Hi!
The snow storm was not too bad. Very slushy snow and today most of it is gone already.
Lisa, I'll be 54 this summer. I'm 5 ft and at 128 right now, too high for me. I got down to 120 right before vacation in Jan but have gained it back.
Joan, great that you have found someone to treat your issues! Sounds like he really knows what he's doing. Thanks for the info on wireless
Today I'm going to the flower show and then SO and I are meeting couple friends for an early dinner. They are going to an afternoon concert and we'll meet them after the concert. I'll go straight from the flower show.
Guess we'll just stay on Feb thread this month!

Joan- wonderful that you hAve found a Therapist to help you. Let is know how it all goes. My knee is so turned inward that I really look knockkneed. I hate it. I wear the knee brace a lot now.
Lisa- yes I noticed the Feb thread too! I can't remember how to start the new thread. I am doing this tonight on my phone; so not the best conditions for checking it out.
Sue- glad to hear the snow wasn't bad. Thought about you.
Holly- how is the scarf coming? I had some cotton/linen in grey that I needed to use; so started a summer top (crocheting)
Had the chemical treadmill Thurs. And the Echocardiogram FRI. Won't go back until next Thurs. for those results. Not expecting he'll find anything

Hi all,
I started to create a March thread, but thought maybe we should just have one ongoing thread since we don’t post that many pages each month. What do you think?
Not much happening here. I really need to get back on the exercise bandwagon.
I finished the scarf, and am about finished with a dishcloth. I am going to make a few to sell in a store that sells stuff by local artists.

Maybe start anew in April? Seems silly now with only half the month left.
Holly, I am so misssing my time at my gym classes—but I am doing the two things he told me to do—can see a tremendous change in my hip flexors—with my knees in a diamond pattern my knees drop almost to the floor now—about one finger width away—on Wednesday they dropped only about five finger widths away from the floor. He said this right hip was turned in way more—it has changed a lot. I only had one time yesterday with a bit of back issue—used my tens unit and did the exercises and it disappeared. I go today in about an hour. My watch keeps telling me I am not meeting my goal—-after several weeks of exceeding it!
I watched Me Before You last night—what a beautiful movie! Cried though and then could not quit thinking about the movie after going to bed so at 12:30 I was still awake—-slept till 7:30 which is really 6:30—ugh, hate the time change—wish we stayed on DST all year.
Lisa, does fruit have to be counted now again? Curious about apples, oranges and pears.
The Montana friends that ate with us Sat night were really fun—-his girl friend is 69 and never married or had kids—was a teacher—we had so much in common—hit it off right away. She is doing WW for the first time and was pleased because I had steak and salmon for dinner and salmon is no points. She and her sister and some others are going to China in October—I am trying to talk DH into joining them—it is a ten day tour. I feel as if Iwill never get to go if I don’t do this as DH has no courage in traveling by ourselves—even if we join a tour—unless he’s been there and has a sense of things.
Sue, have you read The Tea Girl from Hummingbird Lane? It is our next book and everyone is raving about it. About the part of China where the Pu-erh tea is grown. Have you had it before? My gym teacher gave me some==am having a cup this morning as a launch for the start of reading the book—LOL. I ordered some to give out at book club next month.
JoAnne, is your chest still hurting from the ribs? Please let us know as soon as you hear about your tests. I really hope all is okay. Is your iron still low?
The finches are back so DH started putting out the feeder again—Sidney is happy!
It rained all day here and night on Saturday!

Hi!
It's supposed to snow again tomorrow morning, it won't be too bad, couple inches at most.
Jojo, you'll be glad when all this testing is done!
Holly, maybe when the weather is nicer you'll feel more like exercising.
Joan, I have not read that book. I love pureh tea. Hey, mid Oct is the start of our next cruise. So what cities in China - Shanghai is nicer than Beijing.
Flower show was very nice, enjoyed myself. My friend couldn't come so I went by myself. Dinner was fun with our friends. The restaurant we went to is a re-creation of a restaurant in Aquila, Italy. There was an earthquake there years ago and the owner decided to rebuild it here and they brought over everthing from Italy. Most of the wait staff are Italians, the whole place has a very authentic feel. We'd been there before for drinks but never for a meal.

DGD17 was accepted into the BFA program at Point Park in Pittsburg—I don’t know anything about it but it was a school she said was very good for BFA programs. Still waiting on Fordham and NYU. But at least her self esteem is up—-was starting to worry that no acceptance3s would be absolutely devasatating to her.
Sue, I am going to read through the literature today about the China trip—we meet them tonight to have dinner at the Belagio and then go to Cirque du Soleil “O” which is the water one. Have never seen it but have heard it is great. Just had a cup of black bean soup I made yesterday since we will do pretty early dinner—
I did my home exercises and then went to the gym for the Sit and Fit class with weights—have to do mine standing up from now on—I think it was better that way. Felt a little awkward at first but no one seemed to care.
I am trying to finish the second season of The Crown—I love that show.
Sounds as tho it would be a good Italian restaurant, Sue.
So the flower show has to be all greenhouse growth?
Booked flights for DGD and I to NYC for July 2 today. I will stay six days and then she and her friend are on their own for the second week.
Had DD and DGS13 to dinner for bean soup and fajitas last night—tasted so good—have not made fajitas in a long time! It was so nice out we ate on the patio—love that.
DH got my tomato pots all set up and filled today so will buy tomatoes in the morning and lay them out for planting in 3 days—we bought three more large pots so that I could place them in better advantage for sun. They do well in pots here as long as they are big enough.

Checked on the itinerary for the trip, Sue and they go to Peking and Shanghai—and our friend is now thinking if we go he would perhaps go—only his girl friend and her family have signed up so far—it is a group organized by a chamber of congress group in Montana—DH seems to be getting the bug to go!
O was so good last night—all the Cirque shows are just so amazingly well done! I love the artistry of the sets and the music which is just the frosting on the cake! Still, it’s like taking the best circus acts ever and dropping them into a work of art! It was fun seeing everyone again—the children of my friend are in their late thirties, early forties—I knew their mom since about age 8—she was my Alzheimer’s friend. Her son Kirk married an extreme skier—she was considered the best extreme skier in the world for years—has broken nearly every bone in her body at one time or another and still is doing extreme skiing—but also now works with sporting people on overcoming fear and other emotional blocks to success—she goes all over the world. She left for Alaska for two weeks of helicopter skiing today—two weeks later she will be in Switzerland doing the same. Was fun chatting with her—first time I’ve seen her since I first met her about 10 years ago.
I ate quite a bit at the buffet—but mostly veggies and a bit of crab and a few shrimp and a taste of awesome cold poached salmon. Did have a creme brûlée afterwards and a bit of yogurt—but walked about 11,000 steps yesterday, did my weights class and my home exercises so did not gain and actually dropped about 1/2 pound—I was up tho so I need to get about 4 more pounds down fast!
Tanzi got out yesterday—somehow the wind blew open our master bedroom door to the patio—and DH did not know about it—OMG we hunted the neighborhood for her for over and hour (hence the steps) and finally got hold of a neighbor a few houses up and while he was telling DH “No, we don’t have a cat in our back yard”, she showed up in their yard. So we went over—I took a bit of tuna which she loves but didn’t even need it as she was so scared that the minute I stepped in their yard she ran to me crying so loud! She was so affectionate last night—I think she really got scared—and it was very windy out so I think that scared her even more. All’s well that ends well but we were really panicking for a while there.

Hi!
Not much going on here, volunteered on Tues, did some new tasks that I hadn't done before. Usual gym, food prep, household stuff. Helped SO with resealing our stone counters.
Joan, great that DGD got accepted! I'm also watching the second season of Crown. They really had to make up a lot of the dialogue.
Looks like you're going to China!
How are Tanzi and Sidney getting along these days?
The flower show I think is the largest in the country, it is really amazing all the displays, and it is all indoors, held in the convention center.

Went to the cardiologist yesterday. Treadmill and echo were normal - what I thought. I will have a chest CT Next week. No real change in the chest pain or the shortness of breath. This will tell them if I have had a pulmonary embolus, any other lung problems , or bone problems. If nothing here then back to the GI guy. I do follow up visit with hematologist next week.
Joan- scary about almost loosing your cat. What relief you found it!
I will take all my tax stuff to accountant tomorrow. Glad to have that over.
Wt creeping up with no exercise since sick. Ugh! Find myself snacking a lot on crackers lately - bad habit.
Watching a lot of Perry Mason and Lone Ranger!

JoAnne, I’m so sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad—I hope you find some answers soon! Feels scary when we feel so totally different and no one seems to have the answer as to why.
I did do my weights class today and again, it was so nice to be at the gym and see everyone again. Hoping he lets me do the rest of my classes next week.
Today we went and bought tomatoes—about 7 this year—but it feels sort of chilly tonight so think I will keep them inside tonight.
Tanzi has been super affectionate since being lost outside for over an hour—Sidney is learning to love being outside with DH or with me or both of us—he is so good—does not even care to try to jump the fence—actually I’m not sure he could as he cannot jump like Tanzi. And when we come in, he comes in—he is such a good cat if only he would not chase Tanzi.
DGD17 did not get in to BFA at Fordham—only have to hear from NYU now—-I bought she and her dad a ticket to visit Pittsburg and see Point Park and meet with them about the program—she has to make a decision before May 1. tomorrow she goes to Dominican in CA to learn about the program they would be offering her.
Made halibut tacos and salad for dinner tonight. I made a slaw that has lime/cumin dressing—that and a bit of guacamole on the tacos makes them so good!
Sue I started the Tea Girl from Hummingbird Lane—it is so engaging right from the first page! Holly I think you would like it too!

Hello,
Joan, my BMI is 22.3. Im pretty close to where I want to be. I want to be at around 21-22 Bmi. I was at 23.4 BMI in early January. Uncomfortable for me. We each have our own comfort zones. I think anything between 18.5 and 25 is, in itself considered fine. I'd have to go below 101 to go below 18.5. I am not aiming for anything close. I dont have big muscles. I go to a great osteopath about once a month. a good one of those types of health care people is worth a lot. No fruit is not counted in the present ww.
Sue, my goal is 115-119. Im 5' 2.5". I was around 128 around Christmas and thats uncomfortable for me.
Jojo Im so sorry about your knee and chest pain. Lone Ranger! ?
Holly, knitting sounds relaxing.
I didn't track at all this week, nor get much exercise, but lost a bit. I was running around a lot. Lots of meetings. Im so tired.
I'm 2.2 pounds above my upper maintenance range.

Finished The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane—what a great read that was! I have been drinking my Pur-ehr tea since starting it!
Went to the rehab doc again today—two more exercises to do—still cannot go to my other classes—he said wait and see how I come back from DC first—have to continue to do all in DC as well—he said particularly important to get up and do before walking.
DH and I went and got pics taken and mailed in our passport renewal applications. It really is not cheap for passports!
Went with DH to the ophthalmologist surgeon—he said he has to give him a botox injection before he can see how much has to be done with the drooping eyelid—apparently he has blepharospasm—caused by always squinting with that eye that does not follow right—it causes the eyelid to close—so he said that has to be relaxed in order to know how much to fix the actual droopy lid. Also he wants him to have the really hard surgery to realign his eyes—he is struggling reading with the eye set for reading because the eye does not track right-never has. He thought he could avoid the surgery as it supposed to be rough after ward but this dr. Said it’s totally necessary if he wants to read. This doctor taught at UCLA and the doctor Chin who does that surgery was a student of his—he said she’s fabulous. Poor DH , it’s looking as if the whole year will be about his eyes this year!
I made some salted peanut butter cookies for the new neighbors—a couple guys—partners—about 65 or so—they are very nice—they moved here from CA—sold a house in Newport Beach and bought this house for cash. So happy, they let us take the tree out in their back yard that totally shades my veggie garden in the mornings meaning that I just don’t get enough hours of sun in a day.
Ugh, I ate three cookies—they are so darn good.
I renewed our broadway season tickets yesterday—still need to buy tickets to go see Trevor Noah who is coming to Vegas in late June.

Hi!
Snowing here and it's going to get worse. Expecting 8-12 inches tomorrow. Right now it's very wet snow and not sticking, but when it gets colder tonight, it will freeze.
Volunteered this morning. We were going to go out to dinner with neighbor friends, 2 other couples but with the slippery conditions, even though the restaurant is 2 blocks away, we decided to cancel the reservation. Instead, they're coming over for some drinks.
Jojo, glad the tests went well, but I really hope you can figure out what is causing the pain and shortness of breath
Lisa, my goal used to be 110 but I don't think that's likely any more. It really does get more difficult with age.
Joan, glad that you like your new neighbors. I also ate some sweets the last couple of nights and I don't even have a sweet tooth, ugh!
Our visas for going to Brazil was very expensive because we had to take the train to NYC in addition to paying for the visas, plus the yellow fever vaccines and consultation with the infectious disease expert all added up.
