Maija got home safely and was in such a wonderful mood until Debbie shared with her that Jeff is accusing Debbie of preventing Maija from being in touch with him. Maija said but that's not true and Debbie said I know that but that's what the accusation is so please start responding to his texts and also the court might order you to spend one on one time with him more than you do now. Well that caused a major meltdown and she said fine if I have to but in a few months when I turn 18 it's over and I will never have anything to do with him again. We're hoping that after Debbie's attorney meets with the judge and gives him the full story including the criminal case he will see how traumatic forcing her to see her Dad alone would be and might not make her do it. But Debbie didn't tell her that as she didn't want to get her hopes up. But she did tell Debbie if he's going to force her seeing him he will be the one setting the time and the planned Friday lunches will not be happening. She's also questioning if she should keep seeing Sam as what if he turns out to be just fooling her with his kindness and becomes just like Jeff. Debbie reassured her Sam is not and will not be like Jeff as she had warning signs of what Jeff could be like and ignored them and that Sam is more like her grandpa Fred. I hope she can believe that as if that relationship gets ruined because of Jeff this could set her up for never trusting men ever.
Bailey goes for grooming this morning. I was trying to get her in this coming week and they were booked due to the fourth but called me yesterday to say they had a cancellation for 9 this morning so took it as church is at 7:30 so will be out in plenty of time. I am starting to wonder just how good my prayers are doing as it seems like matters are just getting worse and now Debbie is wondering how many of Jeff's lies will the court believe even if Maija backs her up since Jeff is now saying Debbie is brainwashing her and encouraging her to lie. This from a person who had his daughter lying to people about him not working and making up the lie for her to say from the time she was four years old.
Sorry to sound so negative and maybe I should stop posting for a while as I'm sure you're all sick of hearing this as everyone has problems and don't need to keep hearing about mine.

Sandy this is a safe place and you do need to vent. Please keep posting. We all have our troubles.
I’m glad Maija had a good week. But she would have had to be tired. Things will get better, just have faith.
Ruth I hope your neck is better now. Maybe sleeping in your own bed will help.
Karen E your DGGS will remember that fun shopping trip for a long time. I think our roles as grandparents are making memories and also being supportive. You do both well.
Joanne does those things well too for her family. I admire many of you so much.
Now I think coffee is ready.

Anyone that thinks they have problems this morning, I pray for you but I am asking for prayers for people in Des Moines and other Iowa areas. They had 10 plus inches of rain last night. One life lost do far also over 19000 households without power last night. Not a good situation. We only had 1/2 inch and we are safe.
Just trying to keep up with all the news. Do have sister's, nieces and other family members but thinking they are ok as have not heard otherwise. BBL

Prayers being said for all of those in Iowa suffering from the heavy rains! I missed hearing about these rains, Karen E, so thank you for alerting us. It is so sad the devastation and destruction our nation has experience from these traumatic weather and fire events of late!
Sandy, you, Debbie and Maija are also in my prayers.
It's near 90 degrees here already and 100% humidity. Our DGD, Ella, is playing in US Soccer Eastern Regional 17U playoffs for the 3rd day in a row this a.m. They are playing in Spotsylvania VA. Her team has already won the first 2 play-in games and has qualified for the semi-finals tomorrow. Then with a win tomorrow they will play again on Tuesday. Tuesday's winner goes on to the State Championships in Frisco, TX toward the end of July. I pray that all the players remain safe in this extreme weather!

good morning
Sandy We certainly are supportive of you so don't feel you need to quit posting. I know we all have things that bother us and it is good to have this friendship to help with support.
Karen E== prayers being said
I went to Costco for gas and then to the pool. Funny that by the time I left there were 4 of us at the pool and all are bridge players. When I left there was a big dark cloud so glad I got there early.
I have laundry going and have not had breakfast and I have been up for over 3 hours so time to eat.

Going to late mass today and certainly prayers for those in need.
Sandy do not ever feel that you cannot share on this board. We are all in support of you and offer prayers for your family.
Gail glad the cleaning out is going so well for you.
Afternoon with DGD age 8 and taking Yorkie on a short trip to meet potential adopter. I have three people wanting her and have to meet and make a decision of who will ultimately get her.

Good morning all,
I got a rude awakening this morning when I got on the scale, eating all the dessert that DS has been making with the fresh rhubarb and strawberries has my weight going up. So I just sat down and planned my meals for this week and will go get what I need tomorrow at the grocery store.
Sandy.....I have to agree with everyone, we all need to vent every now and then, as I have at times, and please don't quit. You and yur family is in my daily prayers as well as everyone else who needs them.
Our prayers do get answered, maybe not when we want them to be but they eventually are.

Good Morning!
We have been out for a long walk and been to the grocery store already. It is supposed to rain this afternoon so we wanted to get those things done before it rained.
Sandy, We are your friends and always here to support you. You don’t need a filter. Venting is so much better than holding it all in. Continued prayers for your family ❤️
Karen E, Thanks for updating us on the news. Sending prayers to all who are suffering from those torrential rains in Iowa.
Jane, I hope Don is feeling better today.
Joanne, Don’t beat yourself up for enjoying an occasional treat. The weight gain could have something to do with the hot & humid weather. Bravo for planning your meals and getting right back on track!

Thank you all very much. Guess after her meltdown last night Maija did text her Dad later in the evening and asked about his court case and she already knew he has a court date August 20 but he told her as far as he knows he hasn't entered a plea and the whole thing might get dropped! Then he asked why all the questions and she said because Sam and I have been talking about it and I wanted to know if we have to testify against you and he then stopped replying to her. He really does live in a fantasy world. But as long as Maija can handle it, and it looks like she's strong and will, then I have to learn to handle it as well. It is funny that as long as he thinks she believes him he responds but when he realizes she's not buying his story he stops.
Bailey was so funny when we dropped her off at grooming as there was a Great Pyrenees/Australian mix ahead of her and she hid behind Fred. This other dog was so friendly and when it saw Bailey she's so little it didn't know if he needed to herd her or if she was a critter he needed to get rid of! Then as Bailey was backing up the door opened and in came a very active golden doodle pup and so she was caught in the middle and starting to panic but then here came her groomer and she said hey little momma looks like I need to rescue you! Bailey practically raced to her as though saying yes you are my friend get me away from here!

I’m a Bailey fan; what a character. Karen e thanks for sharing the info on Des Moines. I texted our west Des Moines family and they are ok.
I’ve been to Walmart and we walked the mall twice. Now I am icing my back just in case.
I misunderstood the sale at Belk. Don needs a new pair of khakis that fit him. The ones I liked were $72 a pair, buy one get one. He rarely wears khakis so $72 was too much. In your opinion, what should a good pair of men’s khakis cost?
Geri how lovely you will have a say on the Yorkie’s new family.
Joanne, hang in there. I am quite sure I would have eaten those yummy things too. It’s just I don’t have any. I will give in and have cake the 4th of July. I am planning on it.

Sharon Amazing what they charge for men's clothes. Don got jockey underwear at Bealls and it was on clearance and marked down from $34 to $22 and that is for 3 pair but it had a bonus so a 4th pair. With my coupon we got another 20% off but I thought that was really expensive. I would think $40 would be a heavy price for khakis but what do I know so that to me a normal price would be about $25. Glad Don lives in shorts. He is so short that he can't buy pants anymore and a woman up the street will alter them. We are like 2 munchkins now.
Ruth and others --thanks about asking about Don. He has so many health problems that it keeps me worried. I hope these 2 Dr. appointments on Mon. and Tues. will be helpful. However I think the pain management Dr. will see his pain as overwhelming so just hope he can help with the shoulder/arm pain.
Geri So glad the yorkie will have a good home and that you get to make that choice for her. How are the puppies? Are they up for adoption or have I missed that? I saw the picture of one on facebook and what a cutie it is.
Sandy--there is just nothing like a dog!
Kelcy had an adventure yesterday when he went out and I didn't know it and he ran back when I called him so I have no idea where he had been but evidently he visited the lake area.
I saw the snake--or a snake ---this morning when I came home from the pool. He was in the street and around the corner from us.

I hope after meeting all the families wanting Henny it will be an easy decision. Right now I am concerned about disappointing two people and only able to make one happy. The puppies, I think, all have adopted families lined up. They will be able to go to their new homes in the coming week. 9 week shots have to be administered first. One foster has two and one has three of them. The one with two is a friend of mine and DGD and I will go visit them tonight. The one with three is not close to me and I have no contact with her.
Bailey is a character. I have Zest, my beagle foster, who was adopted in the spring vacationing with me this week. She will return to her family tomorrow night after I get off work. She is a character. She gets up on the bed with me at night and wants to adhere to my body and give kisses until I can't stand it any more and make her roll over. I will miss her when she goes home, but it might be a good miss!

Greetings:
This group, these groups, are very interesting. I will say things to this group that I don't say anywhere else. I am making new friends here but they are no where near the depth of this on-line group. I have my best friend -- goes back to before Kindergarten and yet we have never had some of the conversations I have here. I think about it from time to time and I wonder about it. But it's an outlet that is very important.
So, Sandy, I hope that for you it's a place you can vent. We aren't people you see every day, every week or every month. Sometimes we might see each other once a year or less often. But this is a safe place. I used to vent on paper. Although I still write things out now and then, I find that writing them here takes the place of some of that need. So, let it out. Holding in whatever causes pressure is not worth it! Let it go.
We finally cancelled the paper due to delivery issues. I may have mentioned that. But in one of the last ones there was a story about pet pampering and how it's easy to spend $150 on doggie pampering. that made me sit up and take notice. That's a whole lot of pampering for a pooch.
So sorry to hear of the floods in Des Moines. We've missed the late news a few days and now without the paper I feel lost in my own little world. Prayers for all.
Karen E. that sounds like the child shopping trip we had here last month. We'd said we'd do shopping for birthdays while they were here and gave them a dollar amount. The boys had fun going around adding and deleting things. What they finally wound up with was not what I would have picked for them, so all the better their parents were there to help shape the choices.
Joanne, it's just begin again. :}
I finished the second pair of suit pants. Three to go.
With his neuropathy DH gets swollen toes and he's also got swellling going on in his right hand, probably from his painting. Anyway, the internist said he should get some cream/gel to rub on them. I use Tiger Balm to rub in for muscle aches and pains. But for inflammation, swelling, one should use cream with ibuprofen in it. It's got far fewer side effects than ingesting tablets. so, we began a search, didn't find it at Walgreen and then I looked on Amazon but though I aSked for ibuprofen, nothing that came up actualy had ibuprofen in it Finally I found it. In England. So, coming from England. I understand from an article that it's also in Canada, but I couldn't find it in Canada and I'd already spent more time than I wanted to on the project.
I think I need a swimming cap. I am between two pools and don't use either one! And swimming is good exercise and I could even buy one of those noodle things.
