Good Wednesday all.
Well it was nice when I got up. It was about 40 degrees then but all of a sudden about an hour ago the temp started to plummet , dropped suddenly to 30 and started to snow and 15 min later down to 20. so it does look like we're going to get a bit of the white stuff. We were planning on going to get blood work tomorrow but that might not happened now but it's two week before we see the doctor so we have time. Also dh's sciatica flared up with a vengeance and he can hardly walk or even move much.
I did open the yarn this morning and it's just as you described, Ginny. It's beautiful and so nice and soft! I'll make a scarf for myself and one for the two oldest dgds in In. Not right now but at least they will be ready for next year. Yesterday we got thank you notes and letters fromall the grands there for the gifts they got with the money we sent. I send it to the parents and they decide what to do with it.It sounds like they really got a lot for the money. All of them mentioned that their membership in Adventures in Odyssey was their favorite. I used to listen to it on the radio on my to work and liked it too even though I was even then an "older" adult.I'm not exactly clwell ear on what the membership is but the kids all seem to really love it, whatever it entails
I hope Phyl is done with surgery and is well on her way to being able to go home or is even home by now and I do pray she's feeling ok and results of surgery are good.
I worked on the blanket yesterday and will today too while I keep dh company and take care of him. I'm glad I got those cabbage rolls done so we're all set for food for today...and tomorrow...and the next day....hahaha..I made a lot, but actually I'll probably freeze some.If we do go out I want to get dh some pizza. He hasn't had any in quite awhile.

Good evening! Was today’s surgery for fPhyl the cyst or her back? I pray that all does go well, and figure if she’s coming home this evening it must’ve been the cyst. Ruth, what color that you wanted to get? I think mine is called onyx, it’s all blacks and grays. So soft so very pretty can’t wait to work with myself. My kids loved adventures in odyssey also! What a wonderful program. I still have some of the CDs of the programs, and want to play them for my grandchildren now.
Got to go clean up from dinner. Hi to Meg and CJ

Ruth, are you going to use that scarf pattern that I found to make the scarf- or another one. (Think I am living vicariously on making this scarf through you). Glad you have time to get Dh’s blood work done before the doctors appointment. The snowfall you got sure sounds like it snuck in and was not expected. Sciatica is painful!! My mom had 2 or 3 episodes with it in her life (during her last 5 or 6 years) and it really made her uncomfortable - she ended up being housebound for a week or so during each episode. Will pray for you and Dh - you will need patience dealing with him ( hope he is a good patient!).
Guess I will go crochet a bit before my eyes get too heavy. G

Ginny, I'm going to use the pattern you shared with us but I think I might make it as an infinity scarf instead of a "normal" scarf. I'm not sure yet.
Dh hasn't had any xrays or anything but he does have bad arthritis all over his body on top of whatever has been causing his joint, muscle and tendon pain that he's had for years. Yes doctor's going to hear about it this time.
Yes today's surgery for Phyl is the cysts... I think on US they found she had two...and I'm pretty sure she said they were taking out tubes and ovaries also. Years back you would have to stay in the hospital a week or more but now they do it as a laporoscopic surgery and as outpatient surgery. The other surgery she's going to have is hip replacement. I have to go look on over 60's to see if she's posted there anywhere. She posts on so many threads. I never read them but I see her name pop up as having posted. If I see her today I'll probably read to see how things went.
Yes our high for today I found out was 46 about 10am....at 6pm it was 14
I've been working on the blanket. I thought I was about 1/3 done but it's 15 inches and I want to make it 50 so I have quite a bit to go yet....well that's almost a third.
Have a great evening. I hope Meg and CJ are doing ok

Phyl's husband, Don, posted on over 60's. He said she is home and sore and walking slowly but is ok. He said they told him there is no cancer but of course they sent a biopsy anyway. The surgery took longer than they thought because the cyst was close to the bowel and they had to go slowly. So we can all prayer our prayers of thanks

Ruth, thanks for the update on Phyl. Think it’s sweet that Don left a post regarding her. Pfew , it’s a big relief that it is most likely not cancer. Big relief for them. I️ know it’s a good thing that surgery is so much less invasive and healing takes place more quickly. Will keep Phyl in prayer.
Sounds like your Needs prayer too, and yes it is time the doctor knew how uncomfortable he is. Surely you will help him get the attention he needs.
We are in for warmer temps and rain in the next few days
Will stop in later to chat

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - I'm glad to hear you are doing well and that it wasn't cancer. Hope you can find some things to do while you are healing. Ruth - I hope the doctors can find out what is causing your husband's pain. Glad to hear your blanket is coming along. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to safely get your bus off the road after it broke down. I've had cars break down while I'm driving them but I can't imagine handling a bus! Hope you get your order soon, and that you enjoy the warmer weather. Meg - Hope you are getting some crafting in and maybe listening to a good book. I went out yesterday and ran some errands, so now I don't need to go out for a few days. The weather is nice and milder here at least until Saturday. Then we're supposed to get colder weather again. Take care everyone!

Hello all
Phyl, it was so nice of Don to post the message about you. We were all thinking of you and praying for successful surgery with good results. I know you will be lost not being able to get out and about. But do rest and recover before your next surgery
Well we didn't go out after all. It did snow but not much but dh was in even more pain and had an weird episode of dizziness and feeling hot all over and "funny" feelings in his head. His bp was a little elevated but that's common when having pain and concern over what the episode was. His blood sugar and oxygen level were fine. So it's another thing to discuss with the doctor. Meanwhile, while keeping an eye on him I did some cleaning and laundry...laundry rooom is just outside master bedroom and we have our "pantry" in the little alcove off that bathroom so I straightened that out too and got rid of some seriously outdated cans. I love buying bargains but they aren't much of a bargain if they don't get used so I need to make a plan to use these things that I have now before they become too outdated.I don't mind using things..well most things...after the so called exp date but other things just aren't safe to use.The ones I tossed today were cans and jars of gravy. Even if they were on sale I have no idea why I bought them because I make my own gravy which is why they were never used.
CJ, I'm glad to hear that the weather is improving in your area.
Ginny, I hope you have a good day and no more breaking down of the bus.
Now I'm going to go do some more cleaning and orgainizing of things and do some crocheting. See you later

Phyl, as busy a person as you are , I️ can imagine that a few days of downtime to heal must be difficult. It’s good to hear that you are ok and improving from yesterday. Will keep you in prayer. Really glad that this first procedure is over! Rest up

Hello everyone, I am having a lazy day though I did have to pick Devin up from school. Nothing very exciting happening here.. I will be glad when I get my new glasses. I have an appointment to get my vision checked next week and then I can order my new glasses. I did get quite a bit of my b/blanket done last evening. I am almost at the 1/2 way point. I need to start working on another blanket then I can switch back and forth.
Phyl, I hope you are making a good recovery from your surgery. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
Ginny, sorry your bus broke down and I hope they have fixed it by now. The good part is that you don't have to pay for the repairs. I probably wont go back to WW. I will only rejoin if I really need to. My weight was down about 2lbs this a.m. It isn't raining today and the sun is out. I am glad I don't have to deal with the mud slides, it isn't anywhere near me. The grass is very green here at the moment due to the rain.
cj, I hope you are keeping busy if you have to stay in doors if your weather is bad.
Ruth, I hope you found your player. I used to listen to cassettes a lot but now not so much any more. I am sleep so I had better go and rest my eyes and Devin wants the computer.

Checked in before and then I got a phone call- good to see Meg make it here in the interim!
Meg, it sure will be nice getting new glasses with two cataract free eyes! I seems like just yesterday when you were starting this latest afghan- wow you are making wonderful progress on it. Do you have plans for the second blanket- the one you will switch back and forth with? That is a good way to eliminate boredom- what a great idea.
CJ- this weather is nice enough (at least in your area) to enjoy being outside....hope you can do that and get some sunshine in before the cooler weather returns.
Ruth, hope that your DH is ok! I wonder if he is getting the flu- not that he is showing classic flu symptoms, but the light headedness and feeling hot all over can be part of it. Will pray for him and you as you keep an eye on him. Oh, I have the same problem with the pantry- its great to stock up but only a good deal if you use the stuff!!
Well, I have had a spare bus now for 2 days and will have that spare tomorrow also. My bus is due for inspection next week - so the mechanics get our buses in top shape for that biannual event. Next week I will have to clean it for inspection- its a nasty job.
Babysat today in addition to work. Hope I have the energy in a little bit to get a row or two done of crocheting. G

Meg, you're really making progress on those blankets. Will the other be knit or crochet? I'm glad you're having a quiet day and hope your evening is relaxing too. Yes it will be great to have new glasses as well as those new lenses in both eyes Ginny, I saw on the news that your area is in for bad weather...or at least that's what it looks like on the map. I'll be praying that it either snows so that you don't have to work at all or that the weather is clear. and for no icy roads. I do hope you got to relax and get in a few rows of crocheting. The bus inspection sounds like a lot of work. Is this the NYS vehicle inspection or something the school district requires or maybe both combined? Sometimes it must make for very tiring days to both work and babysit also. This has happened to my dh once before so I don't think it's the flu. That and the fact that it went away makes me think it's not.It may have been just the combination of the really severe pain and coughing which of course makes the pain worse. The coughing is due to his copd. And thank you so much for the prayers. You are a very kind and caring person as are the others on here. I haven't got to any crocheting yet today. I did sort out my recent yarn acquisitions and I also cleaned my "office" which was full of yarn and projects so that, of course counts as crafting And now I'm going to get to doing some crocheting. It's only 9:30 here so I have a couple hours to work on it.

Good evening everyone.
Phyl. I am so glad that you are home and you will feel more comfortable each day. I think it is marvelous how they do surgery now compared with how it wad done a few years ago. I hope your next surgery goes as well for you. I will continue to pray for you.
Ruth, I will also add your DH to my prayers.
Now I am off to bed. Good night sleep well.

Good morning!
Yes, everyone here is so kind- that is why I am here posting daily. This is such a nice group of “friends”.
Meg, hope you slept well.
Ruth, My DSIL has COPD- not a fun diagnosis. I know they seem to be coming out with new meds for that all the time, but of course so many medications have bad side effects. Hope that Dh’s COPD can be managed well with low side effect meds- and that his doctors truly see the whole picture of his medical state so that he gets the best care possible. He is lucky to have you as his advocate. So glad you got the yarn all straightened out. It will make things easier when you are looking for something for a project. I sure can go nuts looking for a component for crafting when I am not well organized....so the time you put in is time very well spent. Hope you got to crochet also last night!
Ok- called Hershcnerrs this am- they reordered the Christmas ornament kits I wanted. Let’s hope that these do not get lost somewhere in Secaucus NJ- which is where the last order went astray.
Yes crummy weather is on the way. Tomorrow we might have to help Dd with some transportation as we are in for freezing rain. Today is warm, with regular rain and a lot of fog.
DOT- inspection of the bus is done twice a year and something mandated by NYS. NYS is a pain in the neck with respect to school bus law- but we have the best safety statistcs in the nation because things are so strict. For that I am proud of what I do and where I do this. It amazes me when I talk to drivers in NJ how much less stringent they are in that state.
Got a few errands to run. Perhaps that calls to Herrschners might be my only crafting today. Grrrrr.....
