Good morning Judy and all to follow. I have kind of a crazy travel logistics day today because this morning I'm babysitting for my DGS and then going to a work meeting in the city in the late afternoon. So travel today will involve car, subways, and train and perhaps a taxi. Eek! Trying to take it one leg of the journey at a time. I will get home late tonight so am trying to pack appropriate snacks to get me to dinner time. I find that Quest bars are a lifesaver, my favorite of the moment being Double Chocolate Chunk, followed closely by chocolate chip cookie dough. I know, there's a theme here...
I was wondering how you all would feel if, as I read Beck's blue book again, I could post some of the things she says and my responses and hear from any of you who might be interested, as to yours? You've all been around a long time and I don't want to, and have no intention of, hijacking the thread, but I'm finding as a newbie with this approach that I could benefit from some exploration of the concepts and actions she describes. What do you think? I won't be at all hurt if you'd rather not have this going on - I'm finding posting here helpful in itself. Plus getting to know all of you. Maybe I could do it on a day like today when it's open floor day?
OK, need to get ready for the day. Starting off with reading my advantages list. Will also read some reminder cards since I will not have my normal routine today and temptations could surface.

Menu for today: B: Bob's Red Mill Brown rice farina hot cereal. Coffee with 1/4 cup each almond milk and nonfat milk and a squirt of vanilla sugar free Torani L: Skinnytaste yellow split pea soup. D: fried egg with gluten free toast, maybe with 1/2 of a Kielbasa sausage snacks will be bananas and Halos and almonds if I have enough points.
Today I will go to a weekly WW meeting, but don't need to weigh in until February.
Keshet51--I have not done one of these Beck book reviews before either. I'm not familiar with her blue book, so if you'd like to share some things with the group about that book it would be fine with me.

Linda -- I will be interested to know what you think of the WW oatmeal. I got that sample yesterday too. I had it for breakfast this morning. I don't think I will be actually laying out my personal money to acquire more.
A cold front went through last night. Yesterday's high was 63. Today's high is 37, with sleet pellets. The weather guy on TV this morning kept saying that this is what January is supposed to be. I fear for those daffodils.
I had researched and planned and pre-tracked to go to a sports restaurant for lunch and have 1/2 reuben sandwich with steamed broccoli on the side. When we got there, the placed was closed, and a guy was scraping the name off the windows. I guess there are no more reubens in my future for a while. Instead, we went next door to a Mexican place. (Which I had NOT pre-planned and pre-tracked.)
B: WW oatmeal with apple/cinnamon (it was a free sample given out at our meeting yesterday) L: Chicken enchilada, chicken taco, rice, chips, salsa S: Egg beaters, ole xtreme wellness wrap D: Tilapia, carrots, nf milk

ladymajky Carol, I thought the WW oatmeal was okay, not great. When I read the ingredient label, I don't like to see all the extras added. I like plain oatmeal and then I can add my own extras. Usually berries of some sort but today I added a little WW cranberry relish which really perked up the flavor. The relish is basically fresh cranberries and an orange (with the peel) chopped in a food processor. I didn't add sugar to it but used stevia and a little cinnamon. The relish will be very good on my turkey sandwich. So, I will not be spending any money on the oatmeal cups. Carol, it's also colder here and my weather guesser also said this is more typical of January weather. They must have received a memo to remind viewers of how to handle cold weather!

I thought the oatmeal was too sweet with an artificial aftertaste -- what you would expect from an artificial sweetener. I prefer to use a tsp of brown sugar or a tsp of maple syrup. I usually add a dash of Penzeys pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon. I like the idea of cranberry relish! That sounds good.

Andi: You can post any day even if there is another topic. The more discussion the better.
We are having a warm day but this weekend we'll be back in the 30's. Got out for an errand this morning and will do another this afternoon. Also need to work on a project. Slept late this morning so my timing for the day is off.

ladymajky here is the link to the cranberry relish ww cranberry relish I didn't use any sugar, just a little stevia. I like things tart, esp. if I mix it in something like oatmeal. And, it was very good on my turkey sandwich.

@beckyw2016 I am so sorry about your knee. I missed the part where you fell. I hope you hear from a doctor soon. I just heard about these sausages at H-E-B. They are 1 SP each and the WW members said they were good.

linda72,Thanks for the info on the sausage. The spinach and garlic really sounds good.I was in HEB today but I wasn't looking for sausage so I didn't see them. Tuesday when I was in Anytime Fitness I must have had the speed set too high and I fell off the back of the treadmill.I walked up to our road gate and back four times this afternoon and it seemed like it loosened up the knee a little but it's still sore to the touch.I'm just getting frustrated calling the ortho's office and not hearing back from them.
