Hello Ruth, Ginny, cj, & Phyl.
My cataract was removed on Wed. I went back for a check up on Thur. a.m. and all is fine. My eyes are a bit irritated but hopefully that will go away in a few days. I just have to use more eye drops liKe refresh And of course I have to use the prescription drops 4 times each day. I was able to do some knitting last evening. I might be able to finish the b/blanket tonight if my eyes feel up to it. I didn't go to knit wits today.
Ruth, about the eye drops, I should have used the drops a week before surgery. I was only able to use them 1 day. I didn't mind having short notice because I really wanted to have the cataract removed. I was on the list waiting for a cancelation and I thought that probably someone would cancel over the holidays.
I have to go, time for more drops and I will probably take a nap and rest my eyes. I'll check back later.

For Phyl to make her life easier, above is the instructions fro the Mountain whatever scarf.
MEg, so glad your procedure came out ok. Praying for a fast recovery.
Ruth, I wonder if your Dh and mine are on the same board, ranting about the affairs of the world. Glad you found that yarn...
CJ- stay warm. I looked at the long range forecast and we are in for cold for a long time.
See everyone tomorrow. Ginny

Meg, it's so good to see you and know that the surgery went well. I sure wish I could get my other one done.
Ginny, at least if they're on the same board they agree.
That message I posted about Devin's presents didn't make any sense. I don't know what I was thinking about when I wrote it. Must have been tired.
I tried the leaf pattern and it's pretty nice but it's complicated. IN each section, which makes two rows of leaves, there are 20 different rows and that's after the border rows. It's one where you really have to keep track. Definitely not something you can do while talking or watching tv.It's pretty though and one woman's video shows it with different color leaves and I love how she carries along the color not being used as all the area around the actual leaf is the main color. All I did with the pattern today is make a square which can be used as a dish/washcloth.
Have a good rest everyone.See you tomorrow

Oh and Ginny, I don't have the same yarn but I have a similar one so I'm going to make that scarf with the one I have and fingerless gloves to match...when I get to it...which will be before the leaf scarf

Good morning!
Ruth, forgive me for being obtuse, I am confused if you will be continuing with the leaf scarf or not. The pattern sounds way too confusing to me- I would not have the patience for it at all. Should you choose to continue with it, I know you will be able to make sense out of it and make it beautiful.
Meg, so glad you were able to get some knitting done! Wow, you only had the procedure a few days ago. Bet your new clearer vision makes things easier.
Phyl and CJ hope you are getting some crafting time in- or at least staying warm and content.
Got no crafting done yesterday- got wound up with Dh on this IPAD and he needed help getting it to do what he wanted so I cleaned and organized while assisting him when he needed it. I told him that he owes me a trip to the big LQS to make up for it. Ha ha ha. Actually in our errands we might be sort of near there today....I do need to get another charm pack to make a second table runner for the living room.
Ok enough babbling from me. Its a rip roaring 11 degrees here this am.. Guess winter is here! Ginny

morning,, thank you ginny for the pattern. I did go to google and looked it up. that was easier then all crochet .I printed your pattern off. I tried to unsubscribe last night. holy cow do you have to go through a lot of pages to make sure you don't have any checked boxes. I did not have one box checked. I did find the pattern of the scarf you'll want to borrow it. beautiful don't think I will try to make it.
I am hoping to get out of the house today. just about ready to go stir crazy. our high is going to be -2. need to go to the quilt shop.also have a couple of gift cards I might use on something. hope the items are still there. might get a new winter coat for when I am bumin. also looking at sweat style stuff to wear after surgery. usually after Christmas I go to hobby lobby or someplace to buy gift card holders and stuff. they are probably sold out by now at most stores I say one thing when you have a cold it does keep you inside and kept you from spending money .lol.. least I don't need scoth tape .found a few rolls in my wrapping stuff.
enjoy our day. phyl

Hey Phyl! Good to see you here this am, and I am glad you are doing a bit better. I figure if you are willing to go out of the house, then you might be feeling more like yourself. This super cold sure does make everyone want to stay inside. As a crafter, that is usually fine by me. Hope that if you go out you find lots of good stuff to use those gift cards on and that Hobby Lobby has the gift card holders you are searching for. Good idea to get some clothes shopping done for easy to wear garments after your procedure. Think the normal healing takes 3 to 6 weeks.....and as active as you are I am sure you will do just fine. Praying that you will get everything done that you want to before the procedure and that the procedure goes well with rapid healing.
I crocheted a few minutes and am now finishing thank you notes for the gifts from the kiddies I drive. Cannot wait to have that job done- it does get tiresome but I am indeed very thankful for the gifts G

Ginny, I might make the scarf but it just won't be soon. It looks pretty online but not so much "in person" If I made it I'd used a smaller hook and that would make it nicer. All that shows up online is a video but then someone went to the video where she has the pattern in multipe frames. This person posted it online but it's just really hard to follow so I had to write it all out on paper so I wouldn't have to keep going back and forth. It's had to explain why but it's sure not a clearly written pattern
Phly, I hope you find some nice goodies to use the gift cards on. Yes sweats will come in handy while you're doing the PT after your surgery and just for moving around in general.
Yes it's cold here today too but at least our high for the day is above zero.
I think I replied to Meg but again, I'm so glad you were able to stop in and that your surgery went well.
CJ, I hope you're having a good day. I bet its still cold there too.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Meg - I'm glad to hear everything went well with your surgery and hopefully your eye will be feeling better soon. Phyl - Hope you are continuing to improve and were able to get your shopping done. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to get some crocheting done and I hope you were able to get your thank you cards done. I wrote a list of people I need to send those cards to, and hope to get that done soon. Stay warm - that is some cold weather! Ruth - Hope your weather is warmer than it is on the east coast - it was in the 20s again today and we had a light dusting of snow last night. Hope you are getting some crafting done. I'm pretty much doing nothing this weekend and enjoying it I have decided that I need to start the new year with decluttering this house. It will never get done unless I do. I hope I can keep myself motivated. I've always been a procrastinator, so I have to push myself. If I can get even a little bit done each day I'll be happy. Take care everyone!

Ginny, I have no doubt at all that you would be able to do the leaf scarf with no problem but it is time consuming so may not be worth the time involved. I'm going to make the scarf who's pattern you put here for Phyl
CJ, I think it got up to maybe 11 today and it's snowing right now. Acc to weather report it was supposed to be pretty warm today...maybe 36 but that didn't happen. I do think you should relax this weekend then, as you said, next year you can set up a system to get through the house. I'm a big procrastinator too and can't imagine clearing out this house if my dh preceeded me in death. I know I'd be getting rid of a LOT of stuff but there's some that I would need to somehow send to my ds and some I'd sell and some give to the neighbor for always helping us so much. Some of this furniture dh keeps holding onto, I think I'd take an ax and make it into small pieces so that it would fit into the dumpster I'd rent.
I was thinking of starting my Valentine day crocheting but am too lazy to go upstairs and look for the yarn I want to use. I should have thought of that yesterday. So I'll just work on what I have down here and maybe do some reading and playing games online.
Have a good sleep everyone

It's cold here again today but not much wind so that makes it a little better
I got an email saying that Michael's has the loops and threads yarn including the Barcelona buy one get one free.If it wasn't for the shipping charge I'd sure get some.
I didn't do much crafting yesterday except for doing a couple more rows on the leaf patterns. Today I'm going to get started on Valentine Day things.
I hope you're all having a good day. As we were sitting looking out our big window today we noticed what looked like smoke coming off our roof. Dh checked everything out and I guess it was just steam and snow blowing off. That happens sometimes when it's this cold but, of course, you have to be careful and check everything. No antelope again but we saw a flock of Canada geese. I don't know what they're still doing here this late in the year
Happy new year everyone although I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow (Lord willing) to say it again.

Happy New Years Eve Crafters Hope everyone is enjoying the day and that you have a safe and nice evening. I don't usually stay up until midnight, since I'm usually tired and ready for bed. It's so cold here hopefully all the "crazy" people who shoot guns and put off fireworks won't bother with that this year. Ruth - I always worry that something will happen to me and I'll leave all the junk in this house to my family to go through. I'd hate to do that to them, so you'd think that would motivate me Take care everyone!

CJ, I hate to think of that too. When my ddil's mother died my ddil and ds lived in Kentucky...Ft Knox...and my ddil's sister and her dh lived in MN so they both had to travel here where her mother lived. They all had to get back..ds to work and ddil's sister and her hubby to work also, and had, therefore only a short time to have the funeral and clean out the house. Luckily the mother had moved not too long before that so probably had less stuff than usual but it still was a disaster.Luckily, too, they also had her dm's boyfriend that was more than willing to help them so they managed to get almost all done. I stayed home and took care of the children. My house is much larger and I have WAY more stuff so my kids would really have a very huge undertaking. I think they'd have to hire help to get it all done. At least my dd lives here in town and has friends and adult children that might help. Anyway that's why I'm trying to get rid of some things now but my little bits that I do get rid of hardly make a dent. I took at least 10 large bags of things to GW awhile back and have 6 more bags filled now.I've sent things to dgc that I thought they could use and that they might want.As soon as spring gets here I'm going to work on the garage. I was going to do that last spring but then the bladder thing flared up and I couldn't do much of anything. Most of the garage is dh's stuff though and he hates to get rid of anything as I've mentioned before.

Good evening ,
CJ- wow just being home with nothing to do sounds wonderful!!! Hope you get all the decluttering done hat you like- it always feels so good after you finish! Are you planning on getting rid of stuff or just putting away what must be put away? Dh and I do not stay up late either. He wanted to go to the movies tonight but i just did not work out. The theater has actual assigned seats that you buy- and we could already see that both movies had only the front row available. So we will stay home.
Ruth, glad that was just steam and snow!!! I wonder if using retailmenot or something similar if you could wrangle free shipping from Michaels. Just a thought.
Got a cold and I am really not feeling very well. Kind of glad we did not decide to go out....I am happy to get my crocheting out and stay home.
Stay warm and safe all. Happy new year Ginny
