This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning!
Lovely to see the posts from yesterday!
We checked in an unbelievable amount of formals yesterday. Our gown room will now offer a gorgeous selection in time for the grand opening on Monday. The rest of the store continues to fill in, as well. DN warned me that she's taken the maximum amount of appointments for Monday, as well, so I'd better wear comfortable shoes; it will be a looong day!
I have a small bit of shopping to do today, and not much more than that. The Grands will be here this evening so their DPs can attend DSil's company Christmas party.
Hoping this coffee takes care of the headache with which I awoke. Gah.

Good morning CATs, Nancy, good luck for the Monday opening. I hope the new store soars with success. I know you will do everything to make that happen. Hope the headache is short in duration.
It was so good to have nice long posts and updates from MCat and Melinda this week! Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well after their various health concerns.
MCat, I would like to recommend to you the WellFed cookbooks and website. The author follows a Paleo diet but her food is very tasty and she has lots of fun ideas for things like hot dog night, taco night, salad bar, etc., which means it is good for families. The newest cookbook (WellFed Weeknights) is start to finish in 45 minutes or less. It may seem like a long time but she gives you every single step so you are organized and maximizing your time during each of the various processes. We have loved it and DH doesn't mind cooking her recipes because she tells you exactly what to do. If Paleo isn't your thing you can make substitutions to add carbs back in for dishes like spaghetti squash and cauliflower rice.
I have made almost no mileage this week but I think I'm finally chasing Humphrey out the back door. I'm sure I'll still have the sniffles and residual coughing for a while but at least I'm starting to get energy back and feel like doing something other than couch surfing.
Things at the office continue to get weirder and weirder. Mgmt continues to allude to actions they are taking but can't speak about. I just hope and pray that the situation doesn't have more significant impacts or unanticipated consequences. It's pretty awful. Someday I hope I'll be able to say more but for now I think discretion is wise.
Thoughts go out to those of you with big winter snows and freezing temps. Stay safe and warm!
T, I'm headed in your direction tomorrow as we beginning planning for 2018. Perhaps I'll be able to check in with you during that year of planning which will officially start late summer.
I wish I could recall more specifics for personals but I'm lacking those memories right now. Shout outs to Martha, Andrea, Karla, Melinda, Linda, Susan, Shari and anyone else I might be missing.

Good morning, my steady coffee buddy, and all to follow. I stayed under the covers until 8, so luxurious, and will lounge around for as long as I can get away with it. I have a call set with a dear, far away friend in a few hours, so we can catch up on months and months of missed chat. Shari, the lilt of expectation is creeping into your posts.
What fun to have to catch up on a busy board from yesterday! Andrea, do you work from home on regularly scheduled days? It's a great option! Weird to think so many of us have had unusually warm days but your drive is still treacherous.
MCat, I'm sorry you are feeling the sandwich pressure. More like the Panini Generation, right? Pressure, heat, and a hot mess inside.
Oh, I am a fool. After a run in with an aggravating DStu, I succumbed to the donut. All of your kind thoughts had not yet been read. It was actually a very good donut. I loved not wisely, but too well.
My day ended with a very positive experience, however, with a different DStu. After sitting with him and asking about his day, talking about ways he can handle his insomnia and his homework over the weekend, etc., and returning his confiscated phone to him, he asked if he could give me a hug. Awww!!
Nancy, what a fun new venture! Will your work days begin after the start of the school day, so the Amiable Brothers or their cousins, the Brothers Bash, still be a part of the morning routine some days?
Susan, that is very big news about selling the shore retreat. I am sorry not to have a chance to return, but perhaps your next getaway locale will have room for a visiting CAT or two?
So, Anne, did those empty spots get filled? What are you reading right now? Melinda, you sound in fine fettle. Hooray for healing!
Menu planning awaits. DH is requesting more salads this week. If I don't make a plan, I will wastefully buy too much of this and that.
Love and hugs to Frieda!

Anne, I would relish the chance to see you more as you travel here for the next conference. Don't be shy -- even a meet up for a coffee is welcome time, as you know.

Hi There! Just thought I'd pop in to say hello. Martha, you texted me in the midst of things, so I really wasn't in the frame of mind to text back. I'm sorry and appreciate you reaching out to me. Melinda, I didn't get text. Ask T for the number. I took off FB from my phone, and haven't been on FB via the PC. I don't want to post anything, or comment on anything on that venue and it's hard to see so many people posting happy times. It juxtaposes with how crappy things are and I don't have room in my brain to go there. Also, please note that I would come on here to say hello, but something else is consuming my thoughts, and don't have much to say. I'm around.
Nancy, the new job sounds great. It's nice to be needed, and your days are probably better organized since you have stuff going on. Shari, Did DH find a job? Susan, that sounds great about selling and buying something closer to the beach! I hope the real estate gods look favorably upon your houses. How fun to redo something. Make it yours! T: I love her voice. Did you know she has a Masters in Opera? I think she is 4'11". Mcat: Wow, that's a lot going on at your parents. I hope Dbro will be able to help out more. Anne: Enjoy Bookclub!
Have a good one! I still need prayers.

So happy to see you, Frieda! I know how tough things are right now, so I'm glad you're stopping in when you can. ((HUGS)) I shared your number with Melinda. The new job has given me new energy and purpose, even if it's only one day (so far).
T, great effort still, but I am the last to blame you for one donut. It happens. And, more salad is good! I don't report to work until 10 bells, so there is time should the Best Buddies need to come early for a ride to school. So far, they are doing okay with the bus ride from the sitter's. Monday, DN and I will meet at 9 a.m. to finish up some loose ends from yesterday before we open.
Oh, Anne; so sorry to hear about the uncertainty at work. Aggravating and unsettling, yes?
DH is getting subs for lunch, sweet guy. Then I'm in the kitchen, making pasta to freeze, and cutting up salad.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the good wishes!
