TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Kathy β Just imagine - C27 is just around the corner. Youβve been amazing! Wishing you a back to back and I know you can do it.
Jan β Sorry about DSβs disqualification. Hope he know itβs just something to work on. The night time eating is understandable. Youβve got a lot going on. Letβs not let The Donald affect our eating, though, or it will be an even more painful 4 years.
Beth β waving back.
Lori β Have you tried the WW fruities? They help me exit the kitchen and are relatively pointless.
Cindy β Organizing the photos is a great idea. A perfect project that will serve your purpose.

Morning, BFF's! Eating has been going well this week, i.e. mostly healthy. I would like to keep that going. I have felt the pull of wanting to drown my inauguration anxiety in sweets, but have not, yet. Every hearing this week has had me twisted. So, so distressed and disgusted. TTYL

Nancy - "Iβd be pleased if IE on occasion would replace the all or nothing mentality when LP is not an option." I hope so, too!!
Kathy - It's great to see you on a good streak and felling better. Keep it going! I have never seen eating for relaxation/enjoyment as a bad thing. The trick is not having it be the only thing or too much. Sometimes I find it easier to make sure I have a selection of things on hand that would be reasonable, rather than fighting my nature. Cindy - The photo project is a great idea. When you are done, can you come help me with mine?
Jan - Congrats to DS on the meet results, other than the frustrating (for DS) DQ.
Lori - Sorry to hear about the student at your school.
Beth - Congrats on the week of tracking!

Good morning......
I escaped yesterday mostly unscathed. DS15 asked to go for a haircut and then to Marshall's, and I happily agreed. I did a little retail therapy, and even avoided the gourmet chips and nuts in the checkout line. One of my clients is so sweet; he occasionally gives me a Balance bar as I'm leaving as he knows I'm always on the run. Anyway, I had half a bar in my car and ate that on the ride home from shopping.
Nancy, great point about making the next 4 years even worse. That comment made me chuckle.
Edesia, the hearings have been painful. DeVos is especially scary.

Good morning!
Great WW meeting last night. That thursday night group is a hoot. A couple people brought in there new exercise gadgets to show off. It's some kind of balance board...you get on it and twist. They love it. Definitely not for me!
I did finally weigh in at the meeting...I have a physical today and they will weigh me but i prefer to "go by" my WW weigh in which is at a consistent time & day. I had stayed off the scale at my last 3 WW meetings cuz feared that the number would send me spiraling. I knew that last night, after having a string of successful "track no matter what" days that i could focus on THAT success and the number on the scale would not effect me. And i was right.
I also had a lovely day with food yesterday.
Menu plan & grocery list for the coming week is all set. Have already tracked all the dinners, entering recipes into recipe builder if they weren't already there. Will grocery shop on the way home from work today.
Ok...off to my physical!
have a good day everybody!
