Posted this about the same time Sandy was opening this thread:
Temp in S Tx is supposed to be in upper 70's on Saturday then on Sunday...holy moly! Low in low 30's and high barely in 40's with a LOT of wind. Then on Monday - geeeeezzz = pretty much the same temps BUT with a wind chill from near 20 to mid 30's by mid afternoon! I AM NOT playing golf on Monday and may not on Tuesday either! UGH! UGH! and UGH! Temps still in the 40's on Tuesday with "warmer" weather (like in the 50's) on Wednesday.

Connie,I think you are right.I think I may have been out for a couple of seconds.I didn't feel dizzy when I got up but by time I got to the drawer I keep the chargers in(a few feet away)I felt dizzy and I really don't remember anything until I realized I was on the floor. It was strange. My bottom is the only thing that was hurt and just on the right side.I have been drinking water and mostly on my recliner most of the afternoon.
Celeste,I thought about both low blood sugar and low blood pressure. This afternoon I wasn't feeling too well at the time so I fixed a cup of hot tea with a splash of whole milk and Truvia since we didn't have any OJ in the house and it seemed to help.I do take a HBP RX and it could have gotten low as well.I've been getting up slow and walking slow in the house today.LOL on matching elf's for the party.
Louise,Prayers for DD.
Sandy,You are one busy elf.Your elf goals have been really nice.
Mary,I agree on the weather change.I don't think we will get out of the high 30's on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday sound cold too.I am definitely going to enjoy the next 2 days though with warmer weather.

CELESTE that sweater sounds great!! Too fun.
MARY so what will you do in place of golf? This weather is all over the dang place.
BECKY gosh be careful! Yes, that is my Lulu.
Hi STEPH.
Went shopping and picked up the gifts i wanted, and a top for myself. Then came home took Lu for a walk and wrapped office gifts and loaded them up for tomorrow. So that was my evening.
Sitting for a spell and then to bed.

Suze & Celeste....such sweet pics of those two! They both have pretty faces.....and they look so comfy & content.
Louise....adding prayers for your dd.
Becky....any more dizziness? Hope it was just a flukey thing. Do be careful.
Sandy.....have fun tomorrow....great elf goals.
it was a soup night here, too.....au gratin nacho for me. The recipe was from a retired teacher friend....different but good. I did the Campbell's tomato / grilled cheese combo last weekend.....mmmmm mmmmm good!
Mary.....I know that is cold for you....but we would gladly take it. Saturday we are supposed to get down to -18 with a high of 5.......ugh!!!! Fortunately it is going to get back into the 30s next week.
Hey....isn't this a nicer color combo!?! Sending thanks to whoever fixed it. Maybe it will change every few days....that would be fun....but probably a pain.
Connie....glad you got to feeling better!
Steph....how goes the week? Middle school + full moon +week before Christmas= one crazy week!!!! Next week (3 days)will be even more of a challenge.
my bed is calling....think I'll turn in early.....good night ladies

Suze,Thanks.I will try to be more careful.Lu is so cute.
Angie,No more dizziness thank goodness. You keep your cold weather up there.Yes this is a much better color combo. One of the co-owners of the board,Itsrad, came up with this and most people like it much better. It is easier on the eyes.
Celeste,I just noticed Petey's picture. He looks so comfy and cute.

I greatly prefer this blue/grey background over mustard.
MARY if you DO play golf in the cold do NOT put your tongue on your club handle!!
SANDy, nice ELF goal.
BECKY I assume as you've lost so much weight that they've adjusted your BP meds waaaaaaaaay downward?
SUZE they only had those sweaters in men's sizes, but I may go back and get ones, I don't usually go in for "matchy" but if we get elf hats and sweaters, that's carrying it so over the top it might be worth it. I'll get photos if we do.
HOLY ARCTIC FREEZE ANGELA!! (Angela... who is ANGELA? hahaha)
Petey prefers the cooler weather but this was even too much for him. We did 3 VERY short walks today. just enough for him to do his business and then he turned and hightailed it home. It's the wind that makes it so bitterly cold. It comes right off the lake at the end of the street. Though that means it's coming from the south now so is going to bring those 70 degree days.
I'm lazy tonight so I'll shower in the AM. That way I don't have CPAP hair all day tomorrow. I don't have much to do in the day except maybe get that other ELF sweater. Our Christmas Mystery party is at 6PM Friday. It's a catered dinner w/ the mystery. It's not going to go past 10PM b/c all us old people turn into pumpkins if we're not home by 10. Makes me laugh b/c I'm still wide awake at 1 and 2AM. I wonder if they'd put me in the "Old People Slammer" if they knew that!
Ciao bambinas.

Celeste,No they haven't cut down my BP meds but I don't think I'm on a very high dose anyway. What is the mystery in the Christmas Mystery party or is that a mystery?
I'm planning on going to Curves in the morning unless I take a swan not so graceful dive which I definitely don't plan on doing.Hope to get a walk in maybe tomorrow afternoon or Saturday while it's still warm. Also need to go back to HEB to get a couple of things I didn't realize I was so low on and to CVS to pick up a refill.
Goodnight ladies!

I will figure something out Suze!
Celeste, I HATE weather this cold and have NO intentions of going out in that kind of cold, let alone handling a golf club.
Trying to decide what ingredients I want to buy for chicken and dumplings that I will make, probably Saturday afternoon. Just a matter of which soups and seasonings to use. I want to be ready for Sunday thru Tuesday without having to go out too much.
1 - congrats to Lady Longhorns volleyball team who won tonight and will play Stanford on Saturday for the National Championship
2 - so thankful that I do not live in Corpus right now; their water supply was contaminated by a petroleum chemical seepage from an unnamed plant in the area and they CANNOT use tap water for ANYTHING; no drinking, no laundry, no bathing/showers, etc; bottled water is nowhere to be found in Corpus or surrounding towns and I checked earlier after a neighbor said she heard Victoria was getting hit for any bottled water that could be taken back to Corpus (slightly less than a 2 hour trip); Sam's is all but out of most kinds of bottled water and a friend of mine whose DH is the manager of our HEB Plus said that HEB had 18-wheelers on the way to Corpus with truckloads of bottled water and she had heard that it could be until Monday at least before anything was going to open again - no schools, no restaurants, nothing that uses tap water is open at this time; definitely sucks for them

Excellent photo of Petey.
Had chicken noodle soup for lunch at work. Tis the season...
Just ordered my sister a couple of personalized Cross pens for her birthday in January. Buy one get one 75% off and free shipping. She's a lawyer and mentioned to my mom that she would like to have something nicer than a Bic to use for depositions. Am hoping that having her name engraved on them keeps people from walking off with them!
I also ordered myself 2 pairs of corduroy pants from Kohl's. I had a 30% off coupon and $33 in Kohl's cash. My final cost $24 for both. Yay! I feel like SUZE!

Nice background color!
Oh I see Mr. Petey had to update his photo…again. Sheesh. CELESTE the cold doesn’t faze Lu when she is walking – she doesn’t stay out overly long when she’s by herself in the yard. Just long enough to patrol and make sure no one is walking down HER streets. I will pull out her sweatshirt though, she doesn’t have much hair on her belly.
SANDY you have a lot of Elf-ing to do! Have fun.
MARY I saw a crockpot chicken and dumpling recipe on FB yesterday….looked very good – I think I’m going to try it. And this is perfect C&D weather! I heard about the water issue in Corpus, pretty bad.
Awesome CONNIE – wtg on the Kohl’s score!
LOUISE Best wishes for your DD, and that her procedure goes without a hitch.
I had fun delivering gifts to my co-workers this morning. Fuzzy socks, BBW mini hand sanitizers, Ghirardelli candy and a coaster for their desk. I bought the coasters at the Chiggerfest and they are so fun – I guess they are decoupage or something similar so they all have different sayings/pictures on them. Everyone laughed at how I matched them to each personality, lol. AND I bought NO bags, so several got Brighton bags, and various other gift bags that looked Christmas-y.
My vinyl siding is to be delivered today, and today is also master’s/doctoral graduation. It will be a busy day.
First on my plate for next week: workouts, sort of a Suze-boot-camp. And I can hit it hard during vacation, which is what I want to do. My niece is on FB doing something call core de force (?) and I looked it up…it has similarities Turbo-kick – my favorite. No wonder it works on the core so well.
Hi ANGIE and STEPH – hang in there! It’s Friday!

Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings 4 boneless skinless chicken breast 1 can chicken broth 2 cans cream of chicken sliced carrots sliced celery 1/2 can peas 1/2 onion crumbled bacon parsley garlic powder salt and pepper 1 can flaky biscuits
Place chicken breasts in bottom of crockpot Pour chicken broth and both cream of chickens over it Add in carrots, celery and onion. How much ever you prefer Add in garlic powder, salt and pepper and parsley flakes over it, how much ever you prefer Cook on high for 3 hours Remove chicken and shred. Add the chicken back in with some crumbled bacon and the peas, stir together. Break up the flaky biscuits, uncooked, and put in the crockpot. I break each roll in about 3 parts and just place them on top. Remain cooking for another hour or so on high or until done. Enjoy!
