Good morning girls. Will be leaving for my manicure and not a moment too soon LOL. We watched the game with our neighbors last night and I picked away at my gel polish. Kathy is NOT going to be happy LOL. For some reason my fingernails are splitting and chipping....either it's the cold weather or nerves.....It will be good to have them looking good again!
The Pats played a great game. I was happy for them.
Other than that nothing much on our agenda.
Hope everyone enjoys a great Sunday!

Heading for church, so getting myself going....have a good one!

LOL Kathy! I usually don't watch sports as I don't have that kind of 'sport head' LOL....but we were invited so I went with the flow.
Time for me to get a move on as well.
Ciao

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Chilly Sunday morning here with 15 dg but a warm-up is promised all next week. I had a great night's sleep! Even with the hour nap I took in the afternoon, which worried me just a bit. Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe doors this morning. I know you'll enjoy your manicure - that is such a treat! Enjoy your quiet day. Kathy ~ You're already up 'n at 'em this morning too. I am still lounging around in my robe and slippers , but soon .... Chele ~ Thanks for the recommendation of the Green Giant riced cauliflower. I had not heard of it and am a huge fan of Green Giant. The little boxes their vegetables come in are just enough for DH and me and we eat them frequently. I stock up when our Meijer store runs their 10/$10 sale. I will look forward to trying that one too. We will be heading out for lunch in a little while and then a quick trip through Costco for a few much-needed items and back home to relax. Nothing else on our agenda today. BBL. Make a great day!

Good Sunday morning. Coffee is close by. I have been awake since 1:30 am for some reason. It must be my subconscious worrying about Iggy's long flights back home. He should be landing in Atlanta around 1:00 pm but won't be back in Dayton until around 6pm.
He requested beef stroganoff for dinner. I have a WW recipe from the 80s that is simple and tasty. Since I rarely eat beef any more, I hope he likes it.
I am watching an acrobatic squirrel in our ash tree as I type this. He is very talented. 😄
Ann, enjoy the manicure. A little pampering never hurt any one, eh?
Kathy, as you can imagine, I am NOT a Pats fan.
Sue, have fun relaxing.

Good Morning Everyone,
DH and I had a nice day out yesterday. We took a drive to a small town about an hour north, did a little shopping, and ate what we call lunchner (late lunch/early dinner). We also stopped at a pecan farm to buy our yearly supply of pecans. We buy them cracked, shell them ourselves, and then freeze them.
Ann, thank you for getting the café up and running! Enjoy your manicure today. It’s too bad you couldn’t get the pedi today, too, but at least it’s not sandal weather right now.
Sue, I love Maurice Salads!!! It was funny that you mentioned them, because my Mother told me she went to a restaurant in Lansing the other day and ordered a Maurice Salad! She said it was exactly the same as the ones we used to get at Hudson’s back in the day. I hope the antibiotic is kicking in and you are feeling better.
Carolyn, I can’t believe that This is Us is categorized as a comedy. I certainly don’t think of it that way. I hope your furnace is still hanging in there and that your house is warmer today. I would be quite chilled at 61 degrees!
Kathy, I’m glad to hear that the knee injection wasn’t painful, and that you were able to get around OK afterwards. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your son and daughter-in-law the other night. It must give you great joy to see him so happy. You’ll have to let us know if you decide that you like This is Us or not. A few of us in our building here have talked about it, and people either like it or they don’t.
Chele, I hope you can put your mind to rest today and that Iggy has a safe trip home. I had to laugh imagining your acrobatic squirrel! Enjoy the beef stroganoff—it’s one of my favorites.
Waving to all and wishing everyone a good day.
Carol

Can anyone help me figure out how to turn my avatar picture so it's not sideways? It certainly is not sideways when I look at it on my laptop, but every time I upload it the orientation changes. By the way, it's a pic of the sunrise this morning taken from our balcony.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me!

LOL, Carol. I was just studying your picture when I read your second post. I haven't ever have that happen, and I think it happens more with Androids...is that what you have?, so I haven't paid any attention to the solution....but it's lovely, I just have to tilt my head. I will probably get an episode watched one of these days, although I'm catching up on Sherlock (not my favorite, but some brilliant writing) and Victoria starts tonight. I see that Mercy Street starts next week, but I didn't love the first season, so don't know if I'll stick with it or not. As you can see a PBS geek. Chele, are we doomed to never support the same team? ?? I think we are good representatives of the human race, showing that it's okay to not agree on everything. I hope Iggy gets home safe and sound for dinner. Ah Sue, I love my gown and coffee on Sunday AM! I think I'm going to check out the Episcopal Church were J subbed on New Year's Day, I'm just more at home there...we could still meet for coffee after church; I told him to let me know if he ever thinks I will particularly like the music, but I'm too out of the loop there. Hope getting ½ done is better than none, Ann! I had thought the same thing, that at least your feet are covered right now, LOL. Yesterday was a lovely day, I had time to get my knitting cast on (no mistakes!), watched a Sherlock, read, a little food prep. I know I have appts most days this week, but they are not all in the mornings, so I should be able to keep balance a bit better. I'll get a little exercise on the indoor bike this afternoon; I think if I was going to have a reaction, it would have already hit....Week 1 ✔ Waving to the rest of the gang!

Kathy, I took the picture this morning on my I-Phone and imported it onto my Dell laptop. The funny thing is that is the exact same thing I've done for all of the other pictures I've had as my avatar. I did a little browsing on this site, and saw where someone suggested changing the size of the picture if it comes up sideways. It might be good advice, but I don't have a clue how to resize a picture! I'll try to play around with it or put another picture up. It bums me out because it was such a pretty sunrise! Thank you for trying to help! Chele, we're watching the MSU v. OSU basketball game right now. It looks like OSU is stomping on us with 5 minutes left in the game. Hope everyone is having a good day. Carol

Oh my goodness! I figured the picture thing out! I can't believe it, but I was able to figure out how to resize it, and that did the trick. Now we know in case it happens again!

Carol ~ When I read your post, my hand shot up as if to say "pick me" because I knew the answer to your query. I only knew the answer because I had lurked around on the General thread enough that someone asked and I believe it was Deb who told them to resize it. I also knew how to do that, but, alas, you found it without me. No worries. I'm no longer sniffling over it <LOL> It is a beautiful picture and thank you so much for sharing it.
Chele ~ So sorry about your early awakening. That is one of my least favorite things in the world! May I add my hopes and prayers for Iggy's safe and timely return. Your stroganoff sounds delicious!
Kathy ~ I think I should know, but I don't. What denomination of church does J play at? I recallt hat you like the one where he subbed on NY Day. Where do you guys meet for coffee? Sounds like fun. Hope your day turned out like you hoped.
We had a delightful lunch with DH's VBF and then a successful shopping trip to Costco. Several items that we needed were on sale and won't need replacing for a very long time. I wonder at what age we should stop purchasing giant economy sizes? Just kidding ......

LOL, Sue...I quit shopping at box stores, when I moved north and had small storage! I was sad the other day when the grocery only had the big bottle of Tabasco sauce, LOL, but decided it was cheaper to buy it than go to hunt at another store.
Jeremy is playing at a Catholic Church, which is liturgically very similar to Episcopalian, so I'm not lost, but I'm also *not a part*. If I go back to this Episcopal Church (which does have an earlier service, BAH) I would head to one of the multiple coffee shops in Harvard Square afterwards...since they have lines out the door on Sunday AM for brunch, I guess I could work to get a seat by the time he got out! We'll see, but I think I'll give it a try on the next pretty Sunday...I'm not sure I feel so dedicated to wander around in bad weather from the bus.
Carol, I'm impressed that you figured it out! I know how to resize a photo on my computer, but have never tried from the phone.
