Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today We've had some mild weather for a few days, but some rain too. Supposed to get some wet snow tomorrow afternoon and evening. It's been so mild that I'm sure the snow will melt when it hits the roads. So it's nice to have some snow without having to shovel. I went over to the office where I used to work today. There are still several friends that I have working there so I try to visit them a few times a year. I was there about 4 hours and it was nice to sit and talk to them. They mostly need to "vent" about the problems in the office, and I'm glad to listen since I know what they are going through. They also still ask me questions about work and it's nice to use my mind again to solve some problems. Take care everyone!

CJ, what fun to go to the office where you used to work and visit with the friends that still work there. Chatting about old times is really enjoyable. I hope you don't get too much snow and that it does melt right away esp on the streets and sidewalks. It's fairly warm here today but wind is strong again with almost continual gusts.
I didn't get much crafting at all done yesterday. I ended up doing some other things which took more time that I thought they would. So plans were changed. Maybe today will be the day I finishe the Bible cover. I did finish my own fingerless gloves. I made them long at the top so that they cover almost all of my finger but the tips of my fingers are still uncovered so that I can type, and crochet. Dh wanted to know if I'd be able to crochet with them on. He insisted that I put on a pair of those stretchy gloves yesterday because my fingers were looking bad.RAynauds makes your fingers and toes and even the tip of your nose look much worse than it really is because it very rarely causes actual damage.
So I do hope you all have a great weekend and get to do the things you like to do.
We never did get to WAlmart so next week we'll go there and maybe a couple of the grocery stores.I do want to get dgd's little gifts so that I can get the package done since we have to go to a different part of town now to mail things . I want to have everything that needs mailed all ready so we can make just one trip.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are having a nice Saturday Ruth - we are just getting some snow showers now but it's already turning over to rain. It's been so warm here that it is melting as soon as it hits the ground. Hope you are able to get some crafting done today. Hope you can make it out today too. Ginny, Meg and Phyl - Hope you get some crafting in this weekend. I went to JoAnn Fabrics today to buy some thread for machine piecing since I was running low. I like to buy the Coats and Clark thread, it's always worked well in my machine. I made a pizza today using the two ingredient dough recipe and it turned out pretty well. What a quick way to put a pizza together. I definitely want to use this dough to make some of the bagels again and also try some other rolls. Take care everyone!

I still haven't tried that recipe but dh loves pizza so I can see myself using it for pizza crust.I thank you again for posting that. I'm glad the snow you're getting is melting fast. Dh and I never go out on weekends so it will be next week when we get out. Monday, being a holiday, will probably not be the day we go. Now that we're retired there's no need for us to be out on weekends when the stores will be busier.Dh and I hate crowds. People here are so friendly that when they see someone they know they immediately stop and talk and many times block isles. The don't mean to inconvience others but they do without thinking. So we steer clear of the busy days.
Still haven't got to crafting. I was doing my Bible study then cleaning the kitchen some so maybe in a few I'll start working on a project. Maybe get that Bible cover done and out of mind but I may do dgd's other fingerless glove first.
Meg, Ginny, and Phyl. I hope you are all having a good day and weekend also

Now seriously, who would ever wear those shoes!!! They are awful and I can see why someone would need a doctor after wearing them.
CJ- glad you got to see some time with your former coworkers. Bet it was nice to see them....but also nice to leave too!!
Ruth - what a blesssing that you spent time in Gods word.... there is somehow time for crafting after that.
2 long days....yesterday Dd was sick and I had to help with the grandkids. Today my dear friends husband was admitted to the hospital with a fib. Looks like everyone is going to be ok- both Dd and my friends husband. See ya tomorrow G

Ginny, I'll be praying for both of the people who are ill..your dd and your friend's dh. I'm glad they're already recovering.
I did do some crafting but not the Bible cover. I may get to some of it this evening.
Have a good night all.

Blessed Sunday!
So sorry I was such a burn out last night- I wanted to check in but was very tired, and for good reason. Dd is improving and just tired and weak. It stinks getting a stomach bug while pregnant. Looks like my friends Dh will be in the hospital as they get his heart back to beating normally (if possible). They are already switching his meds - reducing some- so I am under the impression that he is doing better.
Ruth, the Bible cover has been a real labor of love involving some design changes and pattern changes. I do not blame you for taking a break from it. Many thanks for your prayers....they are appreciated.
CJ- is the 2 ingredient dough pizza dough also made from Greek yogurt? I love the bagels- but admit that the “sour” taste of the Greek yogurt is a bit strong for me. No one else in my house seems to mind....think I will look for another Greek yogurt, perhaps another brand tastes better to me. How lovely that it worked out for you- do you happen to know the points value for a slice of pizza with that?
Hi to Meg and Phyl- who I hope are enjoying their weekend. G

Good morning all. It's supposed to snow today but hasn't started yet but it is cold and overcast. No sun at all . I don't know if we'll go out tomorrow or wait till Tuesday when the kids are back in school. Seems like whenever we go to Walmart there are kids though and I always wonder why they're not in school I did work on fingerless gloves last night then just stopped and watched some tv programs that I recorded...all those ER type shows...just can't get away from nursing Ginny, you don't have to apologize for being tired. You do so much it's no wonder that you're tired. Will you be caring for the grandchildren again today? I do hope your dd is feeling better. Yes it does stink to be sick while pregnant. She doesn't have long to wait till the baby is here but then starts the real tiredness being up every couple hours. I imagine she'll be looking to you for some respite from having all three children to take care of so that she can get in some naps. I do hope too that they get your friend's husband's meds so that his heart is functioning well. Having a heart problem is a deep concern. I have several friends who's husbands have afib.At times I think my dh has it too but they haven't done an EKG in a few years so another thing to add to the "ask doctor" list although he will be having scopes and now they always do an EKG before a scope. Well I guess I'll go and decide what to work on for today. I figure maybe two weeks until I have to mail the package with dgd's and ddil's presents but I don't want to wait till the last minute to complete everything. Have a great day everyone

Hello Crafters Ginny - I use the Fage 0% greek nonfat yogurt and I don't notice any sour taste - but I have to say that I eat a greek-type yogurt almost every day so I might just be used to the taste. Since I'm using the old points system, I can't really figure out the Smart Points. I did check a calculator for the smart points for 1/4 cup of the self-rising flour and it's 3 points. I used 3/4 cup yesterday and it made a nice medium size pizza, so that would be 9 points before your pizza sauce and cheese. I would bet you could get a slice for 3 points or so, depending on your toppings. I hope you DD is feeling better soon. And I also wish the best for your friend's DH. Did you get a lot of snow? Ruth - Glad you were able to get some crafting in. Those shoes are crazy!!! I have trouble wearing a shoe with any heel and only buy pumps if I need something with a heel. Otherwise all my shoes are flats. I was checking recipes on the Internet and many people use the two ingredient dough to make breadsticks, drop biscuits, cinnamon rolls, etc. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are both getting in some crafting. We didn't get too much snow and it's sunny and in the 50s today so it's all melted. It was nice to watch it coming down though. Take care everyone!

Good afternoon!
CJ- your snow sounds a lot like mine- but I probably got more than you did. ITs so pretty though....thanks for the heads up on the 2 ingredient dough and all the different ways it can be used. You know, maybe I should just stick with the points system that I have all the literature for, it would be much easier- that is what you are doing! And I appreciate the info on the Fage- yes I will give that a try.
Ruth, Dh and I went out for lunch- enroute I went into Joanns to get more rotary blades, and picked up a project sheet for the month of March. There are patterns for cup cozies- those things you put on a hot beverage to keep from burning your hands- and I checked Red Hearts web page- they have directions for several. I know you are always looking for nice gift ideas, and when I saw them I though immediately of you.
My friends husband is going to go thru some tests- they are going to go look clots in his heart, and do another scope to check heart function. Other thoughts are to shock his heart, or to “burn” the area that is not working right. I am sure this makes more sense to Ruth than me.
Have a great day- hope to be back later G

CJ, it has started snowing her now and it's coming down very thick. It's not like a blizzard though with high winds and all...there is no wind in fact. So it does look pretty and covers all the dead vegetation and the old snow. And the sun is out now too so it's looking better even if the snow is thick. Ginny, I"ve thought of cup cozies but the problem is, how do I know what kind of cups they have. I know I have cups in many sizes and shapes. If I remember correctly and if they still have the same cups, theirs are a kind of bigger and rounded cup...my ds and ddil that is. Maybe I should buy a cup when I go to walmart, make a cozy for it and send the whole thing for a cup for ddil to use. Then later I could make one for my ds and send that one on his birthday...great idea now that I think of it...thank you Ginny!! Oh and I think I'll buy a cup and make a cozy for it for dd too.She never has cups. For some reason her kids are always breaking all the cups. I haven't made that recipe yet but when I get plain Greek Yogurt I get Fage.I have some now so should get busy and make at least the bagels. Ginny, the electrical shock they give is similar to the shock they give when someone's heart is not beating or they have ventricular fibrillation but uses a less intense jolt of electricity. For afib they call it cardioversion (rather than defibriallation )as it actually stops the heart for a second and converts it to a regular beat rather than the fibrillation, The "burning" is ablation. One of the ladies on a thread I was on on the old WW board husband had that done. But I know many, many people that had the cardioversion. Using meds is also called cardioversion but is usually much slower. They do sedate you before doing the cardioversion. They also use ablation for a number of other heart beat problems that are due to a problem in the electrical system of the heart. A friend has supraventricular tachycardia and is considering having ablation done. My dd has Wolf Parkinson White syndrom and ablation is used for that too if it becomes serious. Cardiology was never my strong area so I just know the basics and again, advances are made all the time so even my basics are outdated but I know where to look

Ruth, thanks so much for the info on the world of cardiology. I was aware that he would be sedated for any of the electric jolts- and am sure he is getting the best of care. Its a pretty new hospital and has to keep up with the Mecca for good hospital care in NYC. Many folks when faced with major medical issues still go to the city. This new hospital is rapidly expanding and is known for excellent care. Gee, am I glad I mentioned those cup cozies!!!!You turned that into a wonderful idea- you can pick out the mug and a lovely color yarn to go with it. Its a great idea that YOU came up with! Check red heart.com they had a few adorable patterns, both crochet and knit.
Got a nice walk in. Its cold here- 35 but, clear. Felt good to get some fresh air. G

Oh, as far as the cup cozies go the pattern Joanns showed was for a commuter cup- which tend to be pretty standard in size. G

OH ok, I don't know what my ddil uses now but she never took coffee with her. She would always stop and get one of the large soft drinks from a convenience store...one of those in the waxy cups. At home they have coffee at least in the morning. Of course since she, at least for awhile, has been leaning toward more healthy way of eating I'm not sure she drinks pop anymore so I won't make a cozy for that...they have those too. So anyway, long way of saying that I don't think they use commuter cups. And it was your idea, I just expanded on it.
It's way colder than that here. Earlier it was either 9 or 13 depending on which channel you looked at. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be only 1 and the low will be -15. All week it looks like it will be below zero during the night. But that's better than having below zero as the high for the day I guess.
