Yes another week already. I'm already dreading having to go out tomorrow. My driveway is clear so I have no excuse.
Ginny, i hope the dinner with your dd and her bf went well and that all of you enjoyed visiting together.
I made two things yesterday. One was a bath pouf made with a different pattern although a pattern really isn't necessary. This one turned out more full even though I didn't even make the last row around so these are the directions I will use in making them in the future. I also made a dishcloth to go with the potholder I'm sending to my ddil and today will start a potholder to work on while waiting at the doctor's office. I'm not good at waiting at all. I will also start on another item for ddil but haven't decided on what that will be yet. I still have to get the cups when I'm out shopping on probably Thursday to use with the cup cozies.
I've started another list so that I'll stay on track with my crochet plans. Still have to make the fingerless gloves I promised my ds' oldest dd and then do a remake of the sweater I made for her sister that was too large. I also have some things on my list for the guys... I have all kinds of things to make for the girls and hate to send only for them and leave the "guys" out. One of them is a window scraper that you crochet kind of a glove around so that their hand stays warm while they're scraping or brushing off the car windows. And there's always key chains or fobs..
Ok I'm just blabbing here. Going to go look at my list to decide on that ddil next item.
Have a great day all and a very great and blessed week.
Meg, how did the urine test turn out..are you ok?

Hello Crafters Ginny - I hope your DGD will be O.K., this flu season has been so scary. I remember Scott Hamilton doing that backflip! Ruth - Hope you have a safe trip out tomorrow and that your driveway and the roads will stay clear. Sounds like you have lots of projects to work on. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are both getting in some crafting and doing well. I made some of the Two Ingredient Dough Bagels today and they are good. I was able to get 3 bagels out of 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of the greek non-fat yogurt (I use Fage). I left one bagel plain, the second one I added 1 TB of shredded cheddar cheese to the dough, the third one I added cinnamon and a few tsps of raisins to it. They were all great. I heated up the cheese one in the microwave for just about 10 second and that tasted good. I'll be splitting the plain one in half and toasting it, that's how I tried it the last time and enjoyed it. I'll put a little Country Crock and some jam on it. I've seen a few other ideas for this dough - like Garlic Cheese Sticks, Calzones and Cheese Balls (using Laughing Cow cheese). I'm going to try some of these soon. It's nice to do some baking and have a low calorie treat. Take care everyone!

CJ, those bagels do indeed sound delicious! I got a whole bunch of plain Fage yogurt the other day when shopping so I need to get busy and ake some of those and other things. Dh loves calzones so I think I'll use the recipe and make some of those for him Ginny, I've found another pattern for fingerless gloves that are somewhat simiar to the chunky ones you posted the link for. These look SO nice and they're so easy. Here's the link rescuedpawdesigns.com/2015/09/10/andy-crochet-hand-warmers-pattern/She has such nice patterns on her site.

Hello everyone,
Hello everyone.
I wasn't on the computer at all yesterday between Devin and then SD and later DGD so I just spent the evening. Earlier in the day I did my big grocery shopping and I was tired after that. My cupboards were getting very bare so at least I wont need to go to the store for awhile. I have been able to get some knitting done. I watched Victoria last evening.
Ginny, thanks for getting us on the boars for another week. I have been watching some of the news about Billy Graham on TV. I was able to go to one of his crusades a few years ago in Sacramento. There were thousands of people there. What I remember most was the mass of people leaving. Thousands of people moving along. It was like a sea of people moving along very peacefully no pushing or yelling that you would find at any other event. Of course we all enjoyed hearing Billy Graham speak.
Ruth, I hope you can get out of your driveway. When I lived in Iowa I used to shovel snow and I was much younger so didn't mind because I was able to get some exercise. Today I just wouldn't be able to do it. I am taking an antibiotic at the moment. I have been taking cranberry capsules for quite awhile but I am now drinking cranberry juice which I think helps. I am also taking other stuff to prevent these UTIs.
cj, I am glad you are enjoying your low cal. treats.

Long day and I am tired.....will be short
Ruth hope you can get out tomorrow-gee< I have never heard of the crochet ice scraper, but it sure sounds like a good idea!!
CJ- thank you .....over the weekend I bought some Fage yogurt- and I took a small taste of it. Much Much better than what I was buying and I ought to be able to really enjoy those 2 ingredient bagels made with it. I appreciate the other ideas for this dough....will have to give them a try. And wasn’t that back flip something?! I showed a YouTube of it to my Dd-she was very impressed.
Meg so sorry that you do have a UTI- but it sounds like you are doing everything you can for it at the moment. (I used to drink cranberry juice every night before bed time to prevent them). Hope you feel better!! Glad you got your shopping in!! Last night I also watched Victoria- I am behind a few weeks. I do enjoy that program.
Got all the ironing done on the placemats, now just have to figure out which top stitch I want to use and get that accomplished and they are done. I think they came out well and am happy with them.
Have a blessed night all G

Meg, with just one computer in the house and three others that want to use it, it must be a challenge to get some computer time. It sounds like the doctors are taking good care of you.We sure don't want a repeat of what happened when you ended up in ICU. Yes doing big shopping is exhausting. At least though, you are stocked up again now. I hope you have a quiet evening and can just sit and relax either knitting, reading or both (audio of course if both) Yes it does look as though we will get out of the driveway with no problem. Good to get this over with I think. We'll have to go back in about three months I'm sure as the doctor will want to keep a check on dh's blood results and at that time we'll have her schedule all his needed tests. No sense scheduling now then have to cancel because of bad weather. Well I was looking thru patterns again after I posted earlier...well I'm sure you guessed that because I posted the link to those fingerless gloves...anyway I saw a nice bag that's like a tote bag but it has a strap with a button so you can use it in your car and put that strap around the llittle posts that hold the headrests. It can be used for many things even as a litter bag if you line it with a plastic bag. With all the children and all their stuff and emergency supplies everyone keeps in their cars, I'm sure that ddil can use this. It also has a little tissue holder crocheted on the front. So I started that. At some point I'm going to make two more in "man" colors for ds and dgs for their vehicles.I definitely need to make one for myself.Guess I should make one for dd too.In fact it sounds like a good thing to make later for all my family that has a car as a Christmas present.I've already made them cowls, hats, and fingerless gloves and was wondering about this year so luckily I blab a lot on here and these ideas come to me I aso have thought of ways to change it in various ways with pockets, etc

Ruth - hope you are able to get to the doctor today- its important to go over that blood work. The car bag sounds adorable, and I agree that everyone should have one!! (So glad you found a good pattern!)
A quiet morning for me.....Dh went to Dd’s To baby sit for the grandkids.
Have a wonderful day Ginny

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Over 40 and sunny, minimal wind. So now we're all showered, dressed and ready to go see the doctor. Dh and I decided not to schedule tests till better weather so hopefully the doctor visit won't take long.
I worked on the car bag last night. It's a pretty pattern. I was going to use what they call a "paddy green" and a sage but then I found that the sage is a sport weight yarn so went to white instead. It's a pattern that you have to pay attention too so no mindless crocheting there and of course I had to rip out several times after losing track of stitches but that's fine. I'm learning a new thing. I'm going to just take some kitchen type cotton with me today and just work on dishcloths while waiting. Dan't work on the car tote with all the distraction and didn't get the potholder started and to do the first couple rows takes concentration which I had planned to do last night but didn't. After the first couple rows it's easy. Ginny, I think you asked about the potholders one day...what pattern it was...well it's the stitch I later found out was called the thermostitch. I guess it's because It is thick and protects your hands from therms...heat.
Well gotta do a couple things before leaving so will see you all later

Hello Crafters Ginny - I think you'll like the Fage yogurt better. I've never tasted the sour taste using that. Ruth - Hope you and your DH had a safe trip to the doctor's appointment today. I'm glad the weather was better Meg - I hope the antibiotic will clear up your infection. I liked the show Victoria too. I watch a lot of the Masterpiece shows, some of them are so much better than shows we have on regular and cable TV. It's sunny and 60 here today, a big change from all the cloudy and rainy days we've had. I went out and did my grocery shopping today and also stopped for lunch at Chick-Fil-A. I really like their nuggets and Iced Tea. I bring them home and then add a bunch of lettuce and my own dressing and make a big salad. Take care everyone!

CJ, I like Fage the best also. I'm glad to hear the weather was nice for you today and you were able to go out to do your grocery shopping. And what a good thing to do adding the lettuce, etc to bulk up those nuggets. A person could eat a while lot of nuggets if they didn't eat anything else with it. So your salad probably fills you up and you get to enjoy the nuggets too.I've never been to a Chik-Fil-A. We at least used to have one at the mall. I don't know if it's still there or not. I never go to the mall.
Well finally home. After the doctor we stopped at the grocery store that has dh's pharmacy and got his new med and did some shopping. It turned out that his A1c was not all that bad after all my speculation on what she was going to say about it.Turned out she said she would keep things the way they were and he could have another A1c drawn in six months.. well I think not so dh asked her about metformin and she did prescribe it. His cholesterol, etc are way good now with the statin drug. Mine is still bad but that's because I didn't take the statin. It was prescribed for me but I didn't take it. I'm bad about taking pills.I guess I'll start.
Going to go eat now and will check back later. Have a good evening all

Thanks to everyone for the heads up on Fage- think Friday I will make those bagels (which I like anyway) and they should be less sour. I am not a big Greek yogurt fan, but my small taste of Fage was pretty good.
Ruth - I do not blame you one bit for taking potholders to crochet at the doctors office. Something mindless and easy....Sounds like the visit to the doctors office was a good one.Yes, you should start taking those meds, if the doctor wants you to. We want you around for a long time too!!
CJ- isn’t chik-Fil -A great! We eat there going to the outer banks- there are a ton of them in Virginia enroute. Glad you got out and got a meal you can also bring some home to enjoy too!
OK day at work....got some crochetting done. Not too many rows until that afghan is done. Oh, Ruth- thanks for that Andy crochet pattern- gee those fingerless gloves are cute! I might give them a try....I liked the ribbing.
Hi to Phyl and Meg - hope both of them are feeling well Have a great evening. Ginny

Got a little crochetting done this am and some done last night. Now just have to decide how big to finish it off at, DGS’s is 50 inches long, and I do like that length- not too big, not too small. I will measure it later on today and see how much longer I want to make it.
Beautiful day here- 54 and mostly sunny. We took the kids to the park so they would get some fresh air.

Hello to all. I hope you are all having a great day. Ginny, good work in getting in all the crocheting. I don't know how large mom's want their baby blankets to be. Some of the ones I make are larger and some are a little bigger than you would really need to cover a baby in a car seat so not all that large.
There weren't a lot of people at the doctor's office yesterday and we didn't really spend any time out in the waiting room anyway. We were called in almost right away but then did have to wait a bit for the doctor to come in but they kept us occupied filling out survey's so I didn't get any crocheting done there after all. I did end up having some time I could have done some but thought that the doctor would be in at any second so I didn't start any
Last night I worked on starting a potholder and will start a couple more so that I have things to work on if dh decides to go to PT. I'll be sitting there a lot if he does so will have lots of crochet time. As I said the first couple rows aren't the easiest things to do so I want to have those already done and just have the easy rows to work on when out.
Today is not as warm as yesterday was and it didn't get up to 54 here like in Ginny's area but it did get to 40's which is ok with me.
so now, although I need to do some things around the house, I think I'm going to just sit and crochet for awhile

Hello Crafters Ginny - I'm glad you're having a nice mild day and were able to take the kids to the park, I'm sure they enjoyed it. Ruth - I'm glad your DH's A1C is O.K., hope you can get your numbers down too. Sounds like both of you are getting some crocheting done, hope you are enjoying it. It was around 60 here today and partly cloudy/sunny. We're supposed to get some rain tomorrow. I actually did some work on a quilt today. I finished piecing together the small table top quilt that I started several weeks ago. I'm hoping to get back to some quilting in March. I was thinking about goals that I have and there are 3 that I can think of, so maybe I can set those for March and see what happens. Take care everyone!
