CJ, as I was typing it I wondered if I had said that before. I really hate to repeat because back on the old ww board there was a woman that repeated herself day after day. I'd be she still does...same thing every day and same every week. I need to be more tolerant I guess but I don't see that person anymore on here so she may have left. I know that sometimes we forget what we've said to whom and where but I still hate doing it. It does bring back fond memories though of when that dgs was little. He's still a wonderful person. So caring and kind, and kindhearted.
CJ, sounds like great fun to get out once a month with your friends. That sounds perfect to me to do it only once a month. I know what some people get together every week and that would be too much togetherness for me. I mentioned before that I used to belong to Caps for Kids and that was once a month too and was often enough also.I'm not much of a people person. We have a lot new restaurants opening here but no Red Robin as far as I know and yes, they have the "endless" fries right? I'd eat too many even though I'm not a real fry fan.
Good job in getting the quilt block done and I like your plan of putting pieces of fabric from other blocks in some new ones...as you said, it will help it all come together.
CJ, I may have said this too but I love kneading bread dough! Sometimes though you just need a quicker way. I'm going to look that up because I need to use some flour that I have. Dh really likes toast. I wonder if his method would work for gluten free flour. I haven't tried gluten free bread yet but do have some of the flour.

So thankful it's Friday!!!!!
Ruth, I have always thought that it would be a good idea to totally switch recipes with a friend- so that you cook each other's recipes for 2 weeks! Think we all suffer from cooking the same stuff all the time. And it's a pain to figure out what you are going to make for dinner all the time. Most of the time I do not mind cooking, but I hate figuring out what I am going to make! And by the way- my house can use some dusting and vacuuming too!!
CJ- bet this quilt is going to be adorable- I love that you have a game plan for what you are going to do based upon your fabric stash! Glad you enjoyed your lunch out. I have only eaten at a Red Robin once. We had one near us and it closed. And I do think once you have handed one estate, it makes it much easier to plan others including your own. It sure sounds as though you are organized, but we sure hope you will be with us here for a very long time!
Going to go crochet for awhile. Dh went to see his mom-(he did not want me with him). She is not doing well and her doctors are now providing palliative care. because of her other medical conditions, she cannot undergo extensive testing. And she is 92. I will most likely be going with Dh tomorow to see her.
Hi to all who did not make it here yet today- Meg, Phyl and Gail. Ginny

Ginny, I'm sorry to hear your mil is not doing well. Yes she is up there in years but it's hard having our loved ones leave us.
I'm glad it's Friday too so that you can have a couple days rest. To me Friday is just like any other day but to those of you still working it's a good day.
The problem I have is one that CJ is conquering...using up things in her stash. I use my partial balls of yarn in making hats but when making a different project you know how it is. You never have the correct color or weight for what you want to do. I think I have to do as Meg did a couple times and make scrappy blankets. Maybe I could make scrappy scarves or something to use up the leftovers.I do see patterns that they call stash busters and need to do more of those.
Ok now I'm going to go get my shawl and work on it. I need to keep my hands busy because "the hungries are hitting". Do you remember that fast food place jingle. It was a good place too. It was near the hospital i worked at back in NY so people would go over there and get food and bring it back.

Happy Saturday al!
Ruth we alll have too many crafting supplies! But it's that fear of running out- and it does indeed stink not having enough of the right color yarn or fabric.
I have gotten a little bit of crochetting done today- but am kind of tired and really want to take a break. I did run some errands today- and am hoping for a sane evening. Doubt that is going to happen....
I hope I did not miss anyones post. This site has a strange way of showing new posts after I have already put mine in.
Hope everyone has a great day Ginny

Ginny, that happens to me all the time. I finish a post then suddenly there's one just above that wasn't there. One of the threads i go to had no posts for hours and I posted that the lady that "puts us to bed" hadn't been there yet and after I pushed send, there was her message timed 17 minutes before.
I didn't do a bit of crocheting last evening and haven't done any yet today but the good news is that I got out my pedometer and put in a new battery and then walked in place for 500 steps. My goal is to get back to being able to walk down to my mailbox and back a couple times a day by spring. Right now I can hardly walk to my car...just kidding about that but my exercise tolerance has sure declined and I need to get back to getting some in. I'm also doing an online arm strength challenge. Most of my hobbies are very sedentary....crafting, reading, sudoku, tv...ok I'm lazy...lol
Ginny, I do hope you can have a relaxing evening and the rest of you also.
Hello also to CJ, Meg, and PHyl and anyone else that stops by

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday.
Ruth - If you try the no knead bread, please let us know what you think. Glad you are getting in some steps, I love my FitBit. I'm so much more active now that I've lost a lot of weight.
Ginny - Sorry to hear about your MIL. We had Hospice come in at the end of my father's life and I really like the way they provide care. I hope your MIL will get good care too. Glad to hear you got some crocheting in.
Meg and Phyl - hope you are well.
I went to A.C. Moore yesterday and walked through the yarn section. I saw one yarn in a pretty color and touched it, it was so soft. I walked around a few other aisles and walked back by that yarn again and touched it again - still soft! But I didn't buy because I really don't need it.
I didn't get any crafting done today, just got busy doing other things around the house. Hopefully I'll get something done tomorrow - it's Slow Stitch Sunday.
Take care everyone!

HI, I worked on some flannel squares yesterday and today. go one top done. may have to take out two rows looks like it isn't following the pattern..darn. I got two rows done for the second top today.
spent most of last night being awake. have no idea why. took till about 4 am to get some sleep. also had a am nap. so not much craftng being done today.
I keep thinking about joining the 25 block club thing. I have so many projects In the frying pan I'd probably be jumping intoa 3 alarm fire if I start those now.
I have to laugh at a.c. moore. seems growing up there were paint stores by that name. I will have to check out their website.
have a good night. phyl

Meg, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your post. I see you posted again but now it's not on this same page so I'll have to go and read it and answer when I finish this page. Phyl, I was thinking the same thing when someone...I think Ginny...first mentioned AC Moore. I know there's a Benjamin Moore paint company but it sure seems like there was some other company named AC Moore too. I never heard of this AC Moore until that day it was mentioned jusst a couple weeks ago. CJ, Not needing yarn never stopped me from buying esp if it was on sale CJ, also I forgot to go to the no knead site. I wonder if they have a recipe for rye bread. I have some rye flour I need to use. I seem to have all kinds. I will let you know for sure how it turns out. Dh has to finish the loaves he has first though. Oh Meg, I just saw where you lost another post. I also saw the one where you mentioned Kelly Moore. I've never heard of that one either. Ginny, I hope you were able to get in some relaxing time this evening. Well I must be doing something wrong in this pattern. Since it's a triangle shawl it's kind of like one ripple in a ripple afgan in that the holes are supposed to line up. Well one hole was off and then there were more spaces on one side than the other so I took it out back to about row 12 and I think I was on 25 or somewhere around there. Now I'm going to try once more. There are places in the pattern where I don't know exactly what they mean...different pattern designers seem to use the same terms to mean different things. Usually it comes out ok anyway but not in this one that has to have each side the same and those lined up center holes. If I don't get it soon I'll just make a different one that looks much the same but is easier. Have a great night everyone. And enjoy your Sunday.

Hello everyone, Not a lot going on here this weekend. I had DD home yesterday and that went well. I didn't go to church today, shame on me. I haven't done any work on my b/blanket since Friday when I went tp my Knit Wits Go. This afternoon I will hook myself up to an audio book and work on my B/blanket. I have 4 b/blankets sitting here ready to go.
I have my mother's recipe book and in the back there are some hand written recipes that friends gave her. The writing is getting faded. I do remember my mother using these recipes. My mother died when I was 12 and I don't think I have ever tried any of these recipes. I have never baked bread if I did I would probably eat too much of it.
I was thinking that I might give some of my yarn to the Pride workshop where Janet goes every day. They probably could find a use for it. Friends have given me greeting cards that I have given to them. They can use them for art projects.
I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Hello Crafters - hope you are enjoying your Sunday Phyl - if you do decide to work on the 182 Day Solstice quilt blocks, I think you would be able to catch up very quickly. None of these blocks have taken me more than an hour or two to make. Hope you can get some good sleep tonight. Ruth - I did see a recipe for Rye Bread from the gentleman that has this no-knead books and videos. Here's a video for it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCvyCFkIU9kMeg - I was worried about eating too much of the bread too, so I did freeze several portions of it and put out some for the birds and then portioned the rest over 3 days. It would be so nice to make some of your mother's recipes, please let us know if you try them. Hope you got to read and work on your blanket today. Ginny - Hope you are doing well. I didn't get any crafting done today yet, and it's Slow Stitching Sunday, so I really want to push myself to at least stitch for 30 minutes. I have everything set up, so maybe I can so some later. It's supposed to snow here tonight, but just showers, and probably no accumulation. I like to see the snow showers so I'm hoping there will be some more tomorrow. I enjoy snow so much more now that I'm retired and don't have to go anywhere. Take care everyone.

Meg, I'm glad your day with Janet went well. And I do think it's a great idea to give excess yarn to the workshop she goes to. I did try to donate some of my fabric to the Boys and Girls club but they didn't seem to want it. I thought that they would be able to use it for some projects.I'll have to ask my dgd if the organization she works for would be interested in yarn or fabric. she's a supervisor in an organization for developmentally delayed people.
CJ, yes it's amazing how much more I like snow now that I don't have to go out in it. It's nice to just look out my big window and see it falling and see everything being covered with a nice sparkly, pristine white.
OH also, Meg, my mother had a book that had recipes written in it. Her father was a great cook and some of those recipes were his and some were my mother's. No one seems to know what happened to it. She had a great recipe for what she called plum pudding. It wasn't really a plum pudding but was a steamed pudding with suet in it. I remember she always made it in a coffee can with cheesecloth over the top and sitting in a pan of water to steam and made a lemon sauce to go over it. It was fantastic.I can't remember what else it had. I know it had raisins but don't know if it had other dried fruit or not. Her wonderful fudge recipe was in that book too. She lived with my sister until she had to go into a care home, aka nursing home, so I don't know if my sister just got rid of it or if one of my brothers took it or what happened.Actually now it probably wouldn't even taste as good...probably one of those nice childhood memories that when you have that food again isn't at all the same as you remember. But it would be nice to have the book.
Well I found out what I was doing wrong on the shawl and I'm back on track now and back to where I was when I had to frog about 10 rows. IN fact I'm past there so hopefully it will keep going as it should.

I guess my allotted space ran out because I couldn't post anymore and wanted to say that I wonder where Ginny is. With her mil not doing well I'm concerned.
