We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

Will he or won't he pull out of the Iran deal? With this JA there is really no accurate predicting of anything. He'll do whatever he thinks will get him most in the spotlight or whatever occurs to him when he stands in front of the microphone. I have no hope that any actual thought about what is or is not best for the country will have been given any consideration in his decision. Anne, so good to see you posting! Glad to hear the news about DGSs. They grow up so quickly! All As for one is wonderful, and it was a wise decision for the other one to go to community college first. Many kids straight out of high school are not ready for the size and pressure that comes with being at a university. Getting the basics behind you at a smaller community college is often the very best plan. Celebrating with you here in TN! My mom did come back to the nursing home yesterday, but it was almost 8:00 PM before she got back. I decided since it was going to be so late that it would be best for me not to visit until today. They did take her in to see my dad, and when they called me to tell me she was there the nurse said they were holding hands and talking with each other. My mom, of course, had forgotten that my dad had broken his arm and wanted to know why no one had told her. They just said they had not wanted to worry her, and evidently she accepted that which would definitely not have happened before this new medicine. They reported she was in a good mood, and just happy to see my dad. Praying things will stay stable. I am going to have her evaluated for hospice also, but was advised to wait about that. Evidently since she's coming from a hospital stay Medicare will pay for her skilled care temporarily. That will save some money as we are private pay now, and as you all know it is very expensive. You can not be on Medicare and Hospice at the same time evidently. So once she's used up her Medicare benefits I will see if Hospice can evaluate her. We would still be paying for her nursing home care, but she would have additional care and I'm hoping they can be an advocate for maintaining her on the antipsychotics as I've been warned that because they are not actually approved by the FDA for Alzheimer's the government regulations will require the nursing home to start decreasing them for her. If that happens, we'll be right back where we started. Anyway, hoping for the best day to day. It angers me that I have to worry about government regulations interfering in the care my mother needs. I'm sure that when they were put into place, those "in charge" thought they were doing a good thing. The problem is they don't allow for those outside the norm. Everyone has to fit into the box, and patients such as my mom do not fit that box. She falls into a small percentage of Alzheimer's patients who have severe, otherwise uncontrollable aggression/violence. So sedating her just enough to keep her calm is the only way she is able to have any "quality" in her life. I don't believe patients should be over sedated, but each case should be judged on its own merits and not a "one size fits all" plan. Off my soap box now (at least temporarily)

Hi Girls
Joyce I'm so sorry about your mom and the mess you have to navigate. Fingers crossed for all of you.
I think JA will pull out of the deal. It's always been his inclination to do so, and now with Bolton beating the drum, it seems inevitable. Can't imagine how such a move would help the NK efforts. I hope I'm wrong - I really do.
Have a good day everyone!

nashville11, doordie50, Anything and all that Trump can do to upset the balance of this Country he will. Joyce with all you have on your plate, you could run a small country. Just so much to deal with. With all they are going through too sweet to hear that your parents were holding hands. That is a love for the ages. Beautiful. Is Malina channeling Michelle on purpose to pizz The Don off, or does she just have incompetent staff? So in this noble country we are going to separate parents and infants and children........and punish the parents for wanting a better life. Thank you Jeff. I guess we should be glad JA has not thought of selling them off. Totally disgusting. Are we having a repeat of history? D

Back from the nursing home, and discouraged but not throwing in the towel. I did talk with the NP who encouraged me that they will fight to keep my mom on her med so that was positive. I won't go into all the details, as there is nothing anyone can do to make things better. I know that with my head, and I just have to find a way to make my head overrule my heart. I would not wish this cruel, continuing nightmare on anyone ever; and yet, I know there are thousands suffering the same way my family is every single day. That's really depressing, to know we are not alone but that others must endure this as well.
Anne, it is strange the way Melania keeps repeating Michelle. She needs a much better staff as she surely is not being well served by the one she has now.
So the JA is getting p*ssed that Guiliani is getting so much press attention. LOL! Did anyone not see that coming a mile away? Rudy should keep his bags packed.

"9/11 attack he became America's Mayor."
Anne, I had a friend who was in NYC during 9/11. Her and a group of strangers, lucky to be alive, were brought together by this horror. Stunned and dazed they happen to be near the area where rudy was filming his famous walk about. They could hear him screaming at workers to "find that money!" He stored a lot of money in the basement of one of the buildings. He wasn't looking for survivors or bodies he was looking for money! When they did actually find the stash, he stopped the search even though those digging through the rubble wanted to keep searching for people! He told them that wasn't their job.
There are many that believe his clean up of the city was also for profit and greed. A tiger doesn't change his stripes. He's a disgusting deplorable. IMHO, of course.
Linda, welcome to the 70's! Dust off your old disco ball and dig out those 8 tracks of The Village People and Donna Summer. lol. Also, don't forget today's 70 is yesterdays 50!
WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you did whatever you felt like doing. Now that you're in your 70's you can do that more often!
Joyce, still sending you strength and hugs!
Hi Pam!!
We just got our cable back. Fingers crossed it doesn't go buh-bye again.
