Good morning!
Ruth, glad you were able to ascertain that you were not charged for those items, its just a shamet that you did not purchase them when you had hoped to . Walmart is great with returns, especially if you have the reciept. Funny thing with their pants- some look exactly alike but the fit is different. Found that out when buying pants for my mom. Its just frustrating, that is all.
Got one row done this am on the afghan. Dh thinks she will deliver this weekend, but her due date is actually in 2 1/2 weeks. GUess only the Lord knows the answer to that.
Got the grandkids- here , Dh is watching TV with them.
CJ- good luck with the contractor today.Meg,and Phly, have a great day....

I hope this is a week that is great for all Ginny, good think that Hobby Lobby is on the other side of town because I for sure don't need anymore yarn. BUT their yarn is so nice.I'm sure I'd buy plenty if I actually want over there. Got a lot done yesterday after I got myself together. Today I have only two crochet items to put the finishing touches on and one is only putting on a button so that will take just a couple minutes. Then I'm going to gather all the gifts together and maybe wrap them but I also have some cooking and baking to do so actual work will interfere with my crafting So right now while dh is still napping I'll work on those two finishing tasks. I was just thinking of your dds last night and praying for them both and the baby also. As you said, the baby will come in the Lord's time. Oh the days of watching tv with grandchildren. When my now 12 year old grandson was a toddler he was obsessed with Barney so when babysitting him I watched hours and hours of Barney. When his brother who is 14 years older was a toddler he used to watch it too so I watched with him also and with the children in between...the boys are my dd's oldest and youngest of her six. We sang a lot of " I love you, you love me, we're a happy family...." . Later with this youngest one it was hours of SpongeBob.My ds' oldest loved Bob the Builder. The other thing that 12 yr old grandson liked to do is search my car for possible dropped toys, esp hotwheel cars, and also go for walks. So I did a lot of walking when he was little.

Well, right now I wish I could go grab my book and rest for awhile, but I have to return to work. Been a busy morning with the grandkids. Think we all have those little kid songs stuck in our heads- the other day on my bus a 6th grader was singing the song from Mr Rodgers - “beautiful day in the neiighborhood”. Such good memories, as I am sure you remember the Barney song.
Ok so lets all of us find the most central Hobby Lobby and meet there and buy yarn. Not that I need yarn, but it sure would be a hoot.
Have a blessed afternoon.....Hey CJ- the Nor’easter that is supposed dump 5 to 8 inches on my area, are you predicted to get any snow?
Ok gotta go back to work - G

It was predicted that we would get a bit of snow but so far not even a sign of snow. However this happened last week too and at the end of the day the snow started. It's cold though. Yes my kids used to watch Mr Rogers so that song often is in my mind too. For some reason this morning it's Christmas songs...hang your stockings and say your prayers cuz santa claus comes tonight Well all the crochet projects for these two birthdays are completely done. Now I'm off to gather gifts. As you know I throw in something for everyone so have to find the little things. I used to send a lot of coloring books but haven't done that in awhile. I don't have any so will have to make a stop at the dollar store when I'm out next.Bigger girls usually it's nailpolish or something like that and for all the girls another choice is an inexpensive piece of jewelry..they have nice bracelets and necklaces with characters like "Frozen" on them for the younger ones. For the oldest boy it's not easy but dh usually has a suggestion or two for some little thing for him.Even though he's 19 now I still like to include him, esp since he's the one that started it all Ok see you later.....after all the cooking. I'm going to make the two ingredient dough and make calzones with it.I hope it works but from what you ladies say it worked for you so hopefully I don't mess it up or the altitude doesn't. And yes, we'll all meet at Hobby Lobby and then go out for a good cuppa tea and a scone. My friend in Alaska often invites me over for a lemon filled donut and tea. It's a favorite of both of us. And ironically, before we moved here the hospitial near her was one of the ones I was considering. We would have undoubtedly actually met because it's a very small town and her husband volunteered at that hospital for years. In fact he just quit volunteering last year when he turned 95. She is a woman I met on the old WW board on Meg's knitting thread and we've corresponded daily in email ever since. She's a very lovely woman. It's amazing how you can come to sincerely care about people you never meet in person...only online.

Hello Crafters Ruth - I hope your calzones work out, please let us know. I made some cinnamon raisin dough yesterday morning and it turned out well. I'm glad you finished your projects for the birthdays. I'm sure the kids enjoy getting those gift boxes from you Ginny - We're not supposed to get snow, but possibly rain from later Tuesday and into Wednesday. I hope you don't have to drive in the snow. Hope you enjoy the day with the grandkids. Meg - Hope your weather is good and you're getting in some crafting and listening to a good book. I'm waiting to hear from the roofing company. They said they would call today, so I sure hope I hear from them by this evening and that they can get here tomorrow. With the possibility of rain tomorrow afternoon, I know I'll have leaking on from that roof where it's peeled back. If I wasn't afraid of heights I'd get up on a ladder and pull it back where it blew up. But I am afraid of heights There are a few Hobby Lobby's in my area but they are at least 45-60 minutes away from me so I haven't been to one yet. I hope to stop by someday and check them out. The weather here today is pretty and sunny, and in the high 40s. I've been so fortunate we've had no rain since my roof damage. I tried some Twining's English Breakfast tea today and it had a nice smooth taste like the Red Rose, so I'm glad to have another smooth tasting tea to try. I've had this one before but had been comparing it to other teas and didn't care for it as much. It's really amazing how all these teas can taste differently. Take care everyone!

CJ, I sure hope you get a call and they can do something at least temporary to keep your roof from leaking
Well I worked my fingers to the bone as they say and am tired now. I never did make the calzones. Can't imagine making them also now that I have all the other things made.I don't think that I could even make a cup of tea right now until I rest up.Got the kitchen back in order though so that's done.
Now that I have all those things done in crocheting I'm not sure what I want to work on next. I'll probably just do a couple potholders for the next couple days because I do intend to give some to dd either on Easter or her birthday and they're a nice easy project. Easter isn't that far away and her bday is two weeks after that. Im going to make her a Harry Potter cup cozy and HP hand sanitizer cozy She's a big HP fan. Gotta do bills tonight or tomorrow and also have to start on my tax soon. This evening also I need to look for where I put the things I already had for my dgd. I do think I have enough gifts for her even without the things that disappeared from my car in walmart.I guess I'll go do that now.
Have a great evening everyone

Just a short hello- gotta stop at the store for some last minute items before the big storm. Praying that we keep power throughout this one.
Ruth, how will you make a HP cozy? You have such a wonderful and creative mind.
CJ- lets hope that the roofing guy gets to see you!! Would your brother be able to tarp your roof for you if the contractor does not make it there?
BBL ladies....hope Meg and Phyl check in too G

Hello Crafters Ginny - I hope you keep power during the storm coming your way and hope that everything else is O.K. too. Ruth - The HP hand sanitizer and cozy sound like a nice gifts for a fan. Hope you can get to your taxes too. It's almost 3:00 P.M. here and no word from the roofer. The rain is coming too so if they don't get here today I'll just have to keep a watch on the ceiling under where the roof pulled back. Maybe there is still enough cover on there for no leaking. This company came to my brother's house yesterday and he said they told him they should get to my house today. If they don't come today I'll call them in the morning and find out if I'm still on their list. My brother is older than I am and I don't like to ask him to do anything like getting on a ladder, etc. He's been great to help me many time with other things though. These are the times when it's handy to have a younger man in the family to help with things Take care everyone!

Hello everyone,
The sun is shining here today but I found it cold this morning. I am going out in a few mins. I have to pick up a prescription and I have a skein of yarn I will return to Jo Ann's. I bought the yarn on Sunday and it is the wrong shade of yellow. So yesterday I ordered the yarn from Amazon. It is LB pound of love and they have 2 yellows. I need it to finish the b/blanket I am crocheting. It looks like Michaels is discontinuing LB pound of love. Jo Ann's usually has a pretty good stock. I don't go to Hobby Lobby very often because Michaels & Jo Ann's are more convenient. The Hobby Lobby store is a really nice store but I have never had time to browse as much as I would like to. It's about 1/2 hour from me.
Ginny, I hope you have the b/blanket finished for the new grandchild. I am sure you are all very excited as you wait the great event. Thanks for the heads up re Hobby Lobby sale but at the moment I need to stay out of there. I hope you stay safe when the big storm hits. I will keep you all in my prayers. I hope you can find a good book to read and that you can find time to relax.
cj, I hope you get a good roofing company. I am sure a lot of people are having to re roof. We had stormy weather here for a few days with heavy rain. I noticed some tree branches down when I was out yesterday. I like Twinings English teas but I have some of their Irish tea and I find it a bit strong.
Ruth, It is too bad when house work distracts from crafting. We have Devin home from school today. He has a low grade temp but I don't think there is much wrong with him.
I have to go and pick up my prescription and maybe return the yarn I bought at Jo Ann's on Sunday.
Have a great evening.

CJ, I sure hope that by now the roofing company has come and taken care of the roof at least to the extent that it doesn't leak when it rains. Then that they will get back in a timely fashion and get the whole thing done.
Meg, sorry you have to take that yarn back. Lion Pound of love does seem to have the same color in different shades for a few colors. It makes it hard to buy it when you don't have the exact info on the color you need with you. Sorry Devin has a fever but kids do get fevers often and it sometimes doesn't mean much.
Ginny, I hope you are well stocked up on the things you need for a few days. I hope the storm doesn't last but if it does I do hope the school district will close the schools for that time and you don't have to go out in bad weather. I remember one time when I was in high school that they closed school for a whole week. My brothers and the neighbors and I played monopoly the whole week. One of my fond memories.
I'm late getting here today because my laptop didn't charge during the night. I still haven't got a replacement charging cord so while charging it has to be sitting still and with the cord bent a certain way. Worked fine when I finally got it plugged back in but had to wait for dh to wake up. It didn't charge all the way but I had to get it and check on you dear ladies.
I started wrapping gifts this morning but haven't finished yet. I knew I had two downstairs but could only find one so I'll just save that one for later. Dh says there's no hurry to go out this week. I thought he wanted to go tomorrow but I guess not so I do have time. I do have one package I'd like to get mailed soon though but I think if I mail it next week it will get there on time.I'll probably go ahead and finish wrapping just in case dh changes his mind. I know he likes to get out once a week or so.
Well I'm going to go and try to decide what to work on next for crafting. As you said, Ginny, we do feel naked without a project.I could make dh his bath pouf or I could make myself some slippers or I could get busy on the fingerless gloves I promised dgd but she won't need them now till next winter and it doesn't get all that cold there in the spring and I won't be sending another box there anyway till August.
So see you all later and have a good day

Good evening!
CJ- I sure hope that maybe if the roofingl company did not make it to see you today that perhaps they make it first tihing tomorrow.. Have you called them back to see if you are still on their list?
Meg- hope the yarn return went well. Glad you were able to find the right yarn on amazon
Ruth- you have a lot to wrap- all those precious hand made gifts for your family. Perhaps you can try new patterns for the fingerless gloves, now that you have time to figure out which pattern you like best.
I ordered some mason jars- we are having a small baby shower here for Dd and I am going to make some sugar scrub tor each attendee (less than 10 people). Got some crochetting in today also. School is already closed for tomorrow- we are supposed to get a foot of snow tomorrow. Hppe we keep our power.
Good night all- will see you tomorrow Ginny

Good morning!
I am thinking of CJ and hope that she has been able to secure her home from further damage with this storm. Just saw some news coverage from Washinton DC- the weather did not look too bad- but who knows what it is really like where CJ lives. CJ- I wonder if you were to go to a local hardware store or Lowes/Home Depot if you could find a handy man who would at least be able to secure the roof enough to keep further damage from taking place. Of course best of all would be if your contractor shows up today!
Got some crochetting done this am- now have to start straightening up my craft area which looks like a bomb hit it. The small baby shower will be in that room (I sew in a small alcove off the main room- so it is visible from the familly room. Gotta figure out food and games for the affair.....
Hope we keep power today. Right now the snow is getting a little bit heavier- they say we will have heavy snow in an hour or so. Will stop back in later if I can G

Ginny, I sure hope you don't lose power. It's not fun to have a day off and not be able to do anything because of no power. That is so sweet of you to make that scrub for the people attending the shower. I'm sure all will love it. You are certainly creative.
It was supposed to be fairly warm here today but so far is isn't. Supposedly the next week or so is supposed to even hit the 60s which would be wonderful.
Since dh said no rush on getting out I didn't finish wrapping but, as expected, later in the day he claimed he didn't actually say we weren't going out today but then I told him that since he sounded like that's what he was saying that I wasn't prepared to go. He actually said, " if we don't get out this week, we can go out next" so I thought that's what he meant to do was wait till next week. Do all men speak in riddles? Well I'll finish up today in case he actually wants to go tomorrow.I have everything sitting right here and just need to get to it.
So I'll see you all later. Have a great day and CJ, I hope they get to your roof...TODAY
