Hi everyone!
I thought that I should pop in to say hello!
I have been having a rough time.
I am at an all-time non-pregnant high. Most of the time I can convince myself that it's not so bad, but every once in a while I'm forced to confront the fact that I have gained a substantial amount of weight. My DD takes pictures of me on my phone when I'm not looking and they are terrifying. Also, I've recently bought a bunch of new clothes because nothing was fitting. I really do have to do something to get this weight off.
Hope you are all doing well!

Good morning
DotRen, good for you getting back on plan.
wwlurker, good to see you. I can so relate to how you are feeling. I'm the biggest I have ever been and don't like it.
Waving to all
We talked about self esteem at the WW meeting on Sunday. Mine is at an all time low. Need to work on doing more positive things for "me."

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today
wwlurker - I'm happy to see you posting and sorry to hear about your struggles. I hope something will "click" for you soon and get you back on track. Please know we're here to support you
sunrose - Good for you getting in your fruits and vegetables. I have to make those a "requirement" for every day or else I'd eat nothing but proteins and carbs
Self esteem is a big problem for me too, I wish you the best with that.
DotRen - I'm glad you're doing well and on plan, hope today is good too.
I'm still eating badly, but I am getting in my fruit, vegs, and dairy. I also get 8+ cups of water a day and about an hour of exercise (walking), so I guess I'm not doing that bad. I'm afraid to weigh myself though, I'm not ready to face that reality yet.

Good morning
DotRen, I heard it was hot in Texas. It has been muggy here. With lots of rain. Good for you with the on-plan day!!
cj59, I should make fruit, veggies, dairy a requirement for me too. Yesterday I got non of it in. I do drink a lot of water and trying to get back to my daily 10k steps. So yes, your are doing pretty good!!
I did a 5 mile watp workout yesterday. Have an appointment this morning then I will do c25k when I get home. I will also have some fruit, a salad at lunch and yogurt with blueberries as a snack.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Goof for you getting in the exercise and working on the c25K. Sounds like you are doing well with your fruits too. I'm slowly starting to cut back on my junk eating and have most of the junk out of the house. I really need to keep all junk and trigger foods out of the house either forever, or at least for a few months, to try to get myself eating healthier again. I never wanted to be on a plan where there was a food that I couldn't eat, that just always seemed to set me up for failure. And while I was working on losing weight there was food that I just wouldn't even think of eating because it was so high in calories/points. But I've seemed to lose the will to do that now so I know I'm going to have to set some limits on what I can and can't have in the house and/or eat. As much as I wish that I could be a "normal" eating person, that is never going to happen for me. I'll always have to work at eating right and I'm sure that's true for a lot of us on these boards. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

cj59, I did low-carb for a very long time, and my husband lost weight really great on it AND every Friday he'd have a big a$$ double cheeseburger, fries and a a shake and he still lost 3-4 pounds a week! Me? I'd sniff a french fry and gain a pound. But as long as I stayed 100% on plan, I lost. It sucked though because I found it very restrictive. Eating out was a chore because, as much as I love steaks, there's only so much "I'll have a med-rare ribeye, salad NO croutons and green beans (or whatever veg was not a starch); skip any bread, skip any tortilla chips, etc - really made dining out unenjoyable.

Good morning cj59, I am with you on having to keep junk food out of the house. And yes I am one of those people that will always have to watch my food intake. DotRen, wow on how your husband did with the carbs! I too can smell the stuff and gain. My friend does the low/no carb diet. I think it has become a habit for her. It is hard and unenjoyable to eat out. I did my c25k workout yesterday. Also had a bone test done. Will get results in 2 weeks. I need to be better about my f/v/dairy. Gee how many times do I need to stay that before it sinks in

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today DotRen - Yeah, I only need to look at food to gain too. I don't think I could do the LCHF diet, but I know I need to limit my carbs a bit more. This diet does seem successful for people but I wonder how it works long term. sunrose - I'm happy to hear you got your workout in. Hope your bone test results are good. I do love having a yogurt every day and then I usually have some milk or SF pudding too, so hopefully I'm getting in enough dairy for my bones. Years ago I barely had a dairy food once a week, so at least I'm better at it now. I went to the grocery store today and bought some more junk. I really need to stay out of there The only think about it is that I can tell what type of junk foods I'm most drawn to buy - chocolate, baked goods, and some chips. These are the foods that I really can't control very well and I'm going to have to set my mind to not bringing them in the house. I know this is a bad way to work a diet, but I think I'm just going to set August 1st as the date to get back on track. I know the best thing to do is start right now, but I have a few social events coming up before next week and I know I'll be eating at them. Maybe setting a date will get my mind back in weight loss/good eating mode. QUESTION FOR THOSE OF YOU ON FREESTYLE: I've thought about re-joining WW, but I just don't know if the new program will work for me. I do not like to eat eggs (except in cake, French toast, etc.), beans/legumes, and some of the other free foods. I also tend to eat my proteins that have some flavoring or coating on them, instead of just a plain chicken breast, so I'm sure those have points. I do know that it might help me limit my sugar intake, which I would like to work on. I will still want to be able to eat my yogurt, milk, low sugar oatmeal, maybe fiber one bar sometimes, etc. I wouldn't last long on just plain protein, fruits and vegetables. Do you think this program would work for me or would I have trouble sticking to it with not eating a lot of the zero point foods? Thanks for any thoughts you can share.

Good morning cj59, it would be worth a try to rejoin (in my opinion). I know several people at my meeting have found freestyle hard. I don't except for having to cut the sugar (but that was in the last program too). I love eggs, beans, etc. But I really don't over eat them. I still pretty much stick to my routine except in the evenings when I have my wine and then snack. That is what I need to work on. You don't have to eat eggs or beans. They are just a few things on the list. I eat Light & Fit yogurt (but that is what I ate before anyway for 2 SP). I will put fruit in it. I'm trying to eat an apple a day with a 1 sp cheese. Love cheese and apples (have to share with my dog ). I find it nice not to have to count tuna fish, seafood, or chicken. I don't eat large portions of any of it. Have you checked out the whole list of 0 sp foods? If you rejoin will you go to meetings? Hope that is some helpful.

I use my points first, then fill in with the zero foods. That makes me more accountable -for me anyway. I see a lot of problems on FB groups with people abusing the zero foods, so it can be a trap lol.

sunrose and DotRen - thanks for your thoughts on Freestyle. I'll have to think about it and whether I feel motivated enough to get out to a meeting once a week. The one that I would go to is at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday and it's about 15 miles from my house.
I'm really spoiled sleeping late now that I'm retired so I really want to consider if I want to commit myself to going somewhere once a week. But I could get my errands done after the meeting, so I'm going to think about it.
I've also thought that I basically eat most of the same foods all the time, so I could make out a list of all of them and write the calories and points (old system) for them and leave out all the junk. This would be my list of foods to pick from for my meals.
I was really successful when I had 1 or 2 higher point days and the rest lower. That gave me a chance to eat more foods on those days and I was able to tolerate the lower point days since I had a few higher ones. I'm just going to think about everything for a few days, but I need to get back on track next week. My clothes are starting to get tight so I know I've gained some serious weight.
Hope you are all doing well on your plans and just in general too. Have a great weekend!
