Welcome to our 2016 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 24 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have over 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2017 feeling great!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning! Baby, it's cold outside!! Heading out soon for Grandma Day. And I will,be bringing them home with me!! I'm looking forward to being able to spend some time with Jack. I see the Wii in our future! Yesterday I got their snacks, any leftovers will go home with them. Jack loves cream filled chocolate donuts. And yes, he got one. I also bought strawberries! Every week, the kids ask ifI brought strawberries. These looked so good, I spent the money, and I'm glad. The cashier called them Christmas strawberries, and they are so good!
Jan: That is awesome!! What fun!! And I love that you helped with the book. I think God has you were He wants you!!
Amy: We have talked about not letting the holidays get in the way of our WW goals, but your TOTD makes me think of my A goals, as well as my food goals.
Gotta get to those gkids!!

Good morning and Happy Friday! I can't believe how this month is whipping by! Time really does speed up as I get older!
Amy - good for you ordering your gifts. I think I have everything done except to buy groceries next week. If my cousin is going to be at my house on Christmas Eve, I think I want to cook something a little fancy. Steaks or maybe even a prime rib. I've never cooked one before and the challenge may be getting one that doesn't leave me with lots of leftovers! I've invited my brother and sister in law too. My brother has always been close to my cousin Jim as well. My sister in law doesn't eat meat though so I'll have to figure out something for her. She's not a strict vegetarian but meat just doesn't agree with her tummy.
GG - have a happy Grandma Day! I adore strawberries but they are soooooo expensive around here right now. I did get some grapes this week and they are kind of pitiful! I think I'll stick with apples and oranges for now.
Jan - how exciting that they have already tapped you for a special job! I'm not surprised though! Seasonal work sounds like a good option.
Liz - how are you feeling girl?
I have hesitated to mention this but I got a text from Mrs Sue last night and her father is in the hospital and not doing well. He is actually at a hospital about 30 minutes from me and Sue texted and said she had just gotten to the hospital and it didn't look good. I haven't talked with her this morning. I hope I can at least go over and see her while she's here but of course don't want to intrude on the family. I'll just play it by ear. I'm sure she would appreciate prayers though.
I'll check in later. Murphy

Good morning, looking forward to my day off. Going to make my cracker toffee this morning to take to lunch with my friend, a box for her and her daughter with their little Christmas gifts. Going to the Boudin soup and sandwich place we usually go for lunch, I'm so craving their tomato soup and 1/2 grilled cheese, but will probably do 1/2 salad instead. They use multiple yummy cheeses and a whole sandwich is over 1000 calories!!!!! Someday for a really special treat but the scale is just hanging on to a 10# loss tomorrow for WI and I don't want to risk it!! Then I'll look for shoes and finish up finding a gift for my girlfriend in Oregon so I can get it mailed. Working sure makes you appreciate your free time!! Hugs to all! Murphy Yum, love prime rib, that's usually what we do for Christmas. I probably shouldn't mention the price of fruits in California GG have a great Gma day and hope you get some good activity on the Wii. A friend who knew me from teaching said she thinks the mothership has called me home to this job, it has been a really good fit so far, and the people are all so nice. Amy Yay for tracking at the pot luck! The snacks at work could do me in, I'm tracking and trying to look away. Yesterday probably 5 dozen pastries, bear claws, cookies, sad thing is with all the red tape they can't even donate them to the food pantry. Hope they get their ordering down soon so no leftovers!!! I of course caved and had another chocolate chip cookie....Yum. Got some knitting done though! Cindy Are you feeling better this morning? Hi to all, will check in later. Jan

Good morning everyone! I am feeling a little better, there is no point in my being upset with things that I have no control of. DS came back from his day trip to NY last night, and didn't bother coming in my room as he usually does when he come home at night to see how my day was, and I didn't reach out to him either. Yesterday was a good eating day until I got into the peanut butter & jelly in a cup, lol.
Amy~Yay for still tracking with the pot luck!
GG~Have a great GM Day!
Barb~Prime rib roast, yum! We are doing a tenderloin roast Christmas Day. Thank you for letting us know about Sue's Dad', please keep us in the loop if you can, saying prayers.
Jan~Sounds like they already know that you are a keeper!
Will check in later, hello Carole, Cindy, Helen
