Good morning everyone! Hope those of you in the Northeast are o.k. with the storm.
Maybe all of you already knew this, but I just read where Tweety signed a proclamation right after he was sworn in declaring his inauguration day a "National Day of Patriotic Devotion." I almost threw up. How narcissistic is it possible to be?! I'm surprised he hasn't yet started having his followers raise their hand into the air and shout Heil Tweety.
Yesterday was a bad day here. It started off with my getting my second spinal injection (this one was not nearly as painful as the frist). They used a different steroid this time, and while I still have pain this morning I'm hopeful this one will do the trick. I had intended to spend the day resting after the injection, but that was not to be. Spent the afternoon at the pain management clinic with my mom. She is still having a lot of pain. Long story short, it is as I feared. She will likely still have some healing, but they expect she is going to fall into the segment of people after a kyphoplasty who will always have pain. So the goal is to manage the pain in order to give her back some quality of life. They gave her a different prescription and instructions, and so hoping for the best. As you can imagine, the pain meds don't combine well with the Alzheimer's; but, there's no other option. If we can just find a way to keep the pain better controlled, they are going to be quite happy and content in the AL. Thankfully, the people there are all really good to them and are trying to be very helpful.
Check back later . . .

Ouch, Joyce, I feel for you. I hope the injections work. We had lots of downed trees here but thankfully my town did not lose power. Other towns in this area were not so fortunate and some areas have fires and flooding. Hope anyone else in the path of nor'easter is okay.

Joyce...I sure hope your injection relieves your pain. So far, I've never had to deal with back pain, so I can't say I know how you feel, but it has to be the pits. So, sorry about your Mom. Certainly one more thing she & you shouldn't have to deal with.
The wind is howling for sure.
This Alternative Fact BS is not even one bit funny, even tho the comedians are making some funny jokes about it.
KellyAnne says she needs SS because the press lies about her. Fact is, people in her position are offered SS protection & usually use it. More Alternative Fact BS ...
Have a HEALTHY Day.

Trump Signs Executive Orders On Keystone XL, Dakota Access Pipelines The new president has long supported the fiercely protested oil pipElaine
So, Tweety says this will put thousands of steel workers back to work building the pipeline.....ahhhh, the pipes are already built for Keystone & lying on acres of land 17 miles from where I live. They have been lying out in the open there for years getting damaged by the weather conditions, etc...so, what happens to these pipes?...Also, he has monetary interests in DAPL pipeline. So, guess who profits there. The lie is, it will hardly impact the workforce in building the pipeline or the care of it after since it's all monitored by sensors online.
On Monday, with almost eerie timing, a pipeline in the western Canadian province of Saskatchewan leaked 52,834 gallons of oil on tribal lands, precisely illustrating the fears of protesters on the U.S. side of the border.

According to The Hill, it’s not unusual for senior advisers to the president to obtain Secret Service details. Both David Axelrod and Valerie Jarret received protection when President Barack Obama was in office.
File her comment under: Lies like a cheap rug. OR More Alternative Fact BS ........

Exactly.....once the pipeline is in place there go the jobs. It is so much safer to transport the oil by rail. If there is a spill there is a finite amount lost...if there is a leak in the pipe and the sensors are not working correctly in that area....guess what?

Joyce- Fingers crossed that the injection works....... What a bummer about your mum. Probably a silly question, but could she have acupuncture for the pain? Another is.......Now not trying to shill here, but this is what I will use for my knee shoulder and wrist joints. I don't use it on my lower back too much scar tissue. www.amazon.com/Light-Relief-Infrared-Pain-Device/dp/B000GAAANGFor lower back I will use the tens. I am very anti strong meds....way too sensitive to them.

We love our tens unit here. I bought one for Grandaughter for some hip pain from sports & her whole family now uses & swears by it for various aches & pains.
Spicer keeps blowing off questions from reporters about Tweety's claims of " millions of illegals" voting. More Alternative Facts they throw out there & then duck & hide when asked to prove.

Well, just wait, the voter fraud thing just blew up in Spicers face & I do believe the BS will be hitting the fan now. They are now pressured to prove it. Wanna bet they can't or won't. Lindsey Graham is furious with Tweety for putting this forward. He does not believe it & says Tweety should drop it or prove it. So, good on him from a GOP congressman.

Thanks for the suggestions about helping with the pain. I will definitely check into them.
As for putting steel workers back to work building the pipes, aren't most of the US steel mills long closed down and in total disrepair?
Glad to hear Lindsey Graham standing up to Tweety. I've actually never been a fan of his, but I am warming up to him. As for the continual lying coming from the WH, this really worries me. I have zero confidence in anything Tweety or his spokespeople say, and I don't see how our allies or foes for that matter can believe anything coming from them either.
As for Anne's question about the women who don't seem to mind having a bunch of old men make decisions affecting their bodies, the ones I know are sincere in that and it usually stems from a religious viewpoint as well as societal norms for the area where they have grown up. They very rarely think for themselves about anything.
