We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

"I am still furious that, according to Sessions, children will be taken from their parents,. One of the worse criminal acts you can imagine. You don't do that to your worst enemy." -- Anne from yesterday's thread
I agree Anne. Taking children away from parents who love them and are trying to care for them is absolutely unconscionable! This administration will stoop to any low.
This thing with Israel and Iran has frightening possibilities. It would definitely not be beyond the scope of this JA to provoke a war simply to direct attention elsewhere, AND to prop up GOP chances in the mid-term elections. Neither the body count nor the devastation would matter in any way to him.

Completely outside the disaster of this administration, but not outside the news, I was listening to CNN on the radio as I drove home from the nursing home a little while ago. They were talking about Monica Lewinski, and how apparently she was "disinvited" to some big party because President Clinton was going to attend. Apparently, she spoke out saying how this was unfair treatment. The commentator was saying how ML has gone from being "demonized" to being looked at as a "victim" and a part of the Me Too movement now. I'm sorry, but I don't see her as being either a demon or a victim. Do any of you? True, she was young, and he was in a position of power. But, as I recall the story she has always said everything that happened between them was completely consensual. That does NOT let him off the hook in any way. What he did was disgusting in every way. But, the fact that she was young does not let her off the hook either, IMO. She wasn't a child. She was an adult. She made a poor choice, maybe one she has regretted but nevertheless it was her choice. So she was not a victim. And to associate her with the Me Too movement, again IMO, diminishes the story of those women who truly are a part of the Me Too movement. Those women who were pressured, who were told they would lose their jobs, have black marks against their careers, etc. if they did not go along. As far as I know, none of that was brought to bear against Monica before she made her choice. I mean really? Who flashes their underwear at the President of the United States? Anyway, just offering up my thoughts for the soap box. He deserves to be branded with the big scarlet letter A, but in this case, so does she. It's time for her to own up to her choices, pull up her big girl panties (rather than the thongs she was flashing), and be an adult rather than continuing to try and cash in on her 15 minutes of fame even now. There are women out there who have genuinely been coerced. She's not one of them. Are you remembering this differently than me?

Boy will Israel be surprised if Faux Pres does not come to their aid.......................
Joyce IMHO she was legally over the age of consent with the judgement of a starry-eyed 14 year old looking for attention any way she could get it and still has not matured. Now she is hitching her wagon to the #metoo Movement. No No!
As for Bill he should have shown her to the door, middle aged, married and the father of a daughter? Way beyond bad irresponsible judgement. No matter how many good things he did in office, that is the first thing that comes to people's mind.
Of course anything he did pales in comparison to Orange Baby........but I digress.
