So apparently plain soy yogurt is now zero smart points.
I bought Silk plain so yogurt but when I scanned the bar code it says 5 points per serving. I checked the other soy plain yogurts at the grocery store and none of them appear to be zero points when I look them up.
What brand actually falls into this zero point category? I can't seem to find any.

When you scan something, the nutritional info is used to calculate points. The scanner doesn't know what foods are zero smart points. You can scan eggs and you will also get points. There's no need to scan a food you know is a zero point food.

Hi Becca!
Soy yogurt plain
Cal 113
Sat Fat .4
Sugars 9.1
Pro 4.5
Silk
Cal 105
Sat Fat .4
Sugars 5.3
Pro 6.8
Soy 0 Silk 3SP *scratches head*
In other words, they are going by the nutritional info instead of what the product it so just use the 0 point soy one. It is kind of like when you scan a bag of frozen spinach and it gives you points, just ignore.

Or what thread70 said so succinctly while I was typing all that out 🤣

Thanks! It is confusing because the scanner is inconsistent. When I scan Tofu it shows up as 0 points.

Doesn't Silk soy yogurt have cane sugar added to it? Check the ingredients list. Unless they've changed their ingredients, that's why it has points. I always thought it was odd that the plain had sugar added.

You are right, it is inconsistent because the vast majority of 0 point products that I scan are correct. So if something that I think should be 0 comes up with points I always check the ingredients for secret sugar or added fat of some kind and if it isn't there then I count as 0. I think lavonm is right because I looked at Silk plain yogurt online and the 2nd ingredient is sugar. If that's the case, it would have points.

Ok that is weird then because I literally just copied that off the tracker website, the one that had 0 Points had 9.1 sugar and the silk one had 5.3.
Does anyone know which brand has the zero points because it seems checking sugars really isn’t helpful since the silk one should be lower if that is the case.

DebDoesWW, I don't know which soy yogurt is zero points but I have a feeling this comes down to natural vs added sugars. Regular yogurt has sugar on the label but it's natural vs added.

Got it lavonm I think they are just teasing everyone by posting 0 for soy though without there actually being a brand name one in the tracker that I could see 🤣

There are literally no brands that don't have any sugar (natural or otherwise). I live in CA and have access to various health food stores and I can't find a single brand or variation that does not have sugar added.

I think lavonm probably nailed the reason.

Right but why bother listing soy yogurt, plain 0 if there isn’t one available?

Right but why bother listing soy yogurt, plain 0 if there isn’t one available? Plan marketing? LOL. Y'know, they were up to 199 zero-point foods and needed to get to 200!
