Hey everyone! I hope you don't mind if I get things started. So, I need some help. I'm not doing the greatest job tracking right now, but I'm working out, and I'm not seeing anything good happen on the scale. So I'm becoming very frustrated. I feel like I weigh a gazillion pounds so this should be easy, but it's fighting me. I'll admit that I need to stick to the tracker better, but I'm not going crazy over points, so a gain of 3 pounds in one week seems outrageous. Is it water retention? The first week I thought, yes, this week, I'm not so sure. Are the antibiotics I'm on screwing me up? I don't know what my next course of action should be and I'd love input from my "A Lot to Lose" friends. If I'm just being a whiner, you can tell me.

Irisinnia, thanks for the March start! You are not being a whiner. I am struggling too. It could very well be your antibiotics. Hang in there. I need to work on "honest" tracking. I am up 2 pounds. I was so close to breaking the 200 mark and was so excited to do it, but......

Hi all Weigh in and down another pound, and I broke into a new decade. Nothing really new just that the Girl Scout cookies are coming tomorrow. Luckily, I only ordered 4 boxes this time. Yucky heavy wet snow this morning, but the kids still had school. irisinnia, Honestly in my opinion exercise has every little to do with weigh loss. It has a lot of other benefits, but food intake is what is really important when trying to lose. I think if you get back to tracking and staying on plan you will see results. sunrose49, hope you have a better week and break through that 200 lb mark.

leesa, good to see you. WTG with another pound loss!! I agree that food intake has a lot to do with weight loss. I exercise almost every day, but I jam the food in at night. No wonder I'm not losing.
cj59, how are you doing?

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking the past few days, so I thought that I should show my face and say hi!
By way of update, I completely stopped dieting shortly after I left these boards. I've been reading a lot about intuitive eating and the body positive movement. I really needed to work on my relationship with food. I'm still a work in progress on that front.
Weight-wise, I stopped weighing myself for the most part, but I did step on the scale the other day out of curiosity. I have gained. That is hard for me to swallow. That being said, I'm conflicted about trying to diet again. I think that I still have some work to do.
Life-wise, I've had four major life stressors in the past three years which have taken a toll on everything. My "normal" life is incredibly busy and stressful by itself - when you add those other things, I really think it's more than any one person should be expected to bear.
In any event, I'm hanging in and doing much better than I was 3 months ago.
Hope you all are doing well!

wwlurker, That sounds incredibly challenging. I'm sorry for all the stressors you have to deal with, but I'm really impressed by you working on intuitive eating and body positive thoughts. That's such a great approach when life is making it difficult to diet. Keep hanging in there! sunrose49, Thank you so much for your supportive words. I needed a little encouragement from people who get it. Breaking the 200 mark is super exciting! You'll get there. And hopefully, I'll follow you shortly after! leesa, I think you're so right about that. Thank you for telling me what I needed to hear. I'm going to buckle down on tracking this week. Congratulations on your new decade and good luck with those cookies! I only bought three boxes and... it did not go well. I'm recommitting to tracking. And I'm going to work on a frequent breakfast, lunch, and dinner list with points so I stop 'guessing' points until I put them in at the end of the day.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - It could be water gain from the medicine if you know you haven't eaten that much over your points. Hopefully sticking to tracking will show you how much and what you are eating. sunrose - Sorry to hear you are up too, but I know you can get back on track Hope you don't lose power. leesa - Congratulations on the loss. I ate through 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies a few weeks back . I put two other boxes in the freezer and hopefully I can portion them out. I do have one box of Thin Mints that I've been portioning out 2 cookies every evening after dinner as a snack. wwlurker - I'm so happy to see you posting and I'm glad you've been lurking I'm sorry to hear about all the stress you've had these last 3 years, sometimes it does seem too much to bear - I can certainly understand that. I'm glad you are doing better. I wish I could do the Intuitive Eating, but I know myself too well and I would eat more junk food than I should. But I do read a lot of people saying it works for them. Please keep checking back in I gave myself a day off from "dieting" yesterday and ate a bunch of junk, and some good foods too. But I'm back on track today. I want to try to have at least one day a month, or a couple meals a month where I just don't stress about what I'm eating. I'm going to try this and see if I can do it or not. I just want to find some ways to work out my eating so it's not always so much effort. I'd rather have just one day or just a few meals off plan than get to a point where I go for several days out of control. I'm really fighting the desire to overeat today due to the strong winds we're having. I'm having roof damage and I'm concerned about how I'm going to get it fixed since I know every roofing company in town is going to be busy after the damage that's happening all over the area. I really want to eat all the stress and anxiety I'm feeling, but I'm trying to resist. I've been getting in some walking around the house to get steps and drinking lots of water so hopefully I can make it through the day and deal with these house issues. I know it will all get worked out eventually

Just wanted to update that I was able to get an appointment for Monday or Tuesday for a Roofing company to come out to my house. This is such a relief to me. irisinnia - I meant to say earlier thanks for starting the March thread

Good morning
wwlurker, how great to see you post. I have thought about you often and hoped you were okay. I can relate to how you feel. I hope things are much better for you. Hang in there we are always here for you.
cj59, I use to take Sunday dinners off. My DSon and I still do that, but I continue to add in other days, which I need to stop.
irisinnia, planning your meals is a great idea. I use to do that in my tracker and then checked off the food as I ate it. It really helped. Maybe I should go back to that. Do you use a paper tracker?

It was so darn windy yesterday. I never left the house. Luckily all is fine at my house. Just a few big branches that came down from trees (away from the house). I just walked outside with my dog and gee it is still pretty windy and cold.
I had Girl Scott cookies when I was in Florida. Thin Mint--my fav. I bought a bag of jelly beans the other day at the store. I threw them out this morning (after I ate my favorite colors).

Hello Everyone sunrose - I'm glad you didn't have any damage from the windstorm. I did the same thing with the jelly beans Thanks for mentioning that you do a free meal sometimes. I think the free meal will work better than a free day, I really don't enjoy eating so much like that anymore. I need to focus on eating foods that I really enjoy and not all of them at one time. I'm really hoping I can do this and that it will help all the cravings and obsession I have with thinking about food I'm really proud of myself that I managed to have a good day yesterday and didn't let the stress drive me to food. I doubt I'll always be successful at this but if I can be most of the time then I'll feel like I've learned something over the past 3 years. I'm doing good today and have gotten in a lot of activity (walking and picking up a bunch of shingles that were all over the yard). I also worked out my food plan for the day this morning and I need to work on tomorrow's too. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans. Have a great weekend!

Just checking in for the day and hoping everyone is doing well.
This is the last day of my week, so I guess I'll see if my day of overeating caused a weight gain when I weigh-in tomorrow. I hope not, since the other 6 days of my week were on track.

Good morning
cj59, too funny that you did the same with the jelly beans. I hope your WI goes well for you.

My WW meeting yesterday was awesome. We were challenged to pick two goals for the week. I have picked mine and will work on them daily. It's always a challenge.

Hello everyone! New week of tracking starts today. I already went 'off plan' for breakfast, so 'on plan' for lunch is a must. I'm back to exercising again, but I'm really thinking I need to put in the time in the kitchen. I feel like the eating is above and beyond dailies and weeklies so I'm thinking mini goals to get me back under control. For example: DP = 33, DP + 1/7 WP = 40, maybe shoot for 45 points? I can easily do a 50 or 55 or beyond day so I think closer to "on plan" range would be an achievement. sunrose49, I'm so glad you had an awesome meeting. Can you share any of your goals? Good luck with the challenge! As for the paper tracker question, I track in Ultimate Food Value Diary at the end of the day, but I write down what I plan to eat (and what I actually end up eating) in my bullet journal. I like having that record on paper because it's easier to review and make changes. cj59, I like the idea of a free day or free meal. I'm definitely not ready for it now, but I could see it loosening the plan up in the future, so that it's more sustainable. Sounds like you're making a lot of progress dealing with stress! That's awesome and I hope your WI goes good for you! Good luck on your plans everyone! May you see the step in front of you and not the staircase.

Hello Everyone
sunrose - I'm glad you had a great meeting. When I used to go to meetings I enjoyed a lot of the challenges and goals they had, it did make me put more effort into my weight loss. I finished the rest of my jelly beans last night
One of my favorite challenges used to be to try a different vegetable or fruit each day for a week. That made me try things I never had before.
irisinnia - Hope you can get yourself back on plan today. Mini-goals are great and you sound like you have a good idea to try mixing up your points.
I still track on paper and I like it so that I can see everything at a glance. It's great there are so many tracking options now for everyone to choose from.
I'm doing well today and feeling strong and on track. I weighed-in and stayed the same from last week. I'm very happy about that with the one day of lots of overeating. It's nice to see that one day out of seven didn't cause me to gain, but I'm not going to do a full day anymore. It was just too much food that I was actually forcing myself to eat. It's crazy how I do that when I start overeating. I think I know that I'll have to stop at some point so I try to get in as much as I can before I stop. Madness!!
Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Good morning
irisinnia, I like your plan regarding the DP. My two goals are to cut back on wine and track every day. I use paper and the WW app. I got a blue dot yesterday for tracking correctly.
cj59, that's great you stayed the same! I use to pick dinner as my one/weekly meal to be free with. That way I was good the rest of the day. I love jelly beans. ;-)
Waving to all
I was pretty darn good yesterday. I did have 2 (5 oz) glasses of wine that I measured and accounted for. I will start the c25k today. I start and stop it all the time, but I hope to really stick with it now that Spring and great running weather will be here soon.
