Good morning all. I slept well last night and even got in an extra half hour. Ahhhhh, it sure felt good. Last night we had a lot of wind. I could hear it while we were watching tv and even when I was in bed. Right now our temperature is only 13. Hopefully it'll warm up as the day goes on.
Judy hope your book club and dinner went well. What are you reading?
Sue those salads sound great. I also love cheese cake and like you only eat it in VERY small quantities. It's all my stomach can handle at one sitting.
We have some in town shopping to get done today, and I'm also going to call Kathy to see if she can fit me in for a well needed manicure and pedicure for tomorrow.
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Ann, I am glad you are getting your sleep. That always helps with whatever one is dealing with.
We are expecting freezing rain later this morning, so I will be stuck in the house for a few hours. Good thing I like being stuck at home.
If anyone likes Lucy activewear they are having a good sale on their website. My SIL turned me onto it Portland. We don't have the brick and mortar here. I love their yoga wraps. Comfy and stylish.
Kathryn, a retinal tear sounds painful and dangerous. I am glad the docs found it and it is getting fixed so soon.
Waving to the rest of the gang and hope you you all have a good Saturday.

Time to get a move on....just threw in load #2 of laundry. Going to get ready to roll and start this day.

Good Morning WW Friends ~
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Café this morning. I wish I had slept well last night; but, alas, it was not to be. I went to bed not quite sleepy and tossed and turned and dreamed and got up every hour or two then in the wee hours of the morning could not sleep at all. Boo!! I hope it’s just that the strong antibiotic and the longstanding infection are waging a war inside, but so far I’m not enjoying it.
Carol ~ I perked up when you mentioned looking at background things on This Is Us to ascertain the time switch. I do that too, but never thought about it or put a name to it. Thanks! Enjoy your drive today!
We enjoyed our Maurice Salads very much last night. This Deli makes them exactly like the original and they are very generous. I actually ate the whole thing, though usually I don’t eat that much at one time. I had hoped it would contribute to a good night’s sleep but it didn’t. The Cherry Cheesecake is still in the fridge waiting for another day (maybe today?).
I am laying low today – just small chores like bill paying and bed changing and a bit of laundry. Then back to my La-Z-Boy. I told DH I’d give it 72 hours before becoming discouraged, but inwardly I would prefer to feel some change already (though I only started the meds Thursday night). Patience ……. Yeah, right!
BBL. Make a great day!

Ann, I mislead you. It is Kathryn's DH who has the retinal tear.
Hey, Carol, enjoy the drive.

Good Morning:
Ann: Me too on staying home in the evening! The older I get the more I like to stay in—especially in the winter.
Kathy: TOY.
Carol: I looked up something re: This is Us yesterday and it was in a comedy category. Really? I get what your DD says about heavy. It has some humor but mostly it does seem so sad to me. Poignant too.
Sue: Sounds like a great Friday the 13th for you! Including cheesecake which makes any day a great one in my book.
Judy: Right! I hadn’t noticed the brass/diamond designation. And we’re 2 stars. LOL. Thanks for the royal show clarification. More TV than I have time to keep up with I think. Did you find anything at the Estate sale?
Chele: University of Dayton. So pretty. Ha on His Royal Tinyness.
Kathryn: A torn retina. I am so glad he got in too and that they can treat it. Please let us know how it goes. As I get older, I’m much less inclined to take my eyesight for granted. It’s precious.
Another clear, cold, high wind day. Yesterday I was somewhat reluctant to walk in the cold but DH was going so I did and of course was glad I did. My trekking poles kept me on my feet on the ice. The gusts were so extreme that we had to stop and stand a few times. We turned a corner for wind behind us just in time. My face was so cold. For the past 2 days we’ve come upon my beloved Great Blue Heron who has been hanging out at a small pond. We try not to disturb him but he flies away. An amazing sight. I’m not sure if we’ll walk today. The wind gusts are now 51. Our furnace is not keeping up so DH is heading to the garage to take a look. The temp in the house is 61. We’re in for a few more days of this. I am nervous that our furnace is giving up. It’s not very old…

Okay, I started a post a while ago, got distracted, and had better just start over....hurrah for a free day, but that also means I'm Unfocused Kathy, LOL. The ortho went very well...he was completely frank, they have a 50/50 chance of being of help...but hey, I've decided to be a Glass Half Full person, so envisioning my knee plumping up with wonderful lubrication! I am being careful, it wasn't painful for the injection (yeah) and my leg didn't feel any worse than it has, so I helped J finish getting ready for Bradana, but didn't do anything strenuous and that's the plan for today, too. If it feels okay tomorrow, I'll get on the indoor bike, which is always safe exercise (and J and Brady moved it to it's new location last night.) My leg wasn't at all achey in bed last night, I think if I was going to have a serious reaction, it would have already hit. Onward! Last night was super fun, I am so excited for Brady and this happiness he is in the midst of; of course, I am prejudiced, but he puts a lot of love into the world and it's so fantastic to see him on the receiving end. We just laughed and gabbed. The apartment got many compliments and it *felt* nice, too, since the LR is really finished. Since we were in Cambridge whenever we saw them in December, they had not seen the *new and improved* Leia and she put on a quiet a show last night with her peppy behavior and slim physique! I need to crack the whip with J this weekend and make sure we get the CD's and books on shelves, but after that, it will just be hanging pictures up here. There is a lot of sorting to do in the basement, and I know some stuff to be merged up here, but we are getting there. Ann, I'm so glad you slept well last night, it was my best night's sleep for a few, too. Good luck with your mani/pedi! I hate that wasn't true for you, Sue, and I am going to put a handcuff on that recliner for you...that's where I am at the moment, I do love being able to put my feet up, even if it's not social for me to be across the room. Chele, I did NOT need the tip on the Lucy sale, but yup, like the Pavlovian dog I am, headed right to their site and placed a (small, really!) order...I need/love tops that cover my stomach, and I loved the looks of those wraps, too, although I ordered a hooded pullover. Okay after all the posts, I'm wondering if I will like the show, or if it will be "That's Not Me", LOL. After Carol wrote what her DD said, and then Carolyn's post this AM...🤔 but I will give it a try, maybe after J heads to church. I'm pretty careful about *heavy* even if it's good. Carolyn, I hope the heater is okay! You are RIGHT about that being scary in cold weather. One night this week, I realized I was colder than normal in the evening and thinking how I needed to go put on something heavier...and we realized it was 61 in the apartment, which IS cold. It was evening and I was panicking a little bit, but J went to the basement to check things out...the maintenance guy had been over to install a new dryer and had turned off an emergency switch on the boiler...the heater is a gas dryer and we guess he turned it off while he worked....WHEW. And who said that J wasn't handy? Kathryn, Chele took the words out of my mouth about DH's tear....thank goodness it was caught early! Keep us posted on the procedure. Judy, how funny...my recipe is also called Nuts and Bolts! It is from back in the day when I was a Tupperware Lady (I was still married to #1 and Brady was in preschool.) Tupperware had a new cookware that worked in the oven and microwave and we got the recipe to demo at parties. I just got rid of the last piece of the cookware (who knows what it was made of, LOL) so had to use a small pyrex dish and multiple batches. I thought I had done really well with my party food, but the scale was up 2 pounds this AM...ack!, (yellow zone alert!!) so you are right to hang onto your Precious Progress. When I was first in maintenance I would completely slack on trips and holidays, and I got really tired of needing to lose 5 pounds and frantically prepare for WI. So, this is my alert; sadly, it just never will end for me, but I'm not as crazy-nutcase vigilant as I was for a while. LOL, Ann, on firing your doctors! I do think this ortho is a keeper, although maybe not for two knees! I will get through these next couple of months appts, but I think the June appt in Beverly for a GYN needs to be rethought! I was always one that thought I needed to get my big mouth into the conversation, but I truly am getting better about that...I was listening to a meditation this AM, that talked about the 3 Gates to ask ourselves 1) Is it true? 2) Is it kind? 3) Is it Necessary? Learning #2 is better, and I'm getting there with #3....the General Board can get snarky and I always thought I needed to insert my noble thoughts into the conversation; I did a good job this week of removing myself without responding, so I am willing. KOKO. Okay, time to move onto lunch, I think! Everyone have a good one and stay safe and warm.

Carolyn ~ Me, too, on staying home at night and especially in the winter. Once I'm in and warm, I have no desire to go back out. Fortunately DH and I are on the same page with this so it is good. Hope by now your furnace woes have been resolved! 61 really is too cool for living. Kathy ~ I can so relate to being careful about "heavy" TV shows. I have to be careful what I watch, especially at night. I think our cable network categorized that show as Drama/Comedy and DH and I scratched our heads at that, because it doesn't seem comedic - unless you look at the irony of some of things that happen. So much of that show is in how you interpret it, I would guess. SO happy about your knee - and especially about your visit last night!! I could hear the joy in your voice. DH got back home in time to eat lunch with me and we had some left-over rotisserie chicken rolled into tomato/basil wraps (big!) that his buddy gifted us with. Just enough for a light lunch and we can eat supper any time we want. Plus, tonight is Cherry Cheesecake so better to eat light today. I'll try to check back in later.

Carol enjoy your drive. Lots of times Carl and I will set out for 'parts unknown' and always make a great memory!
(((Sue))) feel better. Praying that all will be well soon.
LOL Chele, no problem. Kathryn hope your DH is doing well.
Yikes, Carolyn...I hope your furnace isn't giving out! Stay warm and safe! Here it is 28 sunny no wind but it feels colder than that! Maybe it's just me and my 'old bones' LOL. Yup, I'm all about being home when it's cold and dark!
Kathy I hear ya on being a glass half FULL. Take it easy and RELAX. Your meditation sounds interesting. I'm really enjoying doing the little ones on stop breathe think. It's definitely new to me, so I take baby steps. Unfortunately Kathy can't do both mani/pedi tomorrow unless I want to go in at 3:30! It takes at least 1.5 hrs to get it done, and I really don't want to be out all that time LOL. I will have just the manicure done at noon and the feet will have to wait! I'm fine with it.
Still doing laundry. I got a phone call and gabbed longer than usual which threw a monkey wrench in my planned day. Now I'll play a game of 'catch-up'. My priority is to get to WalMart to pick up a few things and the rest of the 'stuff' will wait. Ann needs her R&R.
Talk tomorrow. Enjoy your day, girls.
Waving to Kathryn, Judy Art and anyone else I forgot!

Kathy, forgot to mention that I was up 1.5 after my 1# gain at Weight Watchers on Thursday. Lately I've been really stress eating......gee, wonder why??? LOL...but that aside, since I started to REALLY journal and watch what I put in my mouth, I was down .4 this a.m. Yup, it's a start and I'm grateful for that.
Sue enjoy that cherry cheese cake!
Ciao

Ann, I would call my eating *careless*, just a little of this, a little of that....I do track, but certainly not perfectly, and I want that to be okay. I am *toeing the line today* and we'll see in a few days if the ship rights. Early on, I was always pushing the envelope to see what I could get away with, and I presume that's another tendency that's just waiting to pop out!
Sue, there was a LOT of joy last night; that's what I'm *feasting on* today, LOL.

I think we have always 'pushed the envelope' LOL....Lord knows I have.
Back from WallyWorld and Hannafords. Both were a zoo! No clue why that was as there is not snow coming...usually that gets people out and about! Then again, I normally avoid this sort of thing on a weekend, so it could just be that.
In any event, shutting down now.
Sleep well, all!
