What upsets me to no end about these rallies, is that he is using MY & YOUR tax dollars to pay for his hateful vile rhetoric at these rallies!!!!!

I agree, Linda, that I don't like seeing my tax dollars being spent on spreading his hate speech. Especially when there are so many things that need to be done such as healthcare, infrastructure, etc to say nothing of reuniting these children with their families. And did I hear correctly that he plans to meet with Putin with only a Russian interpreter present and no one else? I no longer think that it is that no one can control him, but no one even tries. There is not anyone there who cares a whit about the country and our citizens. Every single one of them just wants to feather his own nest. Our country is on the brink of utter destruction, and he is going to push us over the edge.

Is it only in TN, or in your state political campaigns are they still trying to run against Hillary? We have a JA wannabe trying to get the nomination to run for governor who has continual ads running featuring Mike Huckabee talking about how this guy is just like the JA and how they all stood strong against Hillary. It is like they are living in a time warp. God help my state if this guy becomes governor.

There is a lot of hate from both sides. That's why I said it's up to us, as individuals, to break the cycle and stop answering the hate we perceive with even more hate, or it never ends.

It is like they are living in a time warp. I believe these folks don't honestly vote FOR their candidate. They vote AGAINST >snip<

I didn't quote that right lol. Yes, absolutely. I have a close friend who would vote for Daffy Duck if he ran as a Republican, regardless of the other candidates. I think a lot of people vote party for no reason other than they always have.

How to counteract all the hate is a difficult question. I don't have the answer, and I am not sure there is an answer, at least not just one answer. If you fight fire with fire, are you just burning the house down? If you turn the other cheek and don't respond, are you just encouraging it and complicitly agreeing with it? It seems to be a catch-22 anyway you go. An answer is going to have to come from someone far smarter than me. There was a time when I would have thought that common sense and just the innate goodness within people would countermand the hate, but now I think that common sense seems to have been thrown out the window and the innate goodness I always believed was within most people seems to be in shorter and shorter supply. People that I once thought were good, decent, caring people are shocking the you know what out of me on FB with some of the posts they pass along. I'm wondering have these people changed or did I really never know them at all?
One thing I do know is that I will NOT be watching the JA and his reality TV show tomorrow night when he makes his SC Justice announcement. Whoever he picks, we'll find out all about it on the news. But I will not subject myself to listening to his blatant spreading of hate. If we have a national emergency, and he makes a statement to the nation I will listen. Otherwise, when his face comes on the TV I now switch channels. My own little personal "revolt." It has nothing whatsoever to do with his being Republican. If I don't agree with your politics, I still respectfully listen. I disagreed vehemently at times with both Bushes, but I always listened with respect. This JA/FM I have no respect whatsoever for. He disgusts me. I respect the office of the President, this piece of trash shows no resemblance whatsoever to a president. He's a reality TV shock jock, who cares about no one or anything but himself. And anyone who looks up to him, follows him, admires him in my opinion is a total idiot, and that includes a few of my extended family members I'm saddened to say.
So very thankful that some of the children in Thailand have been rescued safely, and praying for the others as well as their families and those working diligently to save them.
