Ginny, I think that I can use other pharmacies but the meds do cost more if you use this at any other than Walmart. It is the least expensive partD plan available. We have no CVS here. Back in NY there was one just around the corner from where I lived last. This plan is a HUmana WAlmart preferred plan. I used to use First Health but the price went up and total costs for the year went up...copays, etc. The plan has actually never kicked in to pay because I dont take enough medication to ever meet the deductible but they also negotiate prices with Walmart so meds end up being a very reasonable price. If I find one that looks better in the fall I'll change as long as they have a mail order option. I really have a hard time with standing in lines although that time could be put to good use. I rarely do that though.
I haven't even started on working on the hat for today. Been reading and studying.Going to go now and have a nice hot cuppa tea. It's warm outside...about 50 but the house is still chilly.

Hello Crafters Ginny - I hope you had safe travels today in your bus. It's very windy here today too. I'm sure there were some beautiful fabrics in your box. Ruth - I hope you can work out the problems with your prescriptions. It's very frustrating that you have limited choices too. My father used to have Walgreens and CVS (at different times) for his home delivery of prescriptions. Meg - I get a lot of ads for certain items when I've searched for them on the Internet too. It helps if you can delete your browsing history. I made a couple bagels with the 2 Ingredient Dough today. My yogurt is getting ready to expire so I wanted to use some of it. I put cinnamon and raisins in one of them at it was so good (I did put some Country Crock and a little cinnamon sugar on it while it was warm). I'm going to toast the plain one and put some preserves on it. It's very sunny here today. We were supposed to get a thunderstorm this morning so I didn't go out for my groceries. And then we didn't get any rain at all!! The weather forecasters must have thick skins to deal with getting their forecasts wrong so often Take care everyone!

And CJ, with all the equipment they have nowdays you would think they would be a little more accurate.I'm sorry to hear you missed out on shopping because of predicted bad weather. Hopefully tomorrow will be good. My sister lives in western NY and she said its very windy there too.I haven't made anymore of the two ingredient dough since the failure of the cinnamon buns but I'll be making something with that dough soon. I too have to use up yogurt although I think it probably is good way beyond the exp date. There's no sense, though, in me letting it just sit there.
I got all the tentacles kind of basted together so just need to sew the eyelids on then I'll be ready to put everything onto the hat. Dh said he'd be glad to help me with finding the placement of the parts. I have to put the hat part on my head and find where to put the eyes and those tentacles so it really helps to have a second set of hands.
Have a good evening all.I'll bbl to see if anyone stops in again

Good evening.
I am tired, will only be here for a few minutes.
CJ- are those tarps holding up ok in the wind? Hope so!!! Sorry that a weather threat interfered with your plans- it would be nice if you could get out tomorrow to get your errands done.
Ruth- I bet it was fun having Dh help with the placement of the eyes and the tentacles.. Quite a project indeed!!
Well, in the silly world of school buses, i have a story. I go by Mrs S- my last name is always mis pronounced, and I feel that the kids ought to show some respect and not call me by my first name. (Many drivers go by their first name). The kids (elementary) seem curious about my name- so I told them I was named for a state. I have to say, my first name, no matter what I do is misspelled, mispronounced - so I do try not to use it much. the kids started guessing- One kid asked if my name was Asia (since when is Asia a state!) and after many really bad guessed, I told them to limit their choices to the original 13 colonies and they might find my name there. One 4th grade girl very quickly came up with the correct answer- after “my friend”- the same joker who thought Asia was a state, suggested that maybe my name was Texas! I told him to go back to study his early American history.
Have a good night G

Ginny, I used to watch the Tonight show when Jay Leno was there. I saw the "Jaywalking" many times where he went out on the street and ask people questions. It's amazing how many adults could give answers that were even worse than the child who thought Asia was a state. Last weekend on Fox Jessie Waters did his asking on the street and his question was "what is Easter". Well I'm sure they edit out all the correct answers Because that wouldn't be interesting but it was unbelievable how many people didn't know the significance of Easter. One person came close but said it was the day Jesus was born...Now I actually thought EVERYONE knew that Christmas is Jesus' birthday. And I truly admire that you have the children call you Mrs. S. Children are not taught respect anymore. Even when I became an adult I still didn't call most older people by their first names. I love when I call companies, etc and the young people that answer the phone call me Ms Ruth instead of just Ruth. I've even had some ask what they should call me.
Speaking of nice people, I had a great conversation with the cashier in WAlmart the other day. Her name was Camilla so I remarked on her having the same name as Prince Charles present wife. She explained how she got that name...she was born and lived in Jamaica until recently and many children there are given names of notable British people. Then in talking about Jamaica we found that we had an acquaintance in commom. And, as my dh said, she actually was working ringing things up while talking. So many times here the cashiers start to talk to the customers and stop doing what they're supposed to be doing and I'm sure make those waiting in line a little bit upset at times. People here are very friendly for the most part.

Well I didn't get the hat done yesterday but am determined to finish it today. Sewing eyeballs on is definitely challenging. I do have one sewed on and had to take a break before sewing on the other. I also got the back part of the head stuffed and sewn in place so after the second eye it won't be hard. Just sewing on the tentacles then the edging around it all which is a lot to sew around because you go around each of 8 tentacles and the hat edging. Of course with all the tentacles in place there's not much of the edging left...then just a couple ends to weave in and I'm done
Next will be the mug cozy for dd, wrap her birthday presents and I'm done with all those. Just waiting to see what the other grands say about the hat. I know the one I'm making it for will be thrilled. As I mentioned, she loves hats.
Sunny, fairly warm day today but its supposed to snow tonight. Hopefully it will all be gone later in the day so that dgd can drive safely from Montana. I heard the ohter day that my oldest grandson and his fiancee and baby will be moving to Montana in a couple months.or maybe it was a couple weeks...can't remember for sure. DD is suffering from empty nest feelings. With six children she now has only one left at home. He's 12 so won't be leaving for a few years at least. And of course shes not happy her #1 grandbaby will be moving although one will still be here. For now anyway. Her dad is having a hard time finding a job here. Small town and sparsely populated state is not exactly booming with employment opportunity. But I wasn't happy to have my ds move out of state with my grandbaby either but we accept what we cant change.
Ok back to the hat.

Well I got the eyes and tentacles sewn on. I could have saved myself some time if I had tried the tentacles as I went along because I found that I have room for only 6 instead of 8 so I guess technically its really not an OCTOpus. Oh well it'll work. Who's going to count?
Sure quiet here today. Everyone must be busy. I hope it's a good busy and you're all enjoying a pleasant day.

I can imagine how stressful it has to be working with all those children. Didn't know you had to have seating charts. I thought they sat wherever they wanted to sit.

Hello Crafters Ginny - Your story about your name and the kids was cute and funny. Hope you get some rest tonight. The tarps held up except for the edge of one that is blown up. The wind was so noisy last night I had trouble sleeping. Ruth - I'm sorry to hear more of your family will be moving away. I get sad every time that happens to me too and I'll have some relatives moving this year. I'm glad you finished the hat and can move onto the next project. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are getting in some crafting. Since we are sharing stores, here's something weird that happened to me today when I was out. I went grocery shopping at a different store than I normally do. The bakery section is at the front of the store, so when I went in the store I started walking around the bakery. I like to look at all the baked goods even though I can't buy any As I was walking through the area I was thinking I'd love to have a Lemon Chess Pie made by Ukrops. There used to be a store called Ukrops that was in Southern Virginia and I'd stop there and get the pie when I went down that way (not very often, so it was treat). Anyway as soon as I thought this I looked at the next counter and there was a Lemon Chess Pie from Ukrops!!!!! The reason this is weird is that the Ukrops stores closed years ago and I haven't seen any of their products ever this far north and didn't even think they were in business. It was just such a strange feeling for that to happen. Of course I bought the pie, even though I shouldn't have I froze some of it and ate the rest - and enjoyed it.

Good evening!
CJ- I enjoyed your Ukrops pie story- I am sure not as much as you enjoyed the pie, but still a really nice story. Its rare that foods from our past crop up like that. WHat awesome discipline that you were able to portion off some for later on. Nice job! Poor thing- I can imagine trying to sleep listening to the wind possibly blowing your tarp off was no fun at all. Hope that the final repairs of the roof can be done soon so that worrying about it is something that you no longer do.
Ruth, congrats on getting that hat done!! I think its great that you are moving on to a simpler project - like mug cozies. After something involved and challenging like that hat, having a mindless project must feel really nice. Sad news that your DGS and his fiancee are moving to Montana. I hope and pray that it works out well for them - that jobs are there and opportunities are good.
The dumb seating chart is done. My district wants them- and it is a great idea- works well for keeping the kids in line. That way, if a substitute driver is on the route and wants to know who the kid in passenger side row 5 was - that was misbehaving, its pretty darned easy to figure it all out and find out who the culprit is. A seating chart is very effective for student discipline....and while its a pain in the neck to make, I gladly take the time to do so. (My elementary route has 53 kids.....no small feat keeping them under control).
Well , when I was at CTS, I bought 2 pots, one with soil and seeds for daisys and the other wildflowers. (Small pots- maybe 8 inches in diameter). I thought I would start them- the directions said anytime from February on....and put the pots on the deck when its time to put them outside. THe wildflowers have germinated! Now mind you its 35 degrees right now, with snow on the way. But spring is coming, albeit a whole lot late.
Have a wonderful night. Hope Meg found her sandals and that Phyl is feeling fine. G

Cj, what a great thing to happen...something you're thinking about and there it is. I've had chess pie and it's great. Lemon sounds even better. Mine was just some I made myself from a recipe that ddil gave me.I agree with Ginny, You sure have a lot of self control. I'd have to do the same in putting part in the freezer or it wouldn't last long in spite of any intentions I have.I'm glad the tarps held up and hope they can get to putting on a new roof soon.
Ginny, the seating chart and kids having an assigned seat sounds like a great idea to me.Thinking back to my own experience on school buses I can definitely see the benefit in that to some of the kids but also to the driver.
I did get the hat completey done. I always see things like that that I think would be great to make then when I find out how long it's going to take Im kicking myself for doing it. So I hope no one else asks for one although if they do it won't be the same. I'll make it simpler and since I've already made one it will be easier.I did forget I was going to make her baby a toy stuffed octopus but might not get to that. They're very easy though...Make a ball and put the curly cues on them and some eyes and theyre done. I'd have to make at least three though because there are three babies and all will probably be there when I go over to visit.
Well CJ, enjoy your pie and Ginny, I hope you have a less busy day tomorrow.
See you manana

Good morning!! Gee, we are having some rare weather here- its snowing! Again. (mind you I do like the stuff). Its only a light snow, and supposed to be rain later on.
Hats off to Ruth for finishing that Octopus hat. Think we have all gotten to that point with both crafting and any project- the middle stage when the words “what was I thinking!” Often come to mind. I get that when I take on Thanksgiving dinner- and need a sanity check mid way through.
Did not sleep too well last night...and have to go back in a litttle bit to do an early take home. Started with the new seating chart. Most kids were ok with it.

Here too. It snowed in the night and is still snowing but its light here too. It's cold though so I need to get my stuff I want to use during the day together to take downstairs where it will be nice and warm.
I'm glad the kids were ok with the new seating.
Have a wonderful day everyone
