t the doctor give you some muscle relaxers (think I remember that. Hope it passes quickly and that you find a neat project for that yarn. BTW- I enjoyed reading your little story about the sewing machine. You are not alone. Been there, done that.
CJ- well you are far better off than I am- you got somewhere with your cards. Congrats for getting a start! If you have to go to the dentist, at least getting a cavity filled is better than one of those major visits- like root canal- that seem to take hours..
Meg, hope your injections go well today. Did you enjoy the movie?
Agreed, Ruth. You do an incredible job of keeping up with the entire family. I know you will not get to see the Barcelona yarn until you get it (If you do order some)- its very soft, seems to be a large skein. And its very pretty. Maybe, Christmas gifts for next year? I cannot wait to work with it- but have to finish the baby afghan soon. Hey, how are you feeling? Has your bladder pretty much gone into remission?
Busy day- I am taking a state mandated course to maintain my CDL 19A certification. I will be gone all day- but hope to be able to get a little bit of shopping done after class before I get home. The class is in an area much closer to all the stores than where we live. Got a few minutes of crocheting in yesterday on the baby afghan.
Have a great day all! Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Meg - Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to you - I hope you had a wonderful day Please let me know what you think of that movie, I might like to read the book too. Phyl - I hope you back will be better soon. Ginny - Hope your course goes well today and that you get your shopping done if you can. Ruth - Hope you are doing well and getting in some crafting. I'm so excited - I finished all my Christmas cards this morning and already went to the Post Office to mail them - so I'm done - yeah!!! I woke up early this morning and after my morning walk I just started working on them. I really wanted to get them done today so I could avoid the rush of the rest of the week. Also it's supposed to be very cold and windy here tomorrow so I want to stay home. I have to go out on Thursday and Friday, so today was the day to get things done. Now if I could just be motivated to put my tree up. I have a pretty slim colored lights pre-lit 6 foot tree that I bought several years back. I haven't put it up for probably about 4 years now. I love to look at it when it's up, but I just don't have the emotional energy to do it. The holidays can be such a sad time when we are missing our loved ones. I always think I should decorate each year since it might be the last year I'm in this house, but then I don't do it. Take care everyone!

Well I did get all my cards ready to mail but we go out tomorrow so they will be mailed then along with three small packages
I haven't gotten much else accomplished today. Dh is working away on Amazon He signed up for that free trial of prime and when you order they give you the option of opting out of 2 day delivery and they give you a coupon for doing that. Since we're never in a hurry to receive anything he opted out and was able to get several coupons so far which comes in handy for ordering gifts for grands and great grands. The coupons are for various categories of things..toys, printed books, pantry items, etc.
Made dh another cherry crisp He loves those. Oven baked chicken for dinner.
Cj, I'm glad you got all those things done and won't have to go out in the wind and cold.I don't have decorations out either. I do the same as you and each year thing I should get busy and do some decorating and don't. I just never have liked Christmas. I think it brings back bad repressed memories or something.
Meg and Phyl, I hope you're having a good day too.
Phyl Yes, I've had that experience with back spasms. I hope your's is soon gone.
Ginny, thanks for asking. My IC is pretty much in remission. I can tell it's there and I do feel the spasms but now they aren't painful just annoying and somewhat uncomfortable and is esp noticeable when I eat or drink something I shouldn't.
Ok going to go do some straightening up before I go to crocheting for the evening.
Have a good evening everyone
Ginny, I hope it was a good class.

Good evening,
CJ- I saw something on the news the other day commenting on people who put their tree up very early- before Thanksgiving. Guess some psychiatrist checked in and the overall opinion was that Christmas decor makes most people happy and it it improved your mood to put the tree or Christmas decor up, then that is a good thing. I agree with that. Of course, I can easily understand how feeling the loss of loved ones who have passed could make all that holiday decor feel empty. That makes sense too. I think it’s important for you to identify the feelings you are feeling and do what is best for you. Agreed, putting up a tree is work- but I agree, I love the look of the lights and truly enjoy the glow of Christmas lights in the house. Around here there are many decorated restaurants/ parks/etc... that can make you feel the beauty of holiday decorations. THink the important thing is to do what is right for you.
BBL Ginny

Good afternoon! Ruth, so happy for you that those cards are all ready to go and the packages too. I hope that today the PO is not crowded- Wednesdays are not usually a bad day for them, even during the Christmas season. So good to hear that you are pretty much in remission, it was pretty severe for you when you were experiencing a flare up. Will pray that it stays in remission.... Did you get to any crocheting? Cherry crisp is yummy. My Dh likes it too. CJ- YAY!!!!! Glad you got all those cards out the door and in the mail. Bet that feels tons better doesn’t it? Glad you got a nice walk in too- bet that cleared your head to write those cards. Ok my class? ?Well, I got there about 10 minutes early to an empty classroom. A few others showed up- we waited till a little after 8 and then started checking email, calling offices......(other district transportations were there) to find out that the class was cancelled due to bad weather. (A low percent chance of freezing rain that never happened). Wow. Long story short the class is rescheduled for Monday- which is ok with my workplace- and I had the morning off, sort of to run errands and Christmas shop. Got to DMV and renewed my license (was out of there in an unheard of 20 minutes!). So a bad situation ended up being pretty good. Dang its cold! 17 degrees when I woke up and its going to stay in the low 20’s all day. Hi to Phyl and Meg, Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
It's very cold and windy here today, but sunny. I'm so glad I don't have to go out. It's supposed to be a bit warmer the rest of the week, and I have to go out on Thursday and Friday so that worked out fine.
Ginny - What a bummer about that class being cancelled - it's nice that you could turn it into an opportunity to get some other things done. 20 minutes at DMV - that's a record I'm always surprised when I get done quickly there. Stay warm, that's what I'm trying to do too.
Ruth - I'm glad you got all your cards done and hopefully you can get everything mailed out today. I think about getting Amazon Prime, but since I mostly use Amazon only to buy books for my Kindle I'm not sure I would really benefit from it. But it sounds like you and your DH are getting a good deal.
Sometimes I think the thing about Christmas is that we can have so many expectations of how we think it should be, and it rarely measures up to them. That can lead to disappointment. So I think sometimes I just opt out of a lot to do with it to avoid those disappointed feelings. But who knows, I could just be a Grinch
Meg and Phyl - Hope you are O.K. and getting some things done and doing some fun things too. Take care everyone!
