And so we have this BULLY in the White House giving the O.K. to kidnap 2,000 infants, toddlers and children in an attempt to blackmail Democrats into giving him a wall.
We don't negotiate with terrorists! Get it?

I wanted to slap her too! She turned my stomach. Made me want to puke. Speaking of puking it crossed my mind that perhaps the slime ball in the WH is using these children as a distraction from the Mueller investigation. He's evil enough. KWIM? Of course he is! And the mess he made at the G-7......And the joke of his meeting with Rocket man and the.........
Never believe he walked away from the meeting with Kim with out getting personal benefits for the Trump Corporation.

I listened to part of the recording of the babies crying and calling out "mommy, daddy",just broke my heart.
We remember what our oldest grandson went through when he lost his mom at 2 1/2, and he still had his dad (our SIL)and a big loving family of parents, grandparents, great grands and Aunts Uncles and cousins. Just not the same.
Those poor little tots in Texas.
Our second grandson came to us at 2 years of age, he always had to have one of us in his sight and had to hold on to the car keys so we would not drive away and leave him.
So if you wonder why I am so upset it is because I have seen what separation from parents can do first hand to the child. Don't kid yourself Don, those children are suffering.

Pat and Anne, I agree with you both. And, yes, I do think this JA is using these innocent children both as pawns for his wall but even more so to take attention away from the Mueller investigation. He doesn't care in the slightest what happens or doesn't happen to them. I haven't had personal experience with children who have been separated from their parents, but a family member has adopted two children from Ethiopia who were separated from their family. These kids are 11 and 12 years old now, and been living here in a loving family for the past 3 years but they still have nightmares, separation anxieties, etc. They are surrounded by love, and get weekly counselling from a professional but they still must overcome a lot. Yes, Anne, you know me well about my list of who I'd like to slap.

As for Hillary and Michelle, I thought I read today that all the living First Ladies had come out with statements about this.

Sorry, could not include M.T., her comment was too .........................
What the short sighted A.G. does not get is this separating children from parents is setting the stage for the next generation of gangs with members who will have real reason to hate us.
Ya know, I don't have to like the President in office but I would at least want to be able to respect him or her.
Big Fail.....

Oh Joyce 11 and 12 are such difficult ages anyway for the child.
Patty I am so sorry for the little ones you know who were separated from their parents.
Sometimes it can't be helped and you work with what you can, but it ain't easy kid.
Proud to report both our young men are in college and are doing well. They are warm, loving, considerate people. Going to visit this summer, can't wait to get my hands on them.

Anne your point about being able to respect whoever occupies the Presidency really resonated with me. I have disagreed with and disliked other Presidents, but I have always respected them. Never before have I ever felt one meant intentional harm, but I have zero respect for this JA and I DO believe he intentionally creates chaos and actual harm solely for his own benefit and sometimes even for his own amusement. He disgusts me. I don't want any harm to come even to him, but I do want him out of office as quickly as possible and I want him to experience justice and be punished for his actions.

If you've never seen a movie titled "Wag The Dog", I highly suggest it. The fact that it was made 20 years ago but is freakishly close with todays politics.

DotRen, I have seen that movie, and you are right that it has some very close parallels to what is happening in Washington now.

I've been a United Methodist for going on 50 years now, and I have never heard of a lay person being brought up on charges of violating church law (doctrine) until now; but, Jeff Sessions has crossed that line. "Specifically, the group accuses him of child abuse in reference to separating young children from their parents and holding them in mass incarceration facilities; immorality; racial discrimination and “dissemination of doctrines contrary to the established standards of doctrines” of The United Methodist Church. . ." “I really never would have thought I’d be working on charges against anybody in the Methodist connection, much less a lay person,” said the Rev. David Wright, a Pacific Northwest Conference elder and chaplain at the University of Puget Sound in Washington State, and organizer of the effort to charge Sessions. But Wright said the Trump administration’s zero tolerance policy as enforced by Sessions, combined with Sessions’ use of Romans 13 to justify the policy, led him and others to conclude that more than a statement of protest was needed." I found the entire article very interesting, so if you would like to read it here's the link. www.umc.org/news-and-media/church-charges-brought-against-sessions#

We are definitely on a slippery slope, and the only thing at the bottom is quicksand.

I keep seeing the separation of children from their parents/families being referred to as a "women's issue." I don't see this as a women's issue, but rather as a humanitarian issue that transcends gender and speaks to our very essence.

Just watched FM ...yes, changing to FM from JA which I think is to kind IMHO...he was speaking at a small business conference meeting & went totally bonkers on immigration!!! GAG! He even blamed the press for the violence of MS-13 gangs! He looked unhinged! I personally think he he is running scarred! But, WOW, he was totally insane this morning with all the lies he was spewing. OMG, the cheering from the crowd was beyond scary!!! DH had to leave the house because he was way too upset with FM at this conference & what he was saying!!! This meeting later today with Republican's will be a sham & total waste of time because he said this morning he is going to make changes to whatever they present to him. He's not listening to anyone but the insane voice in his head!!!

Linda, I didn't hear him but my DH did, and he echoed your thoughts. He said the scariest part of all was the crowd who seem to adore him more the wilder and more outrageous he gets. It is truly frightening. At the absolute worst FM/JA will be gone in six years (although he truly wants to be a dictator for life), but these insane followers will be with us forever. DH said he actually thought that if, God forbid, someone assassinated the JA that his followers would start a civil war. At the rate we're going, it may not need that much of a provocation for them. It's like reading something out of a science fiction horror novel. He deliberately caters to and brings out the basest most deeply seeded hatred within his followers and gives them free reign to run with it as long as they bow down and shout exultations in his name.
