Good morning and happy new week to all.
I woke up very early and thought I couldn't get back to sleep and next thing you know it was late so must have finally dozed off again.
I worked on the blanket a lot yesterday and probably will again today. Since we have to go out on the 26th to the doctor that would be a good time to mail the package if I have everything done. that probably won't happen though since I'm such a procrastinator....one of those "respectible sins" that Jerry Bridges talks about in his book
I still haven't found my discman. I think I know where it is but actually I haven't looked yet. I'll do that today after I do a little cleaning. It's Monday after all.Maybe some advance cooking too. Made some chicken in the crockpot the other day. I didn't know if dh would like it and he seemed leary but he had some and loved it so another thing to add to my list.
Well see you all later.

Good evening!
Mondays are always so long for , forgive me if I sound like a vegetable.
Ruth- glad you are getting a lot done not the blanket- I assume you are working on that adorable field of flowers one. That will be so very very pretty, but all the color changes would drive me absolutely insane. I do hope that you can get everything done to mail the package on the 26th. It would make things a lot easier for you if you could, especially if you will be out for a lot of doctor visits and testing. That stinks that you have not located the diskman yet- you wanted that to listen to the Bible on CD, right?
Today was a typical MOnday. Worked and watched the grandkids today. We made finger puppets (from felt) and read. They were pretty good- no complaints from me. I did get some crocheting done on the bus this afternoon while waiting for the students to come out.
Hope everyone had a good day

Ginny, I'm glad to hear you were able to get some crocheting done and that you had a good time with the dgc. Doing crafts with them sounds like a lot of fun. You are so creative.
Well I did search for the discman but didn't find it. I know where it used to be and that was on the bottom shelf of my coffee table but I took everything off there to put another table in it's place and now I have no idea where it is. I searched several places. So then I looked online.Didn't have any luck there either. Mine was a good one and worked well...would have probably worked even better if I'd read the directions and found out about all the options. Anyway for one of that caliber it costs a lot. I know mine was a good price when I bought it. I used to take it with me on my walks. So I'll just keep searching and one day it will turn up. I have several cassette players but that was the only cd player except for the 7 or 8 players (ok so maybe I'm exaggerating a little maybe there's only six. I know we have a few of the boom box type) that are table models but I can't hear those and even if I could I want one with headphones so that I don't disturb dh when he's sleeping and could also use it when he's watching tv.And yes it was for listening to hte Bible on cd and also listening to my cd's of hymns. And I would like to have it for when I start walking outside again.
I hope the other "girls" are having a good Monday and that you, Ginny, get a good rest tonight before going back to work tomorrow

Good evening everyone. Ginny, sounds like you had a busy day driving the bus and baby sitting. The babysitting alone would probably tire you out. I haven't done any knitting so far today but I might do a few rows before I go to bed. Devin didn't go to school today after all but he will go tomorrow. I did make him put away some of his Christmas gifts and pick up his dirty clothes which were all over his bedroom. I was trying to log into Pinterest this evening but just couldn't sign in no matter what I tried. I will try again tomorrow.
Ruth, Healthy Choice does make soup and my favorite is Chicken and rice. Not a lot of stores carry their soups but I get mine at the commissary. I have seen them at the Dollar store and another store like that. It has been raining a lot here which is good as we need all the rain we can get. I thought Devin was going back to school today but he starts back tomorrow. DS did go back to work. So hopefully I will have the house to myself tomorrow. I liked the flower pattern and might try it when I feel like sitting and watching a tutorial on the computer. BTW you don't sound like someone who procrastinates because you are always so busy. Hope you find your discmam. When I can't find something I pray about it and it usually turns up.
Have a good night and sleep well.

Hello to all. I hope you're all doing well and having a good day. I know Ginny is busy with working and all. So far today I've only gotten to showing dh all the CD's he has. He had kind of lost track of where they were. Still didn't find my cd player but I'm sure it will show up very soon now because during the night dh ordered me a new one. I can't believe the number of cassette tapes we have too and that's after a got rid of a LOT of them a few years back. As I said, we do have quite a few cassette players. We also have cassette recorders and lots of blank cassettes in case we want to record. We're sure in the dark ages when it comes to all these gadgets. The only crafting I did yesterday was to come to this crafting thread and look at patterns from the newsletter I get every day. Same one as Ginny gets I forgot to mention that the blanket I'm making is for the dgd that said I'm the best crocheter in the universe It just happens that her bday is coming up. I think Ginny's correct in saying that dgd will love it and it will add to her nice delusion about my crocheting skill. Well I think I'm going to look some more for the discman. I did pray about it Meg. YOu're sure right that God is interested in all of our life and will help according to HIs plan for us. Sometimes there may be a lesson in patience if He doesn't show us where the lost item is.And I think Meg that it was you that said you don't think I procrastinate but believe me, I sure do.I procrastinated, for instance, in calling to have dh's blood work ordered and now I'm worried about the results. Should have done that months ago See you all later

Hello everyone,
We had lots of rain but it has stopped for now but it still looks pretty wet outside. Devin is at school which means the computer is free. I didn't do any knitting yesterday but hope to do that today. I haven't done much today so farbut I did balance my checkbook. I need to lose some weight which I gained between Oct and the end of the year so I am trying to get myself organized. I haven't been to WW for a long time but I may have to go and get some discipline in my eating if I can't do it on my own.
Ruth, I am sure your DGD is quite right and you are the greatest crocheter in the universe you make so many projects and you are always busy. Patience is a very important lesson to learn when praying. I learned that lesson many years ago.
I will try and check back later. Have a great day

That you Meg. I like to think I'm a pretty decent crocheter but there's a lot I can learn. I'm glad you got some rain because I know you need it. I bet it felt good to have the house to yourself for awhile
Phyl, I'll be praying and I know things are going to go well. By the time I get up you'll be done with the surgery for sure.
CJ, I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a big collection of cassette players, cassettes, cd, cd players and boom box type players as well as table models that do all kinds of things..radio, dvd and cassette and recording capability.
And speaking of CD players, I was right. First dh found one in his "cave" and just now I found mine. I've been searching in that spot and one of the things there is a box of 8x10 pictures in frames and photo albums. Well just now I moved one picture and there was my discman under it. So mystery solved and prayer of thanks sent. Those two are quite old though so it won't hurt to have another. I tried the one dh found. It sounds staticy and has only a 10 second skip protector while the other has 40 seconds. The one dh bought me has 60 and also has mp3 capability which the other two don't and I'm glad of that because for a few years I've had an audio cd of the New Testament and couldn't play it because it required a player that was mp3 compatible. It won't work on my laptop either and I really thought it would but then I don't understand all this technology.I still don't know where the one dh found was from. It must be from my ds before he left for the Army.

A good thing came out of the lost discman though. I looked in places I hadn't looked in awhile...as in years probably...and I was able to get dh to get rid of some of the huge collection of remotes that we had piled up from old tv's, old vcr's, old dvd players, etc. He also got rid of some paper work that went with some things we don't have anymore.
Between that old message and this one I made a bunch of stuffed cabbage leaves and put in the slow cooker for tomorrow. They always taste better the next day.
My yarn came from Michael's today but I haven't opened the box yet. Now I get to see how nice that yarn is and try to plan when I can start making the scarf but, as they say, first things first. I'll work on the blanket the rest of this evening.... I think.

Good evening!
Phyl- will keep you in prayer- that the procedure goes smoothly and that your nerves are calm. The Lords will be with you and bless you. God Bless.
Meg- glad you are getting some much needed rain, although I know that further north of you the rain is causing horrible mud slides. When you get organized and back on track for WW please give me a kick in the can....I do hope that you are able to get back on program and take off the weight that you want to.
Ruth, so glad you found the diskman! And with what you accomplish, I consider you a very good crocheted.
CJ- glad you are enjoying the milder weather! Do you know which project you will start on when you do get the momentum to?
Just after I dropped off my last students, my bus broke down. It made for a long afternoon. I am super thankful that it broke where it did- it was an easy place to pull off the road and wait for help.
Hope everyone has a good evening Ginny

Ruth, the yarn is lovely- and so very soft. I hope you like it.
I called Hershcnerrs today as my order has still not gotten here. They said they will send out another order to me if I do not get the package on Thursday. G

Thank you Ginny and sorry your bus broke down but I'm glad to that it broke down in a place where you could safely pull off the road.
Herrrschners usually is very prompt in sending their orders so I'm surprised. I got some from them today but I don't even know when I ordered it. I'd have to look in my email. It's cotton yarn and a strange color. I don't even remember ordering his color but I'm sure I did. It's a nice black and white and is called granite splash and by Premier.
ok went and looked and I ordered it on 12/11. No wonder I don't remember. I ordered a bunch of cotton yarn that day and the rest all got here a long time ago. This must have been backordered

Good morning! Ruth, i cannot wait to see how you like the yarn. Most likely you will get to work with it before I will. I remember you ordering the cotton yarn- gee that color granite splash sounds very pretty.
My Hershcnerrs order shipped 2 days later- its lost on the system somewhere and neither tHershenerrs nor I was able to track where it is. It was last logged in in New Jersey on December 30.
Getting my hair done this am.
Phyl- praying that today goes well for you. Ginny
