My parents, both raised in the depression saved everything, all the boxes from QVC when mom finally couldn't get out with her RA, every little part and screw, clothes, every bill they got in files, etc. unfortunately they both died close to each other and I thought I would never get clear of sorting stuff and hauling it away.
Whenever the garage starts to get cluttered, I shudder with flashbacks And deal with it. Over last five years I keep getting rid of stuff and am amazed at what is still there if I had to downsize for. Senior living.
So so I am now looking at cookbooks and decided to keep or copy a few pages and move on!

Good evening TLCs and Happy Sunday! Chele - happy to hear that although Iggy has had a really long trip to get home that he should be there now! I agree with you and Kathy that I am more comfortable exercising alone. The hip has hindered that quite a bit but I am trying to learn the balance for now with my walking and doing my back exercises. PT therapist chided me on my 'cutting back' on my steps; only did 9K on Thurs. but still hit over 10 on Fri. Have been trying to take care of me a bit better over the weekend and although we had a bit more than a dusting of snow, I still got out and walked the pups today and yesterday. Kathy - it does definitely feel different on Sun. when you know you aren't going in on Mon. I was going to go in and meet a friend for breakfast and do some work but realized it is just better for me to take care of me and will meet her Tues. morning instead. Gary and I will take the pups to the Pet Station to give them baths tomorrow since he is also off. Congrats on the loss and you will lose those holiday lbs. I am wrestling with them also and not doing real great with my eating in general this week. I have been tracking but am just doing some serious emotional and stress eating . Linda - the holder does sound like an excellent idea and thanks for the link. Hope you enjoy your dinner tonight and that is a fantastic price! My recumbent bike is gone now since it fell apart but I used it religiously and really did well with it for a number of years. Great for your thighs and much kinder to your knees and back but still effective! Becky - you continue to be an inspiration and many times when I'm feeling bad at myself I remember your words to just hang in and stick with it. It really can be challenging sometimes and as another spoke about on a different thread, I look to food all too often for comfort and that isn't really a good thing. Karen - hope your rather chilly ride home went well and that you enjoyed the visit! I am taking it easier than usual this weekend since I am realizing that the hip is not in good shape and I have to find a balance of some sort until I make a determination on the surgery. I will call the surgeon and the hematologist this coming week to see if I can get some further information on where I stand. Wishing you all a good evening; stay warm and safe! We are down in the 20s but at least there was lots of sunshine today! Ciao for now lovely ladies~

Liz, I am guessing that the employee who passed away did so unexpectedly. How old was she? That was nice of the VP and SVP to come to pay respects but also to make sure you were OK. Did your current supervisor show up? Not good that an apple and yogurt was all you had eaten. I would have inhaled more than half a wrap if I had been in that hungry. I hope you decided to take tomorrow off. You deserve it. I hate that your temps are so chilly. Good luck deciding what to do on the hip. It sounds like it's not getting any better. I know it's difficult but I hope that you will take work out of the equation and do what is best for you, Gary, and the puggles.
I hope His Royal Tinyness gave you a better night last night, Chele. What ingredients in the cauliflower tots add the carbs? Is Iggy home now? Does he get tomorrow off?
Levinger has really nice stuff, Linda. I know you'll be happy with your purchase. Did you get Micki walked before the rain came? I don't drink coffee but staying in bed wit the dog and the iPad sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, Phoebe isn't a stay-in-bed kind of dog So I guess I'm just out of luck there. What did you have at Roy's Pacific Rim? I would expect a lot of seafood. MIL was the same way with saving everything. It made it really difficult when she died so suddenly because there was so much stuff in that house.
Becky, did the cortisone kick in yet? You're doing amazing, Becky! When you get down to the last 10 lbs or so, it's usually so difficult to get the scale to budge, so I'm amazed that you just keep on going. Enjoy your holiday tomorrow. I know what you mean about how different Sunday feels when you don't have to go to work Monday. It's nice in retirement as well.
Nice new avatar, Kathy. So Florida-esque. The weather in Raleigh usually isn't so drastically different, which is why I didn't bother checking the weather. Did you catch the Dallas-Green Bay game? What a finish!
I got home about 4. It was a long trip and I did hit some rain but, other than through Raleigh, the traffic wasn't bad, which helped. We had a smaller than usual group yesterday, which was actually kind of good because it gave us a better opportunity to really talk to one another. We had some real "girl talk" because we have a couple of friends really struggling with menopause and one of them is a recent breast cancer survivor. So we had a really good conversation and I hope it helped the struggling ones. Another friend also stayed over with the friend I stayed with last night so there were three of us and it was nice to catch up in an even smaller group. We didn't get to bed until about Midnight and I didn't sleep particularly well due to being cold and not being in my bed. I should sleep well tonight. I finally warmed up about halfway through my trip, despite having the heater on in the car on a pretty high setting. With my Reynaud's Syndrome, when my hands and feet get cold, the rest of me is also cold. And they were definitely cold! I took no socks and wore clothing entirely too light for the conditions. I stopped at the old house (which is now on the market) and the temperature when I got there was 68. It was 48 when I left Raleigh and 64 when I got home.
Do you like my new avatar? Dale told me yesterday that he and Phoebe had walked past where my mushroom logs are and it looked like I had mushrooms growing so I stopped on the way in to the driveway and, sure enough, I had 2 logs putting out a bunch of mushrooms. It added up to a pound and a half, in fact. I sauteed some for dinner and they were excellent. I have never had shiitakes that fresh. When Phoebe and I walked down to the barn on Thursday to visit Dale, they weren't there, so they have come out in the last couple of days. No holiday for me tomorrow. I have some laundry to do and then hope to sand and finish the wooden crates I bought last week to use in the studio so I can store my supplies in a way I can get to them more easily. Then I should actually be able to start working on projects in there.
I'm exhausted and have a sniffle so I hope I'm not coming down with something. It sure would be nice to be able to sleep a little longer in the morning but that seems unlikely.

Chele,I still plan on going to Curves 3 days a week hopefully but the weather hasn't been co-operating too much for a walk so that's why I have gone to the shorter spurts on the exercise bike.Today I was able to do 15 min at a time twice and 20 min once.It seems like the bike is helping my knee more than walking so I may look into a recumbent bike but I may look into another gym in addition to Curves and they may have one there.Have you injured your heel?I know you were doing different exercises for awhile after you got your new Apple watch.I did eat more dailies yesterday but so far I've only got in 23.I need to get it into my head that I can eat more carbs sometimes.
Linda,Enjoy your dinner and take care of your knee. When do you start your injections?
Kathy,Thanks. If I can't get Kenneth to quit eating out it may go the other way. It's always fast food places like today DQ and it's the 2nd sorry grilled chicken salad I got there so he said he wouldn't ask me to go back there again.
Liz,I think 9,000 steps would be good for you in your condition.I think it's a good idea for you to take care of you this weekend. Thanks for the compliment and I have the same problems with food that everyone else has.I try not to use it as comfort but my main problem is once I start eating more carbs that leads me to craving more carbs. What saves me from giving in completely sometimes to food is my water and exercise.
Karen,I'm glad you are back and hope you had a fun time. The knee is feeling better as long as I keep exercising it.I try to stretch it when I'm on my recliner so it doesn't get stiff.I hope to spend my day off at Curves if it's not pouring rain in the morning.I hope you aren't coming down with anything and I hope you get some good sleep tonight.
