Hello everyone, Where to begin!
Hi Eleanor, I am glad you joined us today. I agree with Martha, Fox is probably your best bet for honest and complete coverage. Sorry you have to work. Has the snow cleared up in your area so that you can get to work. Just think this time next year you wont have to worry about the snow and ice.
Martha, you don't sound very excited or anything The progressives say they are scared of Trump well I have been scared of Obama for the past 8 years and it looks like he will continue to be a trouble maker. He does not like America and I don't understand why people can't see that. The powers that be will have to be diligent watching for plants in our government offices.
Gary, Obama broke so many laws that are already on the books with his pen and his phone and whatever else he used to ram through his what ever he wanted to do. So you are right there should be limits to what a President can do because Obama got away with a lot. For instance there already laws regarding immigration but they have been ignored. If we had enforced the laws we already have we wouldn't be in the fix we are in now.
Hi Lin and Peg, what are you up to today? I will check back later. Keep singing your Happy Song Martha.

Thank you for the welcome,
I just found this group a few weeks ago. I have set up to record tomorrow, if it is icky tomorrow I will be housebound again. If it was next month I wouldn't have to worry either. But I am afraid what more damage BO could do. He has to be stopped ASAP.

I feel like we are coming to the end of the absolute worst period in our country's history except for the depression. And with the GDP growth being the worst ever for this period of time, maybe even worse than that time. I know many out of jobs for more than 2 years. Sorry, but that is not acceptable. Trump was not my first choice but he IS a good businessman and if he has put a BUNCH of good, smart people around him. If he does even half of what he promised, we will be so much better off than we are today.
Planning on getting my house into MLS by Monday. just had the lamanent floors repaired (a few boards needed replacing) in the living/dining area and will have the lamanent floor replaced with carpet in the office/bedroom. We have carpet in the other two bedrooms, so it will be the same carpet as what in in those. I would have had about 6 or 7 boards in there replaced, but only had 3 good spare boards. My original floor guy had a stroke yesterday and open heart surgery this morning. He and his wife are good friends of ours. But I could not call him to see exactly what kind of boards these were or where he got them from. Sooo..the cheapest way to go is to put carpet in there. Oh well. They will do that tomorrow and I will finish cleaning the house by Monday and get it on the market. I have been decluttering and boxing a whole lot of stuff up and it is in the garage. Hopefully the house will sell fairly quickly.

I do have to laugh at the other side. One is so angry, she said just wait. One month after Trump takes office the Conservatives are going to be sorry. Well we will see. I know I was certainly sorry within a month after Obama took office. I really think Trump is going to get the economy moving. Unfortunately the other side just cannot believe they lost and do not want to admit that Obama's policies are what cause them to lose, but it is a fact. Trump actually got a higher percentage of the Black vote even than Romney did. The Black community is slowly slowly beginning to wake and get educated in what is going on. Their communities are the poorest and the Obama's and the Clintons have never ever done anything to help them get out of poverty. I am really hoping Trump will be a President for ALL the people.

I am like Martha - so excited!!!! I am watching part of the celebration right now & there are families & bikers & all races & it is AMERICA AT IT'S BEST. I think this is going to be a good year for America.
I do think Obama is keeping a part of his team in Washington - not sure why but it can't be good. You can tell a lot about Obama's character by the people he pardoned. He must have a deep hatred for our country - why else has he worked so hard to destroy us?

So far the pre-inauguration festivities have been beautiful and inspiring. Friends want to meet for lunch tomorrow but I am choosing to skip that to watch the swearing in ceremony.

I watched that fantastic concert at the Lincoln Memorial and how respectful our new almost President was to everyone. He saluted all the guards and shook hands with people and thanked them. So so much more class than Obama or Hillary. I know for a fact the Secret Service and the Military are so so happy she is not going to be their Commander in Chief. It is so refreshing to see someone who truly loves our country is finally, after 8 long and poor years, going to be sworn in as President. Unfortunately the Dems are being their crybaby selves and are flexing their puny little muscles in approving the new cabinet. They cannot stop these people but they are trying to make them look bad and make Trump look bad. This is their country too, but unfortunately they are too concerned with politics so they will not even try to help make America Great again. I think that is okay because with the way they are acting, they are pretty much assuring Trump a 2 term presidency. You do know that Trump won 5 states that Obama won twice. That is pretty amazing. why do you think that is? I think it is because they were just plain tired of Obama's policies.
I am just loving watching all the festivities.

Martha, I have been thinking like you I feel that I have come out into the sunlight after spending 8 years in a dark hole. I watched some of the festivities today and it was wonderful see so many people out for pre inauguration festivities. DS has been remarking about how Trump honors the troops by standing straight and proud and saluting them. Obama always gave a half hearted salute if he remembered to give one at all.
Gail, I live in California so we will be watching the inauguration in the early morning. So I hope I can go to my Knit Wits Gp. in the afternoon. If you went to lunch with your friends you could probably watch what you miss on Fox. I am sure they will be re playing it all weekend.

An after thought..... we used to say Jimmy Carter was the worst President ever. Well now Obama has taken that title. I am sure Jimmy Carter is a happy man.

Hi again Martha, you mentioned you were selling your house are you moving to another city or staying in the same one? I sold a house a few years ago and they put the sale sign up early in the morning and by lunch time it was sold. However I had a difficult time finding another house as it was a sellers market. I hope all goes well for you and that your realtor treats you well.

Wonderful to see all the excitement going on here today. Welcome Eleanor! Never feel you are intruding here; we welcome all conservatives here and reasonable liberals. The long nightmare is almost over but I'm sure the liberals will do everything in their power to derail Trump's presidency. I will see the inauguration but will miss the afternoon / evening ceremonies due to work, but I'm sure I'll see repeats of the highlights on Fox News.

6 hours or so until America starts to get back on the right track! I read that Trump's slogan for 2020 is "Let's Keep America Great".
I'm a little surprised about no mention of a Hillary pardon. Will be interesting to see what happens going forward. Although I would hate to waste federal time and money on the likes of the Clintons and the ensuing media circus, I'd like to see the veneer pulled away a bit more.
Sore loser Elizabeth Warren....refused the shake hand with Devos (?), education sec'y, after her cabinet hearing. Even Al Franken shook hands and then had some private words with her...didn't look like he was being very nice....wonder what he said.
Unless I can get some free time at work to watch a live stream, I'll have to settle for reruns of the swearing in. Obama's first inauguration speech......I still remember how my blood ran cold. Well he sure did try to "fundamentally transform the United States of America".....thankfully he did not succeed, except to make it a more divided country than ever. Remember when he promised to close Gitmo within his first year in office? That's what helped him get the lib vote.....and he did not come through, and thank goodness for that; even though enough were released that causes me concern.
I've also some friends in places that heaved a sigh of relief when Hildebeast did NOT win. She is apparently not the most pleasant person to protect.
Whooo hoooooo!!!!!

I'm watching the festivities as long as I can before work today.
In the meantime my granddaughter announced she found out the sex of her baby will be a girl. She used something called flipagram which allowed her to reverse the video of a popping pink balloon. It materialized out of nothing. I guess I am old fashioned. We never found out the sex of our babies until they were born, but that was my granddaughter's primary focus.

Just watching the Clintons arrive at the inauguration. Honestly Bill looks a lot better than Hilary. She looks like death warmed over.
