We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

Good morning everyone!
Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful, sunny day here, and I'm enjoying my coffee as I catch up on the weekend posts.
As I was driving to Jackson on Friday I was listening to CNN and unfortunately heard all of the JA's CPAC speech. It made my skin crawl, and yes, as Linda said they were still actually chanting "lock her up." These people are like a broken record. They just can't seem to move on past anything.
Pat, I've noticed those commercials recently too. We are definitely a changing society, and so I do have hope that we are going to see at least some change on the gun issue as well. I don't think we will get a lot of change, at least right away, but any change at all is better than nothing. With persistence, maybe we will someday see a day where my great-grandchildren will live in a safer world. We just have to keep the pressure on, and not let this end up getting swept under the rug the way it normally does. Already there's a lot of pressure to place the blame on anyone and everyone other than the fact that someone had an AR15, and should not have had it. I agree the FBI made mistakes as they acknowledged. Evidently there were some big mistakes made in the Sheriff's Dept as well, but nevertheless, this kid had the weapon, and he should not have had it. We've got to stop that.

"Chris Kyle the greatest american sniper in military history was shot and killed when confronted by a "crazy guy" with a gun. So we just have to train the teachers a lil bit better than Chris Kyle."

As for the JA using the Parkland shooting photo to fund raise, don't get me started. I can't even talk about that without using some "inappropriate" language. Disgusting doesn't even begin to cover it.

Blue skies, sunshine & 29 degrees above. ND Banana Belt weather. Lots of snow around tho, so still feels like Winter.
Ivanka skirming about the question asked of her of her dad's infidelities was abit satisfying. First off, odd question to ask her. Of course she is going to defend her father. . But then again she is a senior advisor, so, she should get tough questions. The whole family is clueless so why bother even asking any of them questions. I wonder how she will feel about Daddy throwing Jared under the bus in leaving decision to Kelly to decide on security clearance for him. Or did JA throw Kelly under the bus to make that kind of decision? Either way it could get sticky. From what I've read, both Jared & Ivanka do not like Kelly & were upset when Porter got fired. So as I said the whole family is clueless.
JA using a photo of his visit to the hospital for fund raising is wrong on so many fronts!
The daughters of the guy who wrote The Snake poem are asking JA to stop using their Dad's works in his speeches. Good for them!
I think the sickest thing at that CPAC convention was JA comments about McCain & the booing of McCain from the audience. McCains daughter had asked JA previously if he would stop bring up her Dad in his speeches & rallies & JA promised her he would. Guess we know how much any promise from him is worth. Just disgusting behavior!

Just disgusting behavior! It is disgusting behavior if it comes from a president. However, it's perfectly acceptable and expected if it comes from a ratings driven media hog. He is not a president. His supporters are not patriots. They're parrots.

It is disgusting behavior by them all, and I agree that these people chanting like idiots at his rallies are not patriots. They are brainless imbeciles. He will say and do anything to get adulation from his audience of lemmings.

Randy Rainbow...... Trump said he would run into a school during a mass shooting if he didn't have "a weapon" but I think he meant to say "these darn bone spurs."
I actually heard him say that at his meeting with the Govenors today. Yup, 5 times draft dodger can act tough, "in his own mind" but push come to shove, we know exactly what a coward JA really is. He even runs from the truth on EVERYTHING!
Kudos to the Washington state Governor, who stood up in that room full of Govenors & told JA to his face, " to tweet less, listen more!" ...the look on JA face was priceless...LOL...

Linda, I heard that on my car radio. I wanted to stop and give a standing ovation for that WA governor, but decided the traffic behind me wouldn't appreciate the gesture. As for his running into the school even without a weapon, maybe he might want to save money for training teachers to pack heat by doing away with his secret service detail. Clearly he must be tough enough he doesn't need them.

Glad to see that there are some major companies severing their ties with the NRA. That gives me hope.

Baby steps.
Sadly, too many of our babies had to be taken before we even took one little tiny step in the right direction. Even the little tiny steps we're finally taking are because our children encouraged and embarrassed us into doing something.
I'm going to have to get another plaque for my wall. I have one that reads, "Listen to women for a change." Now I need one that says, "Listen to children for a change."

Naaaaa he would be running. What a waste this parade he wants will be......give that money to NPR or schools.
