A tribute to someone who, I suspect, influenced our young lives. Rest In Peace, Mary.
Who can turn the world on with her smile? Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Well it's you girl, and you should know it With each glance and every little movement you show it Love is all around, no need to waste it You can never tell, why don't you take it You're gonna make it after all You're gonna make it after all How will you make it on your own? This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone But it's time you started living It's time you let someone else do some giving Love is all around, no need to waste it You can never tell, why don't you take it You might just make it after all You might just make it after all
These lyrics take on a new meaning for me today. Suzane

We will likely all miss Mary Tyler Moore. She brought a lot of smiles and laughter to a lot of people. What a wonderful legacy!
Pam, that video is hilarious!

Good morning everyone!
Gray and gloomy here again today, but after all it is January so can't really expect a lot of bright sunshine.
Did any of you see the ABC interview with Tweety last night? Just more of the same rhetoric, but no matter what the man just can't stop talking about the numbers at the inauguration. He is obsessed with them. In the first part of the interview David Muir did ask about the fact that he had made an issue of it; but, then Muir dropped the subject and went on to other things. Not Tweety though. He just can't quit. Even at the very end of the interview when they are walking down a hallway Tweety has to stop and point out an inauguration picture showing a lot of people and start in again about how more people were there and were watching his inauguration than any inauguration in history. The man is seriously SICK!!! What the hell difference does it make, but he just can't let go!
When asked if Ivanka would have an office in the West Wing, he said she was busy getting settled into Washington now but that it was certainly possible that she might. He said Jared is doing an excellent job already (not sure with what).

Cost for this "big, beautiful" wall is now projected at $15 billion rather than $10 billion, and you know costs always keep climbing. I read a quote from the current person (soon to be out of a job) in charge of guarding the border. He says they don't need a wall, what they need is more manpower and technology. But, as usual no one wants to listen to the people actually doing the job.
In the meantime our infrastructure continues to crumble because Congress wouldn't fund the rebuilding under Obama, and Tweety is more interested in building his wall.

So now two Presidents in a P'ing contest via Twitter. Guess Tweety the "great" negotiator isn't so great after all...Ryan & McConnall at their press conference this morning came across as a bunch of wimps...wait until the P'ing contest heats up between them & Tweety. That should be interesting & a huge waste of time with nothing getting solved in the meantime.

I just keep thinking of the fable of the "boy who cried wolf" ...Tweety lies so often that it's at the point, when will we know what's true or not. The only person he listens too are the voices in his head & all those voices do are lie lie lie. He keeps saying I heard from someone, or someone told me, etc etc...what, those "voices"...I honestly think he has a mental illness & it seems those around him don't care as long as they get their 15 minutes in the limelight & name in the news. Reports coming out that he has to constantly be distracted & babysat should alarm us all. And I am!

PHILADELPHIA â Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Thursday that Congress will pay $12 billion to $15 billion for a border wall upfront, dodging questions about whether they will offset the cost with spending cuts.
My feeling is, let all those who supported this "Build the Wall" & " Mexico Pays" & voted for Tweety, pay for the dang wall out of their pockets/taxes, not mine!...Really, how in the world do they think this ok?...we know for sure Mexico is not going to pay for this & we now get to spend $$$ that should go on real infrastructure instead of a wall. I wonder if buyers remorse is starting to set in with Tweety voters or are they still in La La land listening to the voices that are in Tweety's head...UGH!

That's what really makes me angry. The Republican Congress absolutely refused to fund rebuilding the infrastructure where there is clearly serious need, AND it would have created many jobs; yet, we are going to waste money trying to build a wall that will not work AND very likely never be finished. Most people have no clue what our southern border is actually like.
And I'm angry with all those Republican leaders who refused to acknowledge that this man is clearly mentally unstable during the campaign somehow thinking they would be able to control him once he was in office. What a joke! No one can control this man. He is seriously mentally ill. Listen to him for 5 minutes and that comes clearly across. The Republican leaders can't control him, and he is surrounded by people who won't even try because they're so hungry for their fifteen minutes of fame. Shame on them all!
Very scary, Linda! Thanks for sharing

By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM January 26, 2017 WASHINGTON â Stephen K. Bannon, President Trumpâs chief White House strategist, laced into the American press during an interview on Wednesday evening, arguing that news organizations had been âhumiliatedâ by an election outcome few anticipated, and repeatedly describing the media as âthe opposition partyâ of the current administration.
âThe media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile,â Mr. Bannon said during a telephone call.
âI want you to quote this,â Mr. Bannon added. âThe media here is the opposition party. They donât understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.â
.........this is just part of what Bannon said.

Trumpâs Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon Says Media Should âKeep Its Mouth Shutâ By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM
WASHINGTON â Stephen K. Bannon, President Trumpâs chief White House strategist, laced into the American press during an interview on Wednesday evening, arguing that news organizations had been âhumiliatedâ by an election outcome few anticipated, and repeatedly describing the media as âthe opposition partyâ of the current administration.
[...]
âThatâs why you have no power,â Mr. Bannon added. âYou were humiliated.â
Of all of Mr. Trumpâs advisers in the White House, Mr. Bannon is the one tasked with implementing the nationalist vision that Mr. Trump channeled during the later months of the campaign, one that stemmed from Mr. Bannon himself. And in many ways Mr. Trumpâs first week has put into action that vision â from the description of âAmerican Ccarnageââ Mr. Trump laid out in his inauguration speech, to a series of executive actions outlining policy on trade agreements, immigration, the building of a border wall and the demands that Mexico pay for it.
He is one of the strongest forces in a White House with competing power centers. A savvy manipulator of the press, and a proud provocateur, Mr. Bannon was among the few advisers in Mr. Trumpâs circle who was said to have urged on Mr. Spicerâs confrontational, emotional statement to a shocked White House briefing room on Saturday, when the White House disputed press reports on the inauguration crowd size. He mostly shares Mr. Trumpâs view that the news media has misunderstood the movement that the president rode into office.
On the telephone, Mr. Bannon spoke in blunt but calm tones, peppered with a dose of profanities, and humorously referred to himself at one point as âDarth Vader.â He said, with ironic relish, that Mr. Trump was elected by a surge of support from âthe working class hobbits and deplorables.â
The conversation was initiated by Mr. Bannon to offer praise for Mr. Spicer, who has been criticized this week for making false claims at the White House podium about the attendance of Mr. Trumpâs inaugural crowd;, for calling reporters dishonest and lecturing them about what stories to write; and for failing to disavow Mr. Trumpâs lie about widespread voter fraud in the election.
Asked if he was concerned that Mr. Spicer had lost credibility with the pressnews media, Mr. Bannon chortled. âAre you kidding me?â he said. âWe think thatâs a badge of honor. âQuestioning his integrityâ â are you kidding me? The media has zero integrity, zero intelligence, and no hard work.â
âYouâre the opposition party,â Mr. Bannon said. âNot the Democratic Party. Youâre the opposition party. The mediaâs the opposition party.â
While Mr. Bannon mostly referred to the âeliteâ or âmainstreamâ media, but he cited The New York Times and The Washington Post by name.
âThe paper of record for our beloved republic, The New York Times, should be absolutely ashamed and humiliated,â Mr. Bannon said. âThey got it 100 percent wrong.â

We are paying very close attention to China, DT thinks he is all that. He does not have a patch on the Oriental mind.
At the rate DT is going China will emerge as the new world leader.
5 days in office, time for him to go.
