Hi, I used to read the WW boards. So glad I found you. I'm enjoying the all the camaraderie and support.
A little about me... I was a WW member. I joined in 2011 and lost almost 25 lbs, but then life got in the way. Two surgeries for me and one surgery for my DH. I cancelled my membership after employer was no longer subsidizing the cost as of December 2016. I was not losing for about the last 6 months, so I didn't feel that it was working for me any longer. I had put back on 15 of what I had lost. :-(
So now I'm relying on what I've learned in WW and what I'm now learning with the Beck Book review. I really like Beck's approach, it makes so much sense. I posted earlier as a guest, bwas wwmbr on the BBR thread. I'm so glad I was able to join your boards. I was in need of some inspiration.

I just re-joined WW today and was so disappointed that they got rid of the message boards for a facebook news feed type of thing so I am glad I found this site! I really loved the message boards because I only do the online version so it used to be my support group. I even sent them a message that I probably won't renew after my initial three months because I was so disappointed with what they have done with the website in general.
But anyway, I decided to join WW again because I have gained so much weight lately and I need to get a handle on this before I am too far gone. I currently weigh 216.5 and I want to get down to 150. I was 230 last July and losing the 13.5 lbs was fairly easy but then it just stalled and I have been at my current weight ever since. I figured WW would be good for me because I cycle in and out of depression and am currently in an "in" cycle and part of my depression means I have a bit of OCD with things I can control so having to track my food and points will go well with it. Figured I might as well get something out of this cycle of depression besides sleepless nights and tears haha.
Anyway, thanks for letting me join and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi hnybny91 !! Glad you found us, we all missed the boards too Tons of support here, make sure to check out all our different boards so you find a good fit. We based them off the old boards so everyone would feel at home. Also check out the Checking In daily thread on the general board too. It is for everyone to get to know each other before they head off to their home boards, so stop by and say hi when you get a chance! *Wanted to add, the OnPlan board has a great daily menu thread to help with accountability

Hi: I started WW for the first time about six weeks ago. I've lost 12 pounds. Fifty more to go. (I'm at 208 and want to go back to 158, which I haven't seen since the 1990s. Heh.) The reason I searched out and found this forum, despite being a total Weight Watchers beginner and ignoramus, is because it appears that the WW official "Connect" really only works if you use a smartphone —?! huh?! — and I don't use a smartphone. (That's, you know, a "lifestyle choice," because I use my laptop all day at work and don't like to have the internet in my pocket all day, as well.) I'm a writer and editor. Probably a fairly typical story for someone who's landed here in a Weight Watchers forum: I'm mid-divorce (the whole nine yards involved emotionally abusive husband who was cheating and gaslighting etc blah blah), and I've been a single mom to my two young kids for the last year and a half; I also lost my longterm job in October, after about 18 years, due to the ongoing radical downsizing in the print-publishing-industry; and I'm turning 50 this year. Typical stuff that leads people to neglect themselves. (Aka: I have had a hell of time the last two or three years, and despite not being the sort of person to join stuff or seek support, I need some freaking support! ;-) ) Anyway, I have finally taken charge of my own health and well-being, and am glad to be headed in the right direction. Hello to y'all!

Welcome bonacker congratulations on losing 12 pounds, WTG! I am truly sorry you are going through such rough times, as you know there is a light at the other end, hang in there. Ask away. We can help with any questions, and you will get the correct answer, unlike if you use the 24/7 chat, ha! Our On Plan board has a great menu check in thread for accountablity, and the Simply Filling board has people who specialize with that method. We have tons of support group spread throughout the site, just jump on in where you feel comfortable. We are all about freaking support here 🤣 Glad you found us!

Hi Bonacker! Congrats on the 12 pounds! That is a fabulous start to your journey! I too had very much the same story but I was edged out of a 30 year career due to ageism. Yeah, I know, try and prove that one. After a year of unread resumes, glazed-over eyes during interviews, non-returned phone calls, I had enough of my own sugar filled pity party and put myself back on track. I rejoined WW's after a 30 pound gain after having kept my weight steady for 30+ years. Within a year, I was back at goal, working, although not in the career I had and earning only a fraction of what I was making. But you know what? As I headed out to the gym this morning, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I smiled. Not bad, I thought! Life can and will be good again.

Hi, everyone! I'm so glad you were able to set up an alternative now that WW took away the boards. I've missed them! I'm doing online only these days so this seems like a perfect spot to read about WW (the plan, foods, etc.).
