OH Meg, thank you so much!!! The only thing I need to know now is what size needle that uses because the number of stitches to cast on would depend on the size needle. And now that you mention it, I might have that same DVD. (I don't know where mine is right now either) I think I bought it awhile ago when you mentioned it on the old knitting and crocheting thread on WW board...thank you, thank you, thank you.

Ruth I think I used either a no. 9 or 10 circular needle. you could knit it on 2 needles but I don't like the seam.
OK I just looked at the pattern Worsted weight yarn Red Heart Super Saver. No. 8 needles, gauge 15sts = 4", 22 rows = 4" I have knit this cap with all sorts of yarn and I think I used a 9 or 10 needle.
I am sure I saw that DVD a few days ago and I can't remember where I put it. I have the Crochet DVD by Coats and Clark. The knitting one is also by Coats and Clark. Having UTube to go to for help makes it so easy.
I did print out two baby blanket patterns from Pinterest this evening. I just want to do something different.
Now I need to think about bed. Good night.

Thank you Meg, I do definitely want to make the hat on circulars. My seams on knitted things leave a lot to be desired. They're terrible. And I think 9 is a good size so even if the pattern says 8 I still think that it would work fine with that number of stitches casted on. I'm going to write that in my crafting notebook. Awhile back I made a lot of knit hats while I was on vacation in Arkansas. My dh still wears one that I made him while down there but I couldn't count the stitches on it to know how many to use because that one was made holding two strands of worsted weight yarn together so was more equivalent to bulky yarn and I also don't remember what size needle I used. Now I just need to look thru my collection onf circulars to find a 9 or if I can't find that I'll use an 8. I think that I might actually have a couple in size 8. It's been awhile so I may need practice. Thanks again
