TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C76D6, 8 water, 30 points, all ghgs, Debbie tape, G13 Y1 R1 January
I did all three sections (20 minutes each) of the Debbie Reynolds tape (stretch and tone rather than aerobics) โDo it Debbieโs Way". I also did zero night time snacking. 2 NSVโs.
Jan โ I really donโt need more than the zip โ I would just like to know that itโs relatively accurate. Iโm going to see if the wrist wearer will do some side by side walking comparisons with me before I decide to replace mine.

Nancy, great job on the exercise tapes and i love your planning ahead for your trip. The baddy folks were happy to see me...as i was them. We had fun. Only 1 other lady though...it's mostly guys.
I got a bit antsy with food yesterday and also did a convenience store stop on the way home from the visit with my folks. Everything is in the tracker though.
Now i'm off to pickleball. DH went in to work today...not sure what i'll do this afternoon. The electrician is coming to finish up the under cabinet lights (and i'm going to ask him to install one of the lights we bought over the weekend cuz DH got kind of stuck when he tried to install it). Then i might go see LaLa Land...we'll see.
hugs to all!

Hi Friends! C1D16 Treadmill D15 Well, posted & then lost it because I forgot to sign in. Nancy, I didn't even know she had made exercise tapes. Wow! Liked your comments to me yesterday. Your really doing great on the exercises. Beth, I love my undercounter kitchen lights. Use them all the time. Well, have decided to 1,200 calories a day, treadmill 30 min am & 30 min pm. Yes, like you said Nancy, write everything down that I eat, in case of slip ups, to stay accountable. Will be really hard on the treadmill for a while but can do it. Still going to count points too. Will have to start tommorrow, we're going to Okla City this morning to DFriends husband visitation, funeral and her house afterwards, probably be gone all day. Really dread it, but she was the one to introduced DH and I over 42 years ago. We all worked at Southwestern Bell. Until tommorrow. Love you all, Cindy

C26. D17. OP. Tracking. Exercising.
Last night I had a need for Intuitive Eating. The kids went out to play practice and so I had an hour. I grabbed my earphones, Sunday paper, and rocked out and read on the exercise bike. I had loud and motivating music on my playlist and got an amazingly vigerous work out (this is after going for a walk and doing 45 minutes of stretching). I got off the bike and started to shake. I knew I had overdone the exercise (though couldn't tell while on the bike) and so went straight to the fridge for unplanned food - 1 C fat free cottage cheese. That stopped the shaking. Then when the kids got home a bit later we all had dinner together. I did have more than I planned, but then I also exercised more than I planned.
I have moved to weighing myself every day and at this point I'm appreciating getting the positive feedback. It's been years since I weighed myself everyday, but I think this is a good change and helps me stay accountable.
It's a 'vacation' day, which means cleaning house, paying bills, doing farm work. For ME, I'm going on a 6 mile walk and doing 45 minutes of mindful/meditative deep stretchjing. Then DH and I will go to our boys' Science Fair at school.
I travel Tues- Thurs this week and am planning ahead, pre-tracking, checking out menus where I will be eating, and packing a bag of food and drinks. :-)
Have a great day all. I'm reading your personals, but won't get in personals today.
Kathy

Afternoon, BFF's! So far, went to pick up some ingredients for cooking, went to the gym, got some laundry going, and had lunch. DH was finally able to talk about food he would eat during the week, so a good part of the afternoon will be spent cooking or prepping.
Yesterday, I was thinking about how I wanted to go about reigning in some of my eating with a focus on health. There are things I can definitely cut back on. So, in response, I overate dessert because that was one of the things I wanted to cut back on. Just the thought of restriction, without ACTUALLY restricting, triggered the need to get as much in before the party ended. I knew exactly what I was doing. That right there is the Catch 22 of IE for me. Whether it's for the purpose of eating healthier or for losing weight, you have to restrict something. I have been happier giving myself permission to have what I want and my weight has stayed pretty steady, BUT I don't think I'm eating as healthy as I'd like. So I think I will experiment this week and see how I feel. TTYL
Lori - Yes, you remembered correctly about DH's food poisoning. He already said he won't eat anything that isn't homemade this week. Until the next time...
