YES BECKY I think our dear ANGELA would be laughing as we gripe about our low in the high 30's. And our arctic express will bring the highs to 34.
I'm going to get ready for bed. Ciao bambinas.

SUZE- I'm with CELESTE. You need to relax and pamper yourself so you can get over this funk.
CELESTE- glad Petey is doing so well. I was thinking about how you describe him rolling his eyes back in his head with his third eyelid showing when he feels bad.....That's how I envisioned myself looking yesterday.
My DSIL asked me what I want for Christmas. I told her a mandoline veggie slicer. Would love it for making zucchini lasagna noodles. Plus finely sliced onions. I put several kitchen related items on my list this year. Maybe they will help keep me on track.
Got my steps in today. Only got half of them in when I was sick....and that was better than I expected!

Both of my dgds are getting kitchen related items. It's what they wanted and it was easy. They have also done all the shopping for their mother and I will make a contribution.
Our weather is crazy, last week we had to drip the pipes and on Sunday we are going to hit 80. No wonder so many people are sick.

I need to get a picture up here…I can’t find my posts!
CELESTE/CONNIE that is exactly what I did, and I was curled up in the afternoon under 2 quilts on the couch to warm up (Lu was gasping for air, lol), then slept through the entire night. I feel so much better today.
CELESTE Oh so true on the thank you notes and envelopes! I’ve thought the same darn thing. I swear, I’ve NEVER seen such temperature swings until I moved to TX. LOL on PETEY – I swear you may be right! (I seem to be swearing a lot.) I have made stuffed zucchini with Italian sausage, and I love the squash/sausage combination.
CONNIE good to hear you are feeling better. And what I also need to do to get out of this funk is take care of my needs FIRST! I get so frazzled running in different directions, and yesterday was the result. Enough!
BECKY pineapple is like dessert to me. YUM.
ANGIE sending the waaambulance your way. But I understand…that’s dang cold!
LOUISE I agree – I know the swings in weather affect my allergies big time.
Today is our department Christmas lunch and I’ve pre-ordered (no pot luck this time). That’s a good thing, because I know exactly what I ordered, i.e., forced control. Rhonda and I split an order of the meatball “appetizer” (enough for 2) and then I order a dinner salad.
I would like a toaster oven…probably a convection type. I think it’s funny; I’ve NEVER owned a toaster oven and really didn’t know what you could use them for. After talking to my sister and SIL, I’m like – I can do THAT with one of those? It would be handy not to heat up the oven for 1 person meals. And I’ve decided to off my old pans and buy some new cookware. I know what I want; I just need to order them. The other gift for me would be a small mini-hearth/heater…handy. Again, I tested out a friend’s and it was nice to take the chill off of a room without blasting the furnace.
Needs to get some things done before the party. We generally have a raucous gift exchange with a lot of laughs.
Tonight I plan to go pick up a couple of last gifts so I don’t have to go Saturday. I need to mail one, so I’ll send it from Staples this evening. It has to go out asap.
Enjoy the day all! BBL

ewwwww On CONNIE w/ her 3rd eyelid rolled back. I call them his ZOMBIE eyes. You would look like the walking dead.
LOUISE somehow I must have gotten my "weather memo" mixed up. I thought for sure today was going to be in the 70's. I went outside to walk Petey and it was SO DANG COLD. He peed and insisted on coming right back in. Like "I'll poop when the sun comes up." It's currently 34 feels like 29. THAT IS NOT 70's. OK i just looked on weather.com. Fri and Sat are in the 70's. Sunday high of 32 low of 19. That's crap!
mmmmmm SUZE on the stuffed zucchini. I've done that before and Bob and I both enjoyed it. I really like zucch in general. Versatile. I also don't have a toaster oven but Karin, one of my single friends in Plano, uses hers almost every day. One of the things she would do is, I'm not sure if it was Kroger or Costco, but she'd get these fish filets that were very lightly breaded w/ a bit of parmesan cheese and she'd pop 2 of those in the toaster oven for a quick meal. She'd just do a salad or side of veggies. Get one of these for yourself:
www.plowhearth.com/compact-electric-stove.htm
or
www.plowhearth.com/panoramic-quartz-infrared-stove-heater.htm
Bob got me the 2nd one for taking the chill off the screened in patio. It really puts out a fair amount of heat when on high. But on days like this, it's too cold to even use this. It would be a losing proposition in a screened room.

Seriously? That's bizarre, well...that's Texas.
Nice stoves...the second would blast me out seeing as it heats 1,000 square feet.

So I was hungry (only had pineapple for lunch), and I wanted soup b/c it's soup weather. But I wanted reasonable sodium and most of my canned soup has noodles or potatoes too. I took 1 lg can whole tomatoes and mushed them w/ my hands. I sauteed 1/2 red onion chopped, added the tomatoes w/ juice, and 8 oz broth. Heated it up. Did the immersion blender and then added about 1/2 cup coconut milk (from the can not the stuff in the milk case). Basil. VOILA super duper cream of tomato soup.

Suze,I hope you are feeling better today. Is that a picture of your Lulu?I'm glad you slept yesterday. The pineapple tasted like dessert to me b/c I never buy it and it was so good.Kenneth didn't eat any fruit and had a big cookie.I wasn't even tempted b/c I knew they weren't homemade and if cookies aren't homemade they are not worth the splurge to me.
Angie,When you get thru with the whaambulance send it my way. I got off my recliner this morning to get my Fitbit charger and I got dizzy. It's happened a couple of times before but normally if I just stand there a couple of seconds it will go away. Not this morning.I was kind of out of it for a couple of seconds and found myself on the floor.I asked myself how did I end up here?I don't think I blacked out or passed out but I couldn't remember falling but it must have been a hard fall b/c my butt still hurts.LOL!Needless to say I didn't go to Curves but went to WM with Kenneth in case something went wrong.I don't know what caused it but I'm feeling a little better now but not 100% yet.
Suze,You did good at your Christmas lunch.WTG!We have a toaster oven but not the new convection types but there's no more counter space.I ordered an electric tea kettle that I can heat up hot water in for my hot tea.It came in today.I just need to clean it out so I can use it in the morning.
Celeste,I don't blame Petey. It's been downright disagreeable today before the sun came out.I even bought a heavier coat while we were out.I have a light fleece jacket but not a warm coat.I think here tomorrow we are expecting a high of 70 and a high of 78-81(they can't seem to make up their mind)on Saturday then a low of 34-36 on Sun and not get out of the 30's all day.I think it's supposed to stay cold thru Tues.Geez!Don't they know this is Texas?Did the canned tomatoes have a lot of sodium?Other than that possibility that sounds like a delicious basil.I made chili beans last night and we will have leftovers tonight and a couple of more nights after tonight.

CELESTE- It's tomato soup weather! I had Campbell's tomato soup made with 2% milk and a grilled cheese for supper. Yum. It's 18 degrees here with a wind chill of 11 right now. It's supposed to get up to 62 on Saturday with rain. More rain Sunday, but a high of only 44.
BECKY- you're lucky you didn't really hurt yourself. Are you well hydrated? Dehydration is the primary reason every time I pass out. (And if you don't remember the fall, you DID lose consciousness. Even if only for a few seconds.) Low blood pressure can cause it too. You stand up and all the blood (and oxygen) falls to your feet. Next time you feel dizzy upon standing, sit back down and flex your feet/legs for a few minutes, then try standing again.
I got up today and walked on the treadmill. Then got ready for work and came downstairs to write out bills. Amazing how quickly the paycheck disappears. But I'm looking forward to paying off several things in 2017. The kitchen at the rental house will be paid off by May. It's on a zero percent interest account, so that has been nice. Am hoping to pad my emergency savings.....an area where I always seem to be lacking.
