Thank you Ginny, Yes I hate when you click on a pattern that you've bookmarked or something and find it's no longer available. I have a pattern that also has a large ruffle edging. A friend sent that one to me and said she made a smaller edging too because she felt the ruffling was too much. I'd do the same. I made her pattern once and did the edging revision. Tried the pattern again after that and couldn't get it to come out right. That was a few years ago though. I should give that one another try. I appreciate you sending the pattern to us. Thank you.
The Christmas tree skirt that Ds and ddil like best is a kit on Craftsy. Well I dont want to buy a kit so I looked online for a pattern and found that very same pattern but it, also was a pattern for sale only its $5.00. I think I can make something very similar without paying.
See you all tomorrow and Ginny, I hope your son had a wonderful birthday

Good morning and a blessed Sunday to all!!
Yes that crochet pattern was so frustrating and I wasted a ton of time trying to find it when it disappeared. Plus many had it on Pinterest- saying it was a free pattern, well that was nonsense as everytime I clicked on the “free”Pattern I was sent back to the designers web site which indicated that there was a link for the free patterns. That link does not exist....its a big merry go round. What I like about the pattern is the edges come out clean and its easy to keep track of where you are (if each row is the correct size)
Just sent an email to Meg and Ruth with the pattern attached.. Would be happy to send it to Phyl and CJ if they are interested.
Gotta get ready for church. Ginny

Ginny that is truly a nice pattern. I think I'll start one today to work on in moments here and there. Yes Pinterest really does get on my nerves lately. As you said, you click a pattern, click "visit" and you never know what you're going to get...so called free patterns not free, patterns in other languages, patterns that have no pattern at all..only a picture.
Haven't heard from Nadine today but Im not exactly the first on her notify list I'm sure. I hope the silence means that athey arrived safely to find her mom still alive and that shes spending all her time there holding her mom's hand.I sent her a message telling her I'm thinking of them and praying.
I think my ddil thinks I need things to do because last night she must have been awake late feeding the baby and she sent a message saying that one of the kids wondered if I can make stuffed animals. Of course I wrote back and said that sometimes they're a challenge but I like challenges so she said she would find out which one of the kids it was and what animal they want and let me know.Of course they're in church this morning then will have dinner etc so she probably wont be messaging me soon which is fine because I have plenty of other things to work on.She often says things though and because shes so busy she forgets to follow thru too. With 8 kids, although they all have their chores to help out, you can see why she would be busy.
I took time out last night and started making myself a pair of slipper socks to wear in bed. I only got one done although they're also a "lightening fast" project. so I wore one to bed and will finish the other today before starting other projects.
Oh and Ginny, I see what you mean about the edging...way too much in the way of loops for the baby to get hands and fingers stuck in. I bet a nice picot edging would be great on this blanket. When I get it done I'll experiment but that's aways away from now
Ok see you all later. Its colder today but supposed to warm up some and be fairly warm all week which I love. Not too hot, not too cold..It's overcast though and if it was colder I'd say it's going to snow, so maybe rain

Hello Crafters Meg - I'm happy that you had a nice St. Patrick's day. The bagels for this Two Ingredient Dough don't really have the same chewy texture as a real bagel, it's really more like a breadstick. But I like that you can add different items into the dough for different tastes. Ginny - I'd love to see that pattern, since you say it's so easy - those are the ones I can make I do find this "Paying for patterns" frustrating too and usually will avoid any that aren't free. I realize they are trying to make money but there is so much free on the Internet it's just crazy to charge. Hope your DD is doing well and the baby comes soon. Ruth - How nice that some other children want you to make bible covers for them, I'm sure they are beautiful. Sorry about the soggy calzones, I think you are right that it's probably from the yogurt. Hope you enjoy the slipper socks that you are making for yourself. The weather here is beautiful, sunny and in the 50s. I went outside earlier and cut back my two ornamental grasses that need this done every year in March. Then I raked the leaves away that had been caught up behind them. It only took me about an hour and I had two of the large brown yard bags to put out for pickup tomorrow. Two of my brothers and their wives gave me these grasses as a birthday gift one year and they cut an area in a corner of the yard and placed them in there. It's probably been 5 or 6 years ago and they still come out beautiful every year - it was a really nice gift that I get to enjoy each Summer and Fall. Take care everyone!

Good afternoon!
CJ- we have an ornamental grass here (one of the taller ones) and you are SO very right they are just really really pretty!! Except for this time of year they are pretty much maintenance free. Glad you were able to cut back yours and get ready for spring growth. I will be happy to email the pattern to you for the baby afghan. I opted for that route as I did not want to get into trouble over posting someones pattern that they were charging use of. Will send it off to you.
Ruth, you being the jack of all trades with a crochet hook- well, I am sure you will be able to find a pattern or two for stuffed animals. My mom had some patterns for them, she said they were easy.....(at least her patterns were). I can check through my patterns and see if I kept any. Remembered Joanie and Nadine again in prayer this am. Yes, I sure hope that Nadine is with her mom now, sharing how ever much time they both can together.
Cold and windy here- got a nice walk in though. Still have a few minutes of crochetting the edging on the afghan, but I am on the last side so it should go quickly. Hope by tonight I am clipping loose ends and washing the afghan.

CJ, what a great gift to give, the grasses and also planting them for you. It is starting to snow...so much for a warmer day. Ginny, yes I hope your afgan is done and all clipped and ends woven in by tonight...then the baby can come Just went to look for a pattern that I saw mentioned...baby dinos hatching from eggs... I hear hatching things were all the rage at Christmas. My 4 yr old grandson would love those but the person wanted $12.50 for the pattern!! Yes I knwo that designing patterns is a LOT of work but, as you said, Cj, there are so many free ones available. I did revise the slipper pattern. Although one woman complained in comments that it was too small for her feet, I found it too big for mine and I do have wide feet. and actually if she was talking about length she was right...the foot part was too short for my size 7 feet and this was supposed to be for a size 8...that part is an easy fix though, just add more rows. What I had to fix really then was the decreases for the heel part so I basically rewrote the pattern to fit my foot. Took time out of working on that to do our version of crafting...looking at patterns. Companies send me email taking about patterns so I, of course, have to go and check them out. Now if I spent more time actually making the patterns instead of looking, I'd accomplish a lot more. ok, back to work

CJ- just emailed the afghan pattern to you.
Ruth, think we all suffer from the oooooohhhh look at that pattern syndrome, and we lose lots of time looking and not crafting. But we learn from looking also.
By the way, I only paid 99 cents for the afghan pattern. Would not have spent more than that. Think I did a crummy job of explaining, that what is really nice about that very easy pattern is that you create groups of sc, dc, dc across. My afghan to make it the size I wanted and based upon how tight I crochet and the size I hook I used, I made mine 37 groups (sc, dc,dc) across- easy to count 37 to make sure I was not making a mistake- much easier to count 37 groups instead of individual stitches. As you all know I am a bear of little brain....need all the help I can get.
Gotta go clean up from dinner G

Ginny, I recently was looking at a pattern in which you do sc, 2dc in one stitch so when I got your pattern I was wondering if they meant the same thing. Well then I actually looked at the whole thing and saw that she explained on the left side of the pattern and it is as you said, sc, dc in next, dc in the next to form those groups.
Its been snowing steadily since it started and now is heavy. Still it wont last because tomorrow it's to go up to mid 40's
Still haven't even got my slippers done.I'm almost done but I keep stopping to do other things.
Gonna go now. I'll stop back later to see if Meg stopped in and I'll see everyone else in the new week...time sure flies

Hello everyone, I have been on the go today. Devin and I went to church this morning. Then home for lunch and I went to Michaels to get that yarn I need. I was able to find what I needed. So now I need to finish that b/blanket. Devin and his Mom have gone off to a birth day party somewhere. I can't keep up with them but Devin will have fun. So just DS & I for dinner so I am sure we will pick around.
Ginny, Many thanks for the pattern. I will get to it eventually. I am trying to finish 2 b/blankets now. When I was in Michaels today I saw some new yarns and new colors but I just won't let myself buy any more yarn that I don't have a project for. I have some baby pattern booklets that I bought years ago and I didn't crochet much then and I have been trying to find them. I know I did not throw then out. I'll just keep looking.
Ruth, It is never too early to start Christmas projects. Though I don't make too many projects for Christmas but perhaps I will for next Christmas. If I lived in colder climate it would be worth while making gloves and scarves. I don't know why I thought that you were a quilter and that I was the only one who didn't quilt. I am not great at crocheting borders but I keep trying. I took a class at a small local yarn shop and I think I paid a lot for the class and didn't learn a thing. I will not pay for classes any more because someone at my Knit Wits group will help me if I ask, We have all levels of crafters which is great. Hope you get your slippers finished so that both feet will be warm tonight. I love mine and wear them every night. I have about 5 pairs.
cj, getting special grasses for your garden is a very nice gift they will last a very long time.
I am going to do some knitting now.
I wish you all a good evening.

Meg it's good to see you. Sounds like you had what was probably a much needed restful and quiet day after getting home from church. I'm glad you were able to find the yarn you needed. You have great willpower. All those nice new yarns and sales and coupons really tempt me. I looked at yarn today but didn't order any. They do have a really good sale at Michael's on Caron one pounds but then I'd be tempted to buy enough to get to the amount they require for free shipping and I already have a lot of that type of yarn so I need to wait and see what yarns I will need to make the grandchildren requested items. I have yarn for the Bible covers already and also for the tree skirt. Luckily they want it in red and white and I have a whole large box of only red and white yarn that will be perfect. It's all the same brand and type of yarn.Don't know how many skeins of each are in the box but plenty for the skirt and probably two or three skirts. I did finish my slippers and have them on my feet as I'm sitting in bed on my laptop and crocheting and reading an online book altho I think I may delete it because I just don't really like these characters in the story. I have two more books on my hold list that will be available in a couple days. Yesterday this book said 14 more days but apparently the person that got it must not have liked it either and returned it too.
Well see you tomorrow.
