TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.

C76D8, 8 water, 17 points + isolated luncheon, all GHG’s, 2500 fitbit steps, G4 Y2 R1 January
It was a good, yellow day. For the luncheon I did succumb to onion soup with cheese and a roll and butter instead of the salad since I have one almost every night at home. The meal came with 2 slices of meatloaf, I had only one slice with very little gravy, about ¼ of the mashed potatoes and some broccoli. I cut the cheesecake in half bringing the other half home to DH along with the extra slice of meatloaf, some potatoes and broccoli. He enjoyed it. Rather IE-ish, I’d say.
Edesia – I cook just about everything with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. What else should I be considering? But keep in mind please, that DH has a bad stomach so nothing spicy.
Kathy – Travel safe and stay strong. I’m counting on you to keep those OP days going. If you can do it travelling, then I can do it in Columbus.
Jan – The tape holds up – It’s funny how much I remembered the routines. I think it’s a good workout even this many years later. I was thinking those girls are probably in their 60’s by now <g>.
Beth – Congrats for counting all those points. I plan to do the same thing when home but when in Columbus I’ll write down every morsel but without points.
Cindy – The good news is that you decided not to stay away. You’ve got five days to eliminate those five pounds and then to continue your downward spiral next week. Stay focused GF – these things will happen. It’s what we do afterwards that really counts.
Lori – Are you still on the beam? Your posts have been personals but nothing about you. Am I properly assuming that all is well?

Morning, BFF's! Another healthy eating day. At DH's work, his co-workers brought in a ton of food for his birthday, including a cake. He couldn't eat any of it. He called me to see if I wanted to come over or have him bring anything home and I asked him not to. Time to get moving...
Nancy - Yes, very IE-ish at the luncheon AND nothing unreasonable about it! As for the spices, I would not even know where to begin. I have a cabinet full. It all depends on the type of food and ethnic variety. The one other seasoning I do use pretty regularly is oregano. I prefer the Dominican kind. I also like fresh herbs, but you might want to consider some of the dried varieties, like thyme or rosemary.
Cindy - It just sounds like you had a big, delicious meal. I would think of it as "special", not "bad", and just keep doing what you were doing before. I agree that it's unlikely you actually gained 5 lbs and am sure that will be gone in a day or so.

Nancy...sounds like a very reasonable eating situation...good on you!
I tracked everything yesterday so that makes 1 complete week. I feel good about that!
On to the next week!
Nothing planned after work today. Will go home and finish cleaning up the driveway and maybe do a yoga tape. Thinking of possible working on some closet organizing or relaxing with a movie on tv. Trying hard to get my mindset AWAY from "relaxing" = "eating".

Went to visit Dsis yesterday, bummer. Enough said.(THis will be
my biggest challenge & not sure how to handle it yet, but will)
Today's the day. Got my focus back. That's how I lost
so much weight last time, had to have a 100% focus on what was doing
and just doing it each and very day. Could not let ANYTHING distract
me. So very glad I have you all! Going to run into town and get a
couple of inserts for 2 pair of shoes that I have.
Nancy, one of my DH's favorite meals is meatloaf. There was a
little town east of here that the telephone men would always
stop & eat that had the best meatloaf, but they wouldn't give
out their receipe.

Hi BFFs,
I'm doing well with eating and exercise but just not myself. January 9th, there was a tragic ski accident that resulted in the death of one of our students. She was only 15 from Singapore. I just have a deep sadness for her family...just so unthinkable...the campus is just not the same. Counting my blessings...
