Hello I just rejoined WW (with the new program). I used to use the boards some but it looks like they no longer exist (?).
I wonder if I can join this board with you guys. I'm somewhere between 5' 2" and 5' 3".
I imagine you are a group that has been posting together for years. I'm just trying to find a good sharing group;
Are any of you still on WW with the new freestyle program? In the past many of us shorties have found we had to readjust our points down below usual WW plan if we were not intensely physically active- option not always possible for everyone due to time or health.
Lisa, there are only four of us left on here—-have been doing this for years—none of us is active in WW anymore—I reached my dr. Assigned goal about 2 years ago this month—attended regularly for about 6 months and found myself always frustrated—the way they changed it the time before this new one now did not seem to work for me—with the “punishment” points for sugar I found myself back to some closet eating of sweets—-not their issue, just my anomaly with weight and food. so I quit going—gradually gained over a year about 12 or13 pounds—Last May 30 I started tracking on My Fitness Pal and by December was back to goal—and did not feel frustrated. I think the nutrition graphs helped me look at the day differently. I input a lot of my recipes so there are a few sweets that I can track accurately—try to allow myself occasional things now. My latest accomplishment is getting off artificial sweetener—have been on all of them over the past 35 years (I am 73-oldest one on here). I have used stevia since rejoining WW 9 years ago—now only sugar and I track it=-has not caused a gain and I do believe I am having less craving of sweets.
I live in Las Vegas—was in MX the past week, another of our group is on a month long cruise crossing Atlantic right now, JoAnne and Holly will check in a few times a week ordinarily. We would love to have you join us if you feel it would help.
Would love to know how they changed the program—I do plan to go WI sometime soon just to have it on the record that I am at my goal again. I am super short—less than 5 feet—heavy by other’s standards (141) but I work out a lot—2 hrs a day at the gym and some walking. I’d like to be about 135-138 but am okay here if that does not happen. My dr. Assigned me 140–at one point I weight 215.
Welcome Lisabee! I am 70 and 123-125lb., 5’1 1/2”; Did WW for many years. High test wt. 145, lowest119. Haven’t done WW for about 4-5 yrs. Try to stay on maintenance. Usually walk as much as I can and do yard work. Love to crochet and knit. Am learning to play the violin. Recently have been sick with anemia and broken rib (from auto accident). Slowly recovering. The anemia is iron deficiency and has been intermittently for 3 yrs. Frustrating because no cause found.
I have just finished one sock of the new pair I am making; so knitting much faster now. Now have to perfect my stitches.
We stared meeting with a Life group at church Sunday. Enjoyed the fellowship and study. It is a group of older people of which there are not a lot of in our present church.
Can’t wait for good weather and being able to get out and walk again and work in the yard. Of course have to get my strength back first.
JoAnne, so have they finally decided that you really do have a broken rib? Have you had an upper GI to investigate the anemia—-BF”s DH just had one and they found a really large hiatal hernia that the dr said is bleeding. His iron had taken a nose dive which inspired the test.
Very stressful to hear upon returning that DS in SLCity bumped his head just slightly while replumbing a sink to finish up his last kitchen remodel and now has all the concussion symptoms back—depression, vision issues, needing tons of sleep and darkness—very concerning! Also he is having serious back issues—I ordered him a good tens unit and it will be delivered tomorrow—hoping to give him some pain relief.
Thanks for the explanation, Lisa. Sounds interesting—salmon no points—that’s good! I have had no chicken beef or pork for over 12 days now—have had only fish or seafood—-today started with a salmon patty, bean burger for lunch (ate only half the bun) and deviled egg and salad for dinner—but I had 150 calorie lemon bar from TJ’s and a mini Pinkberry frozen yogurt—-not so good. Did my pilates and yoga and then also spent some time planting part of my garden—some carrots, lettuce, snap peas, and brocolli so far. So at least I was pretty active today.
DS in SLCity saw a nutritionist today—-he has to go on a very high fat, high protein diet—-good fats but lots of them—fish oil and fish and lots of that—no dairy and no grains—supposed to help with the CTE from the concussions.
I am hooked on my book, Before We were Yours.
Tomorrow night we will get together with BF’S and probably play cards—maybe eat dinner here or out—-
Sunday DH is going to have cruise BF’s over to watch the super bowl but I am not into it—will go to see RENT at the Smith Performing Arts Center and take DD—we will meet with the usual broadway play group for dinner first. No idea what cruise BF’s did with their tickets but they are skipping it. Thinking about trying a new pilates class tomorrow—they are trying out another teacher as a sub to see if there is interest —I love the Tues Thurs ones. Also have dance and weights tomorrow.
Hello all—relaxing for a few before getting cleaned up for BF’s to come over—will eat dinner here—I made shrimp ceviche this afternoon and it is really good! Will serve with some chips and crackers and BF is bringing an Asian cabbage salad—I still have to cut avocado into it but was chilling it a bit first.
I did go to the sub pilates class—worked hard but honestly she was not a very good teacher—had I not been taking from someone really good who has taught us the right way to do the moves I might have hurt myself. Anyway got three hours in today and the dance and weights class were really good.
