Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm glad you are home early and off the road, and maybe a late arrival tomorrow. If we had 4-5 inches here all the schools would be closed, this area just can't handle snow Your class sounds interesting, I hope you can find the fabric you want and enjoy the class. Meg - I'm glad you got your big shopping done. Hope you got some better sleep last night and that you're enjoying your book. I think the V Stitch looks interesting, I'd like to try it sometime. Ruth - I'm sorry to hear that your DD will require surgery and that she is in pain. I hope they can get it scheduled for soon so she can recover. Also hope you do get some warmer weather. Your baked goods sound good, I'm sure you DH enjoyed them. Phyl - Hope you enjoy your class today. Did the tooth fairy come for Hannah? What's the going rate these days for a tooth? I love the Tractor Supply store. That's where I get my suet cakes for the birds and I also like to pick up their quarterly free magazine and read the stories. I've also found some warm gloves there. It's also fun to go when the new chicks are in season, since they keep them in an area of the store (under warm lights). It's fun to see them since I don't have to raise them Thanks for all the support on me getting back on track with my eating. I'll do good for a week, then I seem to stumble. But the important thing is that I keep trying. I'm feeling pretty strong this week so hopefully I can have an on track. I did get my shopping done today so I'm ready for the snow - 1-2 inches maybe. I came home and made some homemade Vegetable Beef Barley Soup, so I can eat that over the next few days. Take care everyone!

Ginny, I'm glad you got out of work early so you and the kiddies are safe. The boot is just for comfort until she has the surgery. She has to have all the preops that people have in even larger surgeries since it's to be done under anesthesia so I think maybe she's having it done Thursday. I'd better check in case I have to be the one to take her as that's the day that dh and I were planning to get blood work done.If so we'll get the blood work done tomorrow. I hope you're able to find the fabric you want both for the new table runner and for the class. The casserole I made just had bread, eggs, sausage, and cheese. I'd like the tator tot one myself but dh doesn't like them. Of course he might if he tried them in this casserole or if I put hash browns in it.
CJ, yes you are so correct in saying that the important thing is getting back up when you stumble. You're doing great. And whatever you do don't feel guilty if and when you do go offtrack temporarily. That is hard but it's counterproductive as I'm sure you know.
Dh and I made beef, veggie and barley soup a couple weeks ago. He had that for lunches.. I didn't know Tractor supply sold chicks. We'll definitely have to stop there now. There used to be another store here that sold chicks, ducklings and goslings. One time I was away for a few days to a work conference and dh took son to that store and bought two baby geese. We had them for quite awhile before the one started getting mean so we got rid of him. Then the female laid an egg and she sat on it constantly for about a month even though it wasn't fertilized. We had to take the egg away to get her to get off of it and eat. We finally took her out to a reservoir and let her go free.Even though we live in a semi rural area our HOA doesn't allow "farm animals"including fowl, but no one said anything.

Hello everyone. I did sleep well last night but I still wanted to sleep longer this morning. I have been lazy but I will have to pick Devin up after 3 p.m. and that will be my outing for today. I didn't do any knitting yesterday but will probably will ake myself get busy today. I have been reading a lot and the book is not audio. I did watch some tutorials on UTube so that counts as crafting. I crocheted several chevron afghans a long time ago and lost the pattern but I found the pattern on UTube so I will probably make something using that stitch in the near future.
Phyl, I hope you enjoy the class. Sorry you lost your post yesterday. I hate when that happens. I usually don't want to rewrite it. Is Hannah your granddaughter? I hope the tooth fairy pays her s visit.
Ginny, I have an appointment on the 23rd to have my vision checked and I will probably get a prescription for new glasses then. After my surgery for my left eye I got a prescription for new glasses. The cost for the new glasses is covered by my insurance. I do see much better but the new glasses will make my eye sight much better. I hope.Of course I still have to deal with the macular degeneration. When I do my big grocery shopping I go to the commissary which takes about 30 mins. to get there so that is not too far. DS usually goes with me and he does the heavy lifting. I hope you are enjoying your day off and that the snow doesn't cause you any problems. Stay warm.
Ruth, sorry it is so cold and I hope you and your DH are keeping warm.. yesterday you mentioned you had Raynaud's and I didn't know what that was so I looked it up. I don't think I have Raynaud's though my feet get cold. I saw one web site where they sell socks that they say keep your feet warm. Have you tried them? I may order a pair.
cj, hope all is well with you today.
Now I need to get dressed and get ready to go and pick Devin up from school.
Keep warm and sleep well.

Meg, I am anxious for you to get your new glasses- glad that appointment is just around the corner. Bet they will make a big difference too. What a blessing that your insurance covers it, glasses are pricey. A 30 minute drive for your shopping is not too bad- commissary has great prices and makes it well worth it. When do you plan on having Janet home again?
CJ- I sent another tutorial from Craftsy to you on free motion quilting, Have not read it myself yet, but I do usually find their blogs helpful. Hope you did not get too much snow....
Ruth- hoping you can get everyone’s blood work done, Yes, I will keep Dd in prayer and you too. Probably a good idea to check to see that she has made good plans for her children and transportation for the procedure. I know lots of times Dh and I find we are the safety net and really needed in a pinch.
Yes, we got about 5 + inches of snow, and school is closed. The darned plows woke me up at 3 am, I was sure I would have school. But they closed, the snow is just ending now.Been a peaceful day home with the family.
Hope to get some crocheting time in later on.
Phyl, how are you doing- how did the Russian felt Santa class go? G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I have problems with this website sometimes too. Glad you get to have the day off, hopefully you can get some rest today since you were woken up by the plows. Thanks for the links to info on machine quilting, I enjoy checking them out. Meg - I'm sure your anxious for your new glasses, I hope they help your vision a lot. You're fortunate to have your DS to help you with the large grocery items. Ruth - That was an interesting story about the geese you had. We had a duck when I was a child and I remember my parents taking it to a small lake and releasing it, I think it was getting mean and destructive too. We also used to get those small chicks that they dyed pastel colors at Easter. It was cute then, but it seems so cruel now. I'm sure most of them died. Phyl - Hope the class was fun, I'll be interested to hear about it. We only got about a trace to half an inch of snow. It was the powdery kind so I was able to sweep off the steps, sidewalk and cars very easily. It's still cold here, in the 20s, but supposed to be up in the 50s later this week. I finally made some appointments today that I'd been putting off - car servicing and furnace servicing. I still need to make a dental appointment to see about starting the process for an implant - I've been putting that off Take care everyone!

Good evening!
CJ, glad you got something out of that craft Article. I️ haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but again hope that it has some valuable information. What a relief that you did not get much snow. Cleanup sounded easy! Glad you got those appointments made. Ask your dentist about if you will need to have bone added to your jaw and the care of the implant that is needed for daily hiegene later on. I️ have an implant, and am very glad I️ made that choice. But they are work and not as simple as a bridge. I️ am sure you will make the best choice for you!
Got some crocheting in.... wish we had tomorrow off too G

Hello ladies, I'm late getting here today I spent a bit of time on the blanket the visited with dh, did all the usuals and am now in the "winter quarters" with my laptop, tv, and crocheting.
Ginny, I'm glad you had the day off and I wish, too that you would have tomorrow off also. I also wish they would let you know sooner so that you don't have to think about it all evening wondering.
CJ, I'm glad you didn't get much snow and it was easy to sweep away. I'm glad to hear that you got your appointments made. I still need to make dh an eye doctor appointment. The car we don't use much and despite the fact they say to have the oil changed every 3 months even if youj don't have the 3000 mileage we don't do that. It really doesn't make sense to have the oil changed with only about 300 miles from the previous change. And we don't have a furnace so no need for maintenance for that. My dentist office asked about implants but the cost was prohibitive and the cost quoted probably didn't include costs for bone grafts if needed. And yes, I was wondering about the care of them. One woman on another thread has them and one day ate almonds and nearly broke her jaw. Her dentist told her never to eat such hard things with them
I'm getting tired of working on this blanket now so it may end up shorter than planned but I think I looked up average ht for 11 year olds instead of 9 yr olds so I don't think it needs to be too much longer than it is now and I would still have to put on the edging so that would add an inch or so too.I dread the weaving in of all these ends.
I'll take a small project with me tomorrow to work on while waiting for blood draw.
Meg, if you're having lazy days it must be that you need the rest so rest whenever you get a chance.

good morning, yes the class was fun. except dummy me didn't use the reverse pattern to trace and then connie helped me get that done so I could get my pieces ironed on. now to stitch them. maybe I thought knew things and got ahead of myself. won't make that mistake again.
now the pattern calls for fabric blocks in between the wool blocks. we are not doing those. this quilt is huge without adding the other blocks. fact I will have no place to hang it when it is done. takes upa lot of wall space.
on the back of the wool we are using a product called101.think it is a stablelizaer and made for embroidery. we iron it on then trim it to size. can't remember why but if you don't trim it it does something. will have to ask connie next month.
at the funeral yesterday they displayed Marilyn's quilts. I knew she was a beautiful quilter and beautiful handwork person. when you get to look up close oh my gosh! her hand quilting and embroidery is out of this world. I could not do those tiny stitches to save my soul. the quilters here would have loved to see those quilts and be amazed. fact her friend louise tells the story of how they went to new york because a quilt they worked on was on display. that is something. I have never seen that quilt. wonder f I could google it. her quilts will have a good home. she has a son , 2 dd, and grandchildren.
there is a Christmas tree wall hanging I liked. I kept looking at it yesterday. it is from a canadian magazine. louise has the pattern will pass it on t ome. problem is the measurements are In metic. louise says they also have them in us. the pattern wants you to make a grid. I may pas on it. louise is a great quilter but sounds like it may cause problems for her.phyl

Hello Crafters - Hope you are doing well today Ginny - I'm sorry you don't get another day off One of my brothers has an implant, so I've heard about it from him. When they pulled my tooth a few months ago, they did the bone grafts at that time. Since you have one you understand the process. I have one bridge already and I could still choose a bridge, but I've heard they are not as strong. I think the implant is probably the best choice, but I'll decide after I meet with the Periodontist. Ruth - Hope everything went well with your blood work today. I only take my cars about every 6 months for an oil change now since I'm driving them so little. I don't even hit 3000 miles on one of them before I get the oil changed sometimes. The car I'm taking next week last had the oil changed in June 2017 and I realized I needed to get it in, even though it's barely over 3000 miles. This is one of the reasons I've resisted getting a new car. I just don't drive enough to justify needing one right now. Phyl - I bet those quilts were beautiful, how nice that the family displayed them at the funeral. Sounds like your class was interesting, hope everything goes well as you work on it. Meg - Hope you are getting some reading and crafting done. The weather here is nice today, sunny and in the 40s (a heat wave ). I went out and did some shopping and treated myself to lunch at Burger King. I like to buy the value size Onion Rings and either a Cheeseburger or Double Cheeseburger. I'd love to get one of their big ole sandwiches, but I can't justify the points on those I did get a Diet Coke and a Diet Lemon Tea too, using those Freestyle machines that I think are so neat. Take care everyone!

Phyl I'm glad you're enjoying the class and hope that all goes well. I'm not a quilter but I do love quilts.I really have no wall space where I could hang one either except in the bedroom downstair but then no one woulld see it.
CJ, It was warm here today too...got up to almost 50 but the wind was like a hurricane here at my house. Now much i town at all so it was really nice there. Just got home from and exhausing day of blood draw and shopping at three stores and luckily we can pull up close to the garage door and carry things in thru the garage.I could hardly walk when I got out of the car the wind was so strong
Cj, I have a BK card that dd gave us about 3 years ago that we haven't used. I want to go there and have a whopper but I won't have the bun. The meat and the sauce will be a lot of calories but that's not why I'm not eating the bun..it's because of the gluten. The large chicken sandwich looks good too so maybe I'll have that but I imagine it's coasted in breadcrumbs. I should just give the card to my dgc and make my own burger and chicken
I'll finish this in a little while

Good evening!
Phyl- sounds like you had a great time at the class- and learned a lot.. Perfect class. Marilyn does sound like she was an amazing quilter- what a wonderful legacy to leave for her family. I bet s he was an inspiration to you.
CJ- silly me, you have done all your homework on the implant! My reason for getting one was the same as yours, the strength of the tooth, being the main reason. In my instance they would have had to make a crown on a perfectly good tooth to make the bridge, that seemed pretty dumb. Thankfully my insurance covers a bit of the implant- and other than the additional care it requires, I am very happy with it. It does take a few weeks to get used to the slightly different feel of an implant- but I am completely over that and my mouth feels very normal now. i am sure you will make the right decision for you. Glad you got out and had a controlled splurge at BK.
Ruth, hope all goes well with your blood draw. Was today the day that Dd was going to have the needle removed from her foot? Prayers that that procedure went successfully and quickly.
Long day for me. Had to clean my bus for inspection and drove a sports trip this afternoon. WHile waiting for the kids on the trip I did get some crocheting in- so all was not lost. I had a little down time.
Hope Meg has been able to sleep well- and can check in and say hello. Good night all G

Ginny, I thought that today was the day she was going to have the needle removed but it's actually on Tuesday.
Well you got that horrible job of cleaning the bus done. It's over for six months or a year?
I haven't done any crocheting today so far but I will and I also looked at more patterns. As if I need more!

Ya think any of us needs more yarn, fabric or patterns? ha ha ha.....but its always fun to look.
Bus cleaning for inspection is a 6 month process. Hopefully I return to an easy afternoon and that my bus has passed. G
