Ruth, I would think there has to be someway to reset the password without causing major chaos. If I find anything on the internet I will post it here G

Looks like if you provide me the brand of the tablet or computer I can find something. Most directions indicate that you do a “hard reset”- involving holding down the volume up button and the power at the same time- that allows you to return to the factory settings and reset your password.

Yes I think that especially when your postal carrier goes the extra mile to make sure you receive your mail and packages without damage or mishap they should be remembered at Christmas.
Ginny, some cards are especially hard to write. As you said we don't want to sound disingenuous but we do want to be a comfort. You have such a way with words that I'm sure the people you sent those cards too will feel your kindness and caring
Your mil is someone who you could never have had a close relationship with. You did your best The password I'm looking for is just the password for Proboards. If I just look I'm sure there's a way to retrive it. Thank you so much for the help. I'm going to write down those instructions in case I need them in the future.
I bought myself a wonderful Christmas present and it came yesterday. It's the entire Bible on audio cd's. It was on sale on the Christianbooks site for a price I would never have thought they would have sold it at. It's in a really nice zippered case too. Now I can listen while crocheting, however when listening I'll probably be taking notes so probably won't be crocheting actually
I had a great day yesterday sitting in my warm living room and cooking in my warm kitchen. There was no wind for a change so dh made a fire in the woodstove.Today it's too windy.
Has anyone ever roasted chestnuts? There's that Christmas song that talks about chestnuts roasting on an open fire. When I was young my father bought chestnuts a couple times and roasted them in the oven. They taste nasty before being roasted and pretty much ok after being roasted. I saw some at the store the other day. They were quite expensive. I'd never buy any anyway but it did remind me of the song.
Ginny, can't believe that when you start the new thread tomorrow it will be exactly a week before Christmas. This year seems to have gone by fast.
I will see you all later and hope you all have a great day.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I'm glad you got your projects done and can start on the next ones. That's a nice gift you bought for yourself, I hope you enjoy listening to it. I have a friend that always brings me food when she visits too - usually a few times a year. I would love to tell her to please stop doing it, because I just don't need it and feel terrible when I don't eat it. But I know she was raised like I was to show love and caring through food. It's a really hard habit to break. The ironic thing is that she is on WW too, but she does always give lower point foods, it's just that I still don't need them. I hope you can get your computer problems fixed. I know that I need either a new PC or a laptop. I'm leaning towards getting a laptop. My PC is several years old and I have trouble viewing webpages and videos sometimes, so I know I need an updated computer. I'm old school and just prefer a PC, but I think I could adjust to a laptop. Meg - I hope the winds have died down for you today, the fires in Southern CA are so terrible, I feel for the people who have lost their homes. I'm glad you were able to go to your group on Friday, do they have a Christmas party/meeting? Ginny - I'm sorry you lost your father around the holidays, that makes them so difficult remembering that loss. It's tough when you have difficult cards to send out too, I hope you are able to get them all done. Phyl - Hope you are feeling better. I've never roasted chestnuts, but I don't like any nuts. The only nutty thing I like is peanut butter when it's in a candy bar I put together a gift bag of snacks for my mailman last year and when I gave it to him I told him I'd read they can't accept gifts over a certain $$ amount or I would have gotten him a gift card. He said no one cares about that, I think he would rather of had the gift card This year there have been several different mail carriers for my house, so I'm not going to try to give them a gift. I tried another cookie recipe this morning - I just divided the ingredients into fourths so I could make a small batch. These were for Snowball Cookies. They tasted really good, but I messed up with the butter and the cookies flattened while baking instead of staying in balls. I've been trying to figure out what foods I'm taking to my family party, so I'm ruling these out. It's cloudy here today, but milder in the low 50s, so that's good. Looks like we'll have a few more milder days this week. Take care everyone!

CJ, my friend sent some of those...the snowball cookies. She doesn't make them in balls though, they're more of a traditional cookie shape but are they ever good. Despite the fact they have flour I had to eat two of them yesterday.Feeling the results today but it was worth it.I used to make a cookie called Spicy snowball. They were made with the condensed mincemeat...the kind in the little package not the jar...but that's hard to find anymore and I can sure live without them. Dh doesn't like them so I'd end up eating them myself which I do NOT need.
I'd better hang on to that recipe because I just tried to look it up online and no luck with that. I'll probably never make them but It will feel good to know that I can if I want too. I'm going to make copies....for the mincemeat snowballs that is. And actually it's been at least 43 years since I've made these cookies.

Good evening!
Ruth, think I had to reset my password for proboards once, and if I remember correctly it was not a big deal. Hope you get it all straightened out without too many headaches. My mom (who grew up in NYC where they sell roasted chestnuts on the street) used to roast chestnuts around Christmas. I do not remember ever trying them- but I do know my mom loved them. I thought they smelled awful. What a lovely Christmas present you bought for yourself! They had one advertised on TV- I thought about getting the Bible on CD for myself too- but the version I heard on TV- well the readers voice would have driven me nuts. Enjoy, I am sure that the Lord will bless you for spending more time in His word.
CJ-I am sure you will choose the right thing for you when its time to replace your computer. The kids gave me this tablet- because they know that DH hogs the computer. Regarding our computer, we have bought 3 towers over the past 15 years- and are still using the same monitor. Not buying a new monitor has saved us some money- and because we are not “gamers” our monitor (which seems plenty clear enough to me!) is good enough. So we just replace the tower when the hard drive crashes - which seems to be what happens to us. Of course you will do what is best for you. Hope you can find some good recipes to take to your family Christmas celebration. You are a brave woman test trying them out. I would be far too tempted to eat them and be off program.
Well.......got all the Christmas cards done! The two “tough” cards are actually in the mail, I dropped them off on the way to church. I felt bad writing to my MIL’s sister- who is such a sweetie- but managed fairly nicely to dance around the fact that my MIL was a difficult woman at best and that I do not at all miss her. I tried to focus on others in the family who will most likely keep grandmas memory alive by making some of her family recipes. I did my best to be gracious and kind, hope I succeeded.
Slowly the house goes back in order after the floors were done. I put the rugs back today, and it really looks nice. Dh and I are still moving the furniture around- we might try to change the layout a bit, but its a challenge as our house is not all that big. But little by little it is all geting back to normal. I wrapped 2 gifts today too. Got lots more to do...but a long week to do that in.
Tomorrow I have to take that class that was cancelled last week. We are in for freezing rain tonight. Hope they do not cancel class again.
Have a good night all Ginny

I have been really lazy all day and I have been wearing sweats to keep warm. I did clear up some of the mess on the kitchen table and I will finish that in a day or two. I haven't done any knitting today but perhaps this evening. Last night I watched the movie "Me Before You" I read the book recently which I loved. DGD gave me the movie for my b/day. As always I am glad I read the book before I watched the movie.
Ruth, good for you getting finished with your projects. you are a lot more organized than I am. I call anything that does not need a lot of counting or checking a pattern Mindless Knitting or crocheting.
Ginny, My b/blanket is plain old garter stitch. I just want to make several blankets quickly and those I knit with 2 strands of yarn which makes a nice soft warm b/blanket. I use 2 different yarns. I am glad you got the card off to DHs aunt and I am glad you have a positive relationship with her.
Phyl, I hope you are having a worry free weekend.
cj, I hope you are staying warm and cozy.
I'll be back tomorrow, I hope.

CJ, I love my laptop but it's a touch screen. I don't know if I would like it if I had to deal with a regular one but when my ds and dgd were here they had brought their laptops and no touch screen and seemed to have no problem at all.
Ginny, I hope the class isn't cancelled unless the roads are so bad that it's dangerous to drive. And congrats on getting the cards done.
Meg it sounds as though you enjoyed both the book and the movie. I'll have to look into the book. I haven't found much lately that I'm interested in reading. And yes, I hope, too, that you'll be back tomorrow
I know there were other things I was going to respond to but now I forgot. I did get two potholders done today and will probably get another done. We should have plenty for us now so rest will be for others.I might get started on the fingerless gloves I mentioned yesterday started tomorrow but I might spend some time wrapping presents
Sleep well my friends
